Hotel Spinne is the hotel you want to stay at in Grindelwald. ROOM It feels like you're staying at the most welcoming but at the same time luxurious cabin in the middle of Switzerland. Our room on the first floor had just the most jaw-dropping front and center view of the Eiger mountains. You just can't beat the feeling of being able to walk out to the balcony and your backyard is the snow-covered Swiss mountain ridge. Being able to go out and sit on the wooden chairs and using the table made of a tree ring is the kind of rustic and quaint comfort you want while being able to soak in all of the natural beauty you're afforded. Inside you'll have a comfortable and plush bed in a very spacious room with all wooden furniture. The decor should be in an interior design magazine because it is log cabin chic. The restroom is modern and This is the kind of stay that embodies a full experience in Switzerland. SPA As far as amenities goes, Hotel Spinne is first class. You won't believe how nice their spa area is and access to the spa is included. It is a modern and vibrantly lit spa on par with many spa/lounges in Los Angeles. What is truly impressive is just how many features the spa includes. There's a eucalyptus steam room, sauna, jacuzzi, and another sauna that burns cardamom and a combination of herbs. The coolest (pun intended) part is the ice bath pathway. You get to walk through a block of ice! Then a shower of icy water finishes off the experience. It is invigorating and great when you've spent the entire day hiking and need to cure those aches. When you need to hydrate there is fully stocked herbal/floral teas and water pitchers ready. It was the ultimate relaxation experience and a haven for tranquility. SERVICE The concierge is tremendous and want nothing but the best for your stay. They give you everything you need upon check-in so that everything is comfortable. They provided us with a number of adapters for our electronic devices, were thorough with housekeeping, and were honest! We left euros on our nightstand and it was right where we left it. Fantastic service all around. BREAKFAST The breakfast is easily one of the best breakfast offerings I've had. It is set in a beautiful and regal dining area. You could easily spend hours leisurely enjoying all the top-notch food. You'll find fresh bread constantly refilled which includes some croissants topped with sesame seed that are to die for. Their loaves of bread are equally delicious. The fruits are diverse and cut in the perfect serving sizes which not many hotels will take the time and effort to do. I really enjoyed their cheeses of which they have almost every single kind you can imagine all on a platter accompanied with cheese knives. There was a brie type cheese that was the most buttery and smooth cheese I've tasted. Those are some happy Swiss cows producing these cheeses for sure. Finally there are numerous beverages such as their fresh fruit juices including an apricot juice that was amazing. Can't say enough about their breakfast because it was so good. LOCATION Right by the wonderful C und M cafe that you'll likely be visiting more than once because of the great homemade meals. It is a mere 5 minute walk the other way to the train station and on the way you'll pass a Coop and a Laderach chocolate shop. CONCLUSION Hotel Spinne somehow manages to seamlessly blend the homeliness of a cabin with the modern comfort of a 5-star hotel. The surrounding natural beauty could not be closer and just makes this a must-stay hotel if you want an unforgettable and uniquely Swiss experience.

From the months leading up to our stay to our initial steps into Grindlewald from the train station they thought of every way possible to make our stay extraordinary. We were there from Christmas Eve through the 30th and had the most magical Christmas. They brought a mini Christmas tree up to our room upon request so we could have an authentic Christmas morning with our kids. Staff reached out months prior to find out our son's names and then Father Christmas himself handed out personalized gifts to every child using their full names at a Christmas gathering. Even for the adults was a once in a lifetime experience. Skiing from this hotel location is a Breeze. Couldn't be a better location. The views are incredible. The pool table was one of the huge highlights of our stay. Food is amazing. Breakfast easy and divine. Can't say enough. You meet the owners and their family. You feel the love and care they put into the place. We've told everyone it's a place you must visit!

