****buyer beware warning: extremely dangerous & violent warning****…read morebefore you ever consider staying at this nh hotel in pisa, italy, please be forewarned: i was viciously and violently attacked @ 6:45am on saturday, january 10, 2026, by the front desk nite manager because i entered the restaurant area to eat breakfast. after i entered the restaurant, he quickly came after me from the front counter and stated i must pay for the breakfast before getting the food. i responded, "thats fine, but i'd like to see the food first." after my response, he literally exploded and said that is not possible and quickly went in front of me to block my path, even extending both arms to create a barricade. then as i was turning around to leave, he violently grabbed both of my shoulders with both hands and viciously pushed me to the front doors and gave me one final hard push once at the threshold. i have stayed at another nh hotel property before and had a positive experience so i was expecting the same level of service. however, prior to writing this 1-star review, i read many of the other 1-star reviews and other unhappy patrons raised serious customer service issues. however, none were as serious as my horrifying and terrifying attack! if i had read about how the general manager, francesco barbera, is dismissive to all the other 1-star guest reviews, i definitely would not have attempted to book a room here. needless to stay mr. barbera, i will never ever stay at another nh hotel propert amywhere in the world, because your hotel is an extremely dangerous and toxic environment and you evidently hired this "thug" who clearly demonstrated he has very serious anger management issues and a very dangerous short fused temper that he is incapable of controlling. after you hopefully conduct a comprehensive internal affairs investigation, i am confident you will terminate his employment immediately before he violently and viciously attacks another guest for no valid reason[s] of any kind!!! signed: mr. alcaraz 1/10/26 ps: to whom it may concern: thank you kindly for taking the time to read and learn about this unimaginable nightmare incident!!! moreover, mr. barbera, i am confident that you will agree, this hotel should be re-rated as a 1-star hote!l!. fyi, the tall women with long blond hair that many of your other dissatisfied patrons have mentioned in their 1-star review, refused to let me enter the front doors when i attempted to re-enter the building approximately 30 minutes later to request the name and e-mail address of the ceo of this nh hotels chain to report this incident. instead she hid like a coward!!! shameful, disgusting, reprehensible and disasterous business practices, mr. barbera!!!

This was the last hotel we stayed at during our 2 week trip around Italy (Rome, Napoli, Pompei,…read moreCapri, Amalfi Coast, Florence, Siena, Pisa). NH Hoteles is quite a famous Spanish chain of hotels with locations throughout Europe. We paid 93.60 EUR to stay 1 night here before flying out of Pisa airport the next day. Let me say that the hotel was a very welcomed sign. It is located just outside of the Train station so we didn't need to deal with taxi drivers or a long walk. Further, it was a nice scenic walk from the hotel (about 15 or 20 minutes) to the central area of Pisa (leaning tower, etc...). Moreover, the hotel is very new inside and very spacious which isn't always the case when traveling around Italy. I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for easy access to the train station with a reasonable rate.

The hotel is convenient to the airport, train station.'c and downtown Pisa. The hotel was very clean and the service was impeccable! I had the opportunity to have brekkie and an arrival meal (dinner) here and the food and restaurant service was also top shelf. Really a superb place to stay if you find yourself in Pisa for business or pleasure. Highly recommend the AC here! Thanks to everyone for two great stays!

Since we had nearly 30 hours of travel we ate and went to bed only to wake up to a warm room. We tried to adjust the AC but instead opened the window. The next day we informed the front desk. The front desk person was pleasant, but we heard nothing from the hotel, no notes, calls or text messages. Upon returning that afternoon, since we had heard nothing, we told them we would need to check out, if this was not rectified. Still zero communication from anyone. The next morning, we went to check out and the front desk manager came out, told us we would be charged for 4 more days and the AC was working it is just wired backwards like most controls in the rooms. And we are suppose to know that to get AC you need to place the control on heat? Seriously, you cannot make this up. I then escalated the complaint to Marriott corporate, and he misrepresented the AC control and stated it was working properly. I have over 1500 nights at Marriott, and this is the first escalated complaint I have ever made to Marriott corporate for obvious reasons. I even provided pictures as I could not believe this was a Marriott property.

I am very mixed on this hotel…read more Keep in mind, this hotel is the oldest hotel in Italy and one of the oldest in the world. With that in mind, the rooms show their age and so does the hotel itself. The most amazing thing to do is randomly explore the many floors of the hotel. It is truly a beautiful hotel with so many cool relics everywhere. Now the room: The bed is one of the hardest beds I have ever slept on. There is one air conditioner unit. Which is nice except the rooms are so huge that this little unit will not cool down the whole room. The bathroom door is very weird that there is the possibility of getting accidentally locked inside the bathroom. The shower and sink have very strange water pressure in them. While the decor and size of the room is amazing, it had a lot that was wrong with it. The one great thing was the view overlooking the river. Such a great view! This hotel is centrally located a 15 minute walk from the leaning tower and the train station. It's a very flat and easy walk. Nearby there are so many amazing restaurants to try as well. Added bonus to this hotel is breakfast is free in one of the most beautiful rooms in the hotel. I love this hotel because it gives that nostalgia feeling. I hate this hotel cause of the awful living experience in the rooms.

