First of all, I am very shocked to think that I am actually writing this kind of review for a well-established company like the Hyatt. I am a native New Yorker, specifically a native Nyacker, born and raised and am very familiar with the location of the Hotel. I was very excited when the previous hotel "The Time Hotel" with Bobby Van's Steakhouse arrived in Nyack. I was equally excited when the Hyatt arrived in Nyack I I was expecting the same exceptional customer service; however, I was extremely disappointed to say the least. I am a part of a nonprofit organization that sponsors functions and fundraisers. I hoped to continue the long success of having functions at a location in the town we are so proud of and a hotel chain that is very nice, elegant with great and competent customer service. I have to tell you, to make a long story short. I was beyond disappointed. This is not The Time Hotel, the customer service stinks and is unprofessional. I spoke to the Director of Sales Christine, who was going to send an email and availability for events to myself and my business partner. She was going to include the Director of Food & Beverage. I waited 3 weeks no email no call. I left several messages and even went to the location. I was unsuccessful trying to reach her. I then made a decision to call the Director of food and Beverage Ziya Turgut to find out what exactly was going on, several calls to him did not get returned. What a Mess!! Wait, it gets better lol, I then go up the ladder to the General Manager Erica. Hey, I actually got someone on the phone, my lucky day. She apologized for her staff, promised she would take care of the total disrespect and lack of response. I quote " This is my team, they work for me, I promise I will find out what happened, I will get back to you by Monday March 24th". You guessed it, crickets" Nothing, I left messages for Ziya, Christine, and the GM Erica and absolutely Nothing. I feel so stupid to think I was going to get a response and maybe a reasonable explanation for the total lack of respect. I wish I could give this Hotel a score lower than 1 but there is no Zero category. The bottom line is IF YOU ARE PLANNING AN EVENT IN NYACK OR THE SURROUNDINGS DO NOT CONSIDER HOTEL NYACK. They are a joke. Go talk to Angelo at the "Nyack Seaport" tell him Roderick sent you. You won't be disappointed, and you won't waste your time for a month like I did. read more

We stayed at Hotel Nyack on the night of our anniversary in January. Wow! Can't say enough good things. The staffwas super friendly, especially Deborah at the front desk and Jesus in the restaurant. The food at the restaurant was delicious, and the drinks were well made. Salsa on Friday nights and jazz on Saturday nights make it a great place to go for fun even if you're not staying the night. And the prices, especially considering the clean, new rooms, were very reasonable. We would definitely stay there again. read more

The aesthetics in this hotel are pretty cool. Very modern and clean rooms. However, a few downsides such as check-in was delayed for over 2 years, as a "compensation" we received two drink vouchers which we then found out were welcome drinks...therefore the staff did not really do anything for us due to their delay. Another issue is the AC unit in our room was very loud, so if you are light sleeper it might be issue or maybe it was just that particular room. The pool area is not very big and since we went during a holiday weekend it was impossible to find a place to shit or even use the pool. Our wedding, which took place on 07/29/3023 was marred by numerous discrepancies between the contractual agreements and the invoices presented to us leading to confusion & ultimately affecting our financial settlement. The confusing is mostly due to recurring turnover of designated points of contact within the venue, which transpired 3 times within a single year. We were left without a designated point of contact as the manager was on vacation. We were sent a bill 3 days before our wedding that we did not agree on. Subsequently, we did not countersign. Only one of our rooms was ready at check in & we were not provided opportunity to discuss the bill because there was no point of contact. On the day of our wedding one of the hottest days in July , the AC system in the reception area malfunctioned. There was no apology from the venue for the inconvenience. Our guests were left sweating in a small room with no air circulation because they closed the doors. Several other issues arose, including the missing contracted services: passed champagne service, confusion among the service staff regarding vegetarian meal provisions, incorrect dessert deliveries, and the glaring omission of champagne for the wedding toast. The night of our wedding my wife was crying hysterically while writing an email to the manager about how upset she was. My complaint relies in the fact we did not agree to the final charges. We were then charged the money on our debit card. A debit card in which they did not have signed authorization to charge. They made several small charges on our debit card. One for 4,000, 2,000 and 1,000. Clearly the reason why was so that the charges would go through because they did not have our consent. We made a complain to Hyatt corporate and they agreed that these actions were outrageous based on the service we received and the level of communication. They allowed the location to resolve the issue and the manager said that there would be no resolution. read more