We arrived in the morning, so our room was not quite ready, but they encouraged us to store our suitcases and walk around a bit. Within less than 30 minutes, our room was ready and with an upgrade. Although we did not pay the extra for an Eiger view, we had such a charming view out of our balcony window. However, our bathroom window afforded us the most picturesque view as it looked down over the town and the quintessential Swiss alpine homes. The room was nice sized for the two of us, pristine with comfortable beds and the ubiquitous comforters along with a kettle, refrig, and all the necessary items including robes and slippers. Plenty of place to hang clothes and drawer space was more than enough. The bathroom was a good size and offered the aforementioned window, which was so pleasant to open in a steamy bathroom if desired. Town was a mere 5 minutes away up a slight hill. We were told we could get a free bus ride almost outside the hotel but enjoyed the walk. The hotel is nestled on a lot that while so close to town, feels very private. The flowers were in bloom and the landscaping is serene. The hotel was very quiet although it was almost at capacity. Children were in the hotel but no loud noises or squeals. My favorite part of the hotel was by far the clean and beautiful indoor pool. As a daily swimmer, I have swum in pools of decreasing clarity and hygiene. The Belvedere's pool wins over all hotels ever, which is a lot, and pools in the U. S. and Europe. The atmosphere was Zen-like and the extras, spa, showers, and towels were lush. A close second to the pool were the abundant breakfasts in the hotel's restaurant. A virtual serve-yourself spread of breads, eggs, meats, oatmeal, fruits, pastries, hot chocolate, teas, and coffees were available in a relaxed setting looking out at the Eiger. It was hard every morning to pull ourselves away to go hiking or shopping. We had fondue one night in the hotel, which was filling and excellent. Again, the view adds to any meal in the restaurant and reservations were easily made at the front desk. If one plans in advance, which we did not, they even offer fondue meals in little Männlichen gondola, which looked so cozy and romantic! The owners, a fourth generation, I believe, hosted a canapes and champagne evening one night, which we attended. They were lovely; we stayed a few minutes and then wandered out to the magnificent wrap around porch with the sweeping views of the Watterhorn and the north face of the Eiger, and perhaps the Monch. I didn't use the hot tub but believe all three can be seen from it. The porch is spacious and has places to sit and sip a drink and couches to enjoy the views. The stay was made even more wonderful by the gracious front desk personnel, who were always accommodating to my requests. They helped me discuss the best type of train pass to get and offered suggestions for day trips. Upon our return each afternoon, we were greeted by name and welcomed back. They always asked about our day and our plans for the evening. Nothing was intrusive. It felt like we were returning home each evening. When we had an early morning departure, they offered to-go cups and wished us a lovely trip. We never felt as if we were a room number; we felt like cherished guests even though we didn't have the most expensive suite nor eat dinner every night there. They seemed to genuinely want us to enjoy our trip, do what we wanted, be available to help us with plans, and return as friends each day/night. Their extra touches like nuts and candies at the snack bar and pin cushions with safety pins illustrate their attention to detail and desire to meet their guests' needs and wants. Well done! This is our fourth visit to the Hotel Grindelwald but our first to the Belvedere. We hope to return many times in the future! PS - any questions, just ask.

You can walk from the station with your luggage, it's not that bad. If you rent a car they also had parking available too! It has everything you need: amazing rooms with views, a restaurant, bar, spa, a FREE laundry room, gym. I knew coming here it would be my time to relax and not really do much as I was traveling other places before. I picked this hotel for many reasons, but basically what I listed above was it, and once I arrived, everything exceeded my already high expectations. I had room 106 and it had the LARGEST patio ever. It came with a double swing, patio seats and table, and where do I even begin with the amenities in the room. A fantastic bluetooth speaker, bathrobes, slippers, coffeemaker, cups, wine glasses, etc. It was the most comfortable room ever. Spa was hands down just as gorgeous as it looks. Seriously message me if you want me to gush more. If you plan on wanting ZERO plans and just hanging around taking advantage of the hotel, this is your spot. The staff worked so hard- Dominique I saw you each morning for my FREE (included) breakfast and she was so attentive and sweet. Roger, my massage was AMAZING. Fabulous technique! I want to hug everyone who was there for my vacation 2/21-25 THANK YOU SO MUCH! If you're on the fence, you shouldn't be! BOOK THIS NO MATTER WHAT you will feel right at home! They even gave me parting cookies at check out, like for real, you guys are just magical.

The location is very central and everything is easily accessible. The hotel provides services of picking and dropping from the train station. They picked us up and dropped us off at the train station. Breakfast was included in our reservations and they have nice buffet style breakfast with lots of great options . The swimming pool is nice to enjoy as a family. They also have a kids play area. Loved their outdoor patio with the beautiful views. I am taking two stars off because the housekeeping never took the towels that I kept on the floor to be taken away and replaced. Instead of replacing the towels that were on the shower floor, they folded the wet towels and put them back for us to use instead of giving us new ones. Also, their hotel restaurant adlerstube - has really bad service. The blond lady is extremely rude, they kept us waiting to order for a really long time. Finally food arrived and it was really good but again no one came to check if we needed anything. Also the check never arrived , finally waiting for a good 20 minutes I went up to ask to pay. Food was good but because of the service it ruins the whole experience . The hotel needs to be mindful of this and make sure they are looking into it.

The room was clean and spacious with a beautiful view of the falls. Usually we don't like to eat at the hotels where we stay (unless we have to), but the restaurant here was top notch. Liked it so much we ate there 2 of the three nights we were in town. I had the deer both nights, absolutely scrumptious). Their pizzas seem popular, though we did not have one. Super conveniently located across the street from the train station and next to the cable car up to Murren and next to the Coop Grocery (easy to pick up snacks or a bottle of wine). Not for the faint of heart, though. Dragging our bags up the hill to the property was a job - thankfully we were up to it, but if you're booking keep your fitness level in mind (or maybe the hotel offers some sort of help? I didn't ask.) I would definitely recommend staying here. If ever back in Lauterbrunnen, I would stay again.