What if I have to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night? What if I run into ghosts because this place is old? What if I get transported back in time... or worse yet, to like Narnia or something because I went through the wrong door? No, not on drugs... just a vivid imagination. We get a taxi from the airport... it came to twelve euros, plus an extra charge for baggage. Our friends were really upset in London when they did that. We took an afternoon flight so it's already dark when we get there. Check-in goes fine. They spoke English, but I was all ready with my dictionary... and if need be, I could use the wifi to type phrases into Google Translate. There is an elevator. It was tiny, but it fit my new luggage, me, my hubby and his two backpacks. Our room is off to the corner. This place is beautiful. Our room is really nice. There is a tv that I used a lot while we were in the room. I tried watching some of the Italian channels, but ended up on an English channel and watched a movie. While we did have to use the shared toilet (that was on our floor) and the shared shower on the fourth, I didn't mind it. There was a sink in our room, so we could brush our teeth... that was helpful. Breakfast is really good. There's a cold buffet and a server bringing out coffee. From the cold buffet, I had cereal and buns... there were cheeses and a charcuterie plate... Everything was yummy. I was really happy with the food and the server was really nice... same lady the two mornings we were there. We spent one early evening at the rooftop garden. We got a glass of wine and a bottle of beer delivered... it was a nice place to sit, while I read my Lonely Planet. The location is really central to everything. We walked to everything... the Leaning Tower isn't that far away... the train station wasn't either. We were able to walk there, hauling our luggage to catch our train. Plus, plus, plus... lovely ice cream shop half a block away with really reasonable prices and servings. We also ate at a pizza place in the same square... and had a drink at the coffee bar next to it...

Although the decor in the bed room was grey and black, a bit depressing, but the bathroom was bright like green, a bit random. The WiFi was exceptional. There were no coffee making facilities. Which, when up late working, wanted a coffee I couldn't buy one from the hotel, or make myself one, so that wasn't that great. The hotel decor doesn't know what it wants to be, futuristic rooms, then vintage bicycles with flowers in the restaurant, but with the modern plastic seating. The food wasn't all that. It was okay. A bit bland. The breakfast was okay too, did the job; just nothing wow about either to be fair. There were outdoor seating areas, which was quite cool, but nowhere to layout if you wanted to catch a few rays. There was no vending machine or anything like that in the hotel, the nearest shop is a 15 walk away, so that was a bit annoying. The toilet roll was the really cheap nasty stuff. Bus stop right out the front of hotel which is perfect for jumping on and getting to the centre of Pisa (train station). I have to say though, we had to leave early and left some stuff in the room, try didn't have to, but they were kind enough to refund the days we checked out early and also post us back the stuff that we left, which was really kind of them. I think if you're here with a car and not staying in the hotel during the day then this would be perfect. Prices for it was reasonable too.

I gotta say though, this place is UNIQUE. They've got this future theme going on and with all the buttons, designs, and overall navigation of the hotel, it felt like you were in a spaceship in the year 2020 if you know what I mean. We would definitely stay here again to stay away from the hustle and bustle of the inner city hotels. Oh, and the breakfast buffet is pretty good. Go early as it gets busy.

I walked over from the airport at midnight and felt like I was completely safe. They have 24 hour concierge service which is very convenient as well. The total for the night was around 14-16 euros. They also emailed me about an all-you-can-eat dinner for only 5 euros, which sounds like a great deal. I appreciated the low price for the stay, but of course it was low for a reason. The rooms were really humid and did not have any kind of ventilation. Even though I used their fresh sheets somehow I ended up finding bug bites on my body over the next few days. They are very accommodating and convenient for travelers, but I probably would look around at other options (if they were cheaper but better) before coming back.

It was super close to the airport to the point that my friend that was already staying there met me and my other friend at the terminal and then we walked back in about 10-15 minutes. But my absolute favorite part was having a whole pizza for only 4 euros and the fact that it was arguably one of the best meals I had in Italy all together. They also have a buffet of pizza, pasta, rice dishes with one drink for 7 euros, which was super good. And I also liked the outside that had a huge screen that we could watch the world cup on Whenever I go back to Pisa, this will be my first stop.