Absolutely disgusted with the Hotel Nyack. I had my wedding room block there this past weekend, which resulted in the following: 1. Front desk told my guests the wrong times for the shuttle busses, which caused mass confusion. 2. I flagged the mother of the groom as VIP as well as the sisters of the groom. Mother of the grooms bathtub was filthy and sister of the grooms room had Ants in the bed. 3. Zero housekeeping services and I mean zero. Not even for VIP extended stay rooms, not even to remove trash. And it wasn't a hospitality short staffed issue. When I talked to Chloe (Sales Manager) pre wedding she told me they were fully staffed (unlike so many hotels). I mean at least take out the trash? 4. Air conditioners broken in 2 rooms and no discount offered at check in (during the Summer). 5. In order to get a hold of the hotel it's at least a 30 minute wait on the phone (zero direct lines). To make matters worse, when I talked to Chloe about all of this, she turned it around on me and eventually just hung up on me. As someone who has worked in hotels for 20 years at the Director Level, I would never recommend Hotel Nyack. If one of my Sales Managers spoke to me the way Chloe spoke to me, they would be out the door. Get your act together and represent the hospitality industry and Nyack appropriately. read more

New money vibes. Gorgeously designed but not thoughtfully implemented at all. Bar of soap and no soap dish. No telephone in the room...that kind of thing. Small details that add up. Party scene with a club vibe. Had a DJ in the restaurant that kept many guests up until past midnight with the loud bass. It was not a private party, this DJ was just for the public eating at the restaurant. Is their priority being a hotel with quiet accommodations or being a restaurant for outside guests with thumping music. It's pretty, don't get me wrong. Makes great instagram pics for sure but that's its strength. read more

I booked a couple of nights based on my booking site's reviews. I read the Yelp reviews the following day and immediately investigated canceling and finding lodging somewhere else. Luckily, nothing else seemed quite right. I practically went out of my way to find fault with Hotel Nyack based on the Yelp reviews, but simply couldn't. Sure, there were a few little things... Hotel staff should be trained on advising persons/provided with literature to give persons wishing to make day trips into Manhattan. Yeah, I can see how the darkness in the corridors might bother some (I thought it was kind of cool). A little piece of bed-stripping was coming off. And the upper-level entrance is just weird, and wouldn't be super-accessible if I had a disability. Otherwise... The staff was courteous and friendly without exception. The hotel was very clean and tidy. The food is decent. The decor is absolutely fabulous. I loved the carpeting, the Christmas decorations, the artsy, funky rooms... The beds are comfy. My girlfriend, who is pretty discriminating about lodging conditions and trappings, loved the place and would stay at Hotel Nyack again. It is very conveniently located. I concur with the comment on Lola, the thoughtful, hardworking, forgiving, gracious, kind breakfast attendant. If I owned a business in Nyack I'd hire her in a heartbeat. read more

Pros: bed- So incredibly comfortable. Lola. She works the breakfast shift in the restaurant and is the kindest human. Location- near town and convenient Cons: Bathrooms. Omg, redo the grout! Mildew, mold stains. Moved to another room for hotter water "nearer source." Felt dirty even if it wasn't. Products. The scents. No excuse for those products. Baby powder and old lady perfume. No. Heat/cooling: for the love of God, figure out a system more in line with current tech. Masks. We are still in a Pandemic. Hotel staff and guests should be wearing masks in the common areas. I am currently staying here, and it has been a hot mess since before check-in. I had to wait 40 minutes, with an extremely overtired one year old, just to get the key to my room. The AC in the living didn't work and the tub was leaking. We asked for a quiet room and would give up any kind of view for the quietest area they had. They put us above an extremely loud party above what I'm guessing is their conference room. It was to the point the floors were shaking. 10PM came around and it was still going. Luckily my one year old had finally passed out from exhaustion so we didn't have to endure that and screaming. All the front desk had to say was it would be over soon. We were offered no compensation or other accommodation. Do yourself a favor and pass on this overpriced nightmare. P.S. The bartender had some kind of nervous breakdown shortly after we got here and just walked out. read more

Horrible management and service or lack thereof. We arrived late in the evening but had a reservation. When we went to our room our bathroom had standing water around the toilet and the shower. When I state standing I do mean standing not just a puddle or two. We went down to let management know and they didn't compensate or really apologize in any way. Nothing like traveling 2900 miles and arrive to a room that has a flooded bathroom and then told there's nothing we can do. We let them know to cancel our reservation. I do not expect the counter person to jump through hoops but at least they could have made a more concerted effort to remedy the situation. So, we drove to Jersey City roughly an hour away near midnight to acquire a room. I write not to complain but for a business to improve their service. read more

Staff are all very welcoming and professional however my room was disappointing. There was an enormous water stain on the wall/curtain and dirty marks on the walls around the room. The website portrays the hotel as very upscale - it reminded me of a college dorm room decorated cheaply to appear upscale. read more

