Disillusioned...went with a Collette Tour...would never go to this hotel or a Collette Tour again.
I emailed the hotel a few times re: needing a quiet room. We paid extra for a superior room. The quiet side of the hotel (Ercolini and Savi) had jack-hammering outside for 6 hours a day (stopping from 2pm to 4pm for siesta) and noise from traffic and drunken people at night. The staff does call this the quiet side despite the jackhammering noise.
In no particular order:
1. No newspaper...staff can't tell us where to get an English newspaper. We were able to get one paper the entire trip...(
2. No postage stamps
3. Can't change money at the hotel Can't tell you where to change money.
4. The only place to buy soda (coca cola) was in a glass in the "bar" or in the room. Expensive! I was not able to find a supermarket for a couple days. No help from the front desk.
5. When asking at night where to go to eat...the staff said,,, just check things out on the square but things might not be open after 10pm (thanks). Note: places are open late.
6. Bar....it was really a service bar...not really to sit around and talk.
7. Lobby... not really conducive and all the chairs lean way back...not good for people's backs Very bland design
8. Elevator....only one elevator runs to the 4th floor...not told this so needed to walk up the last flight of stairs.
9. The elevator that does go to the 4th floor was very small and cramped with over two people in it and no more than 4 could fit no matter what.
10. Need to put the keycard into a slot to have the lights go on. The staff at the front desk laughed when I called to ask how to turn on the lights.
11. A/C need to be sure that all the windows are shut tightly or it won't go on . The lights or AC were not mentioned. And, the hotel was helped to both profit and energy saving by the maid opening a window a little and unplugging my electricity adapter daily so that my electronics weren't charged.
12. Chairs: there was a picture on the website (note that I was told that their website pictures were being changed next week) with a superior room with 2 wicker chairs, a table and a tea set. I was told that this did not exist and those chairs did not exist. The picture was just for the presentation. The chair in our room was broken. After I complained a couple times, they brought up 2 auditorium chairs and a small (about 1.5 to 2 ft diameter table. So, we mainly sat on the beds
13. Breakfast... small coffee cups. 4oz glasses
14. Breakfast first day...no coffee brought in until 8am and we were leaving at 830am. The scrambled eggs were cold. The hinge on the food warmer was broken so difficult to keep open.
15. Dinner first night. Very small portions, below average in taste. Could not recommend the restaurant at all.
Staff was not helpful. The night staff was lying down on the lobby furniture when I came down at 6am on the last day.
It is a town with spas. obviously no spa at this hotel. Very basic. The other people said that the walls were paper thin.
I am upset with paying for a poor experience and unable to leave since we were on a tour.