I stayed here almost 4 months ago when i had a business trip to Nyack March 28th and 29th of 2023 - My girlfriend and I stayed in room 233 - I awoke the morning of the 29th with what i thought was a very small rash on my left arm. I brushed it off and went on my way to the work convention i was in town for. The following morning on the 30th i woke up with more red welts on my left arm, back, sides, face and head. I headed back to Boston and immediately went to an emergency room to confirm what these welts were. They were confirmed as bed bug bites. After confirming these were in fact bed bug bites by a medical professional, I immediately called the front desk letting them know of this disgusting issue. The woman Sam who answered the phone seemed totally un phased and lacking empathy when i told her the bed bug issue and she told me a manager would contact me the following day regarding this issue via email. They emailed me an incident report to fill out to submit to their insurance to file a "claim" Rachael Ryan from Gallagher-Basset insurance reached out to me. She had me submit proof from a medical professional that they were indeed bed bug bites. She then sent me a non-disclosure agreement to sign with the "financial compensation" of $300.00 for my "pain and suffering" The fact a Hyatt Hotel would treat someone this way is beyond me. I really thought better of Hyatt. The mental and emotional toll this has taken on me has been astronomical and i will not be silenced for $300.00 Imagine driving 4 hours in traffic back to Boston wanting to rip your skin off because it itches so bad. read more

I'll start by saying the hotel staff was very kind and helpful. The hotel is designed by Glen Coben, who must have recently seen a Damien Hirst show. Which I'm not mad about but it was a bit forced. Though I did throughly enjoy the overall vibe of the place, with a few particular items seeming out of order. But overall a really lovely job, slightly gothic which I enjoyed. The particular room I was given was a shower room when I had indeed requested a bath room. So, that was a big let down. I had picked a bath room on purpose. My toilet's flush handle was broken. It would actually come out of the toilet and make it really annoying and very hard to flush at any times. My bathroom light also flickered constantly. I had told the staff they were going to fix it. But I was getting ready for a wedding and didn't have the time to let maintenance in to fix things while I was getting ready the one night I was there. The price was high for being out of the city in a nowhere town with several smaller and much cheaper hotels around. I was paying the price of a city hotel without the local site seeing. Which I thought was odd. If the pool had been opened the nearly $200 would have been more justified I suppose. So, for the price I did feel a bit ripped off overall. read more

We secured 100 rooms & ball room for breakfast . From the onset I experienced issues. Our Liaison (contact ) changed a total of 4 times. There seemed to be a high employee turnover rate. My E-mails were not returned , my payment plan was not followed, my receipts never issued. Therefore I kept on top of everything on my end. I had very little confidence that the Hotel Nyack could handle my event. Unfortunately I was right . Upon check in the front desk was understaffed & extremely overwhelmed . Many of our guests waited on line close to an hour , to be told their rooms were not ready, even though they previously checked in on line. Several rooms were still not ready hours after the 4 Pm check in. Rooms were double booked & room keys were not working .I personally went back to the front desk a total of 5 times to have my key "fixed". When I finally entered my room another guest's luggage was there. I never received a proper apology . There was no one on staff to problem solve nor make things right. The Hotel is poorly managed & totally lacking in Hospitality & Customer Service. This was reinforced by the GM who was extremely defensive, rude & condescending towards me . ( I gave her far too much grace then she deserved as I would not sink to her level. )Bottom line she said I am not doing anything for you because you got what you paid for. I personally spent over $9000. In closing I must say from the planning stages to our stay , we never felt valued or that our business was appreciated. The Nyack is fraught with so many problems, I do not place blame on the staff but I do blame the incompetent condescending GM . read more

Please do yourself a favor and ignore the chic photos and sprinkle of positive reviews of this hotel. From the get go, check in took forever. The hallways look very cool and at a first glance - your room does as well. . . Then things start to get noticed. An ancient unit on full blast cold on a freezing rainy day in November? Why?!? We immediately turned it to heat but with these massively high ceilings I'm sure it'll take until checkout to finally warm up with this set-up. We decided to hit up the restaurant downstairs because after an 8 hour dive, I couldn't handle one more second in the car. Our waiter Chris was great but the small amount of food we ordered was surprisingly bad. Soup: Campbell's is infinitely better Cesar Salad: admittedly delicious Burger: ordered medium rare came out so rare it was mush and the fries tasted like they had been days old leftovers that just kept getting thrown in the fryer. I am SO glad my husband talked me out of the $130 Tomahawk. If you can't get a simple burger and fries right, I can only imagine how they would ruin steak. Everywhere you look here you notice something. . . Mold, chipped paint, paper thin walls, questionable stains, waiting a lifetime for hot water. . . I could rattle off a dozen+ more. My biggest pet peeve is the BS $17 resort fee for -per their sign - beverages and granola bars (there is no complimentary breakfast on the weekends). The "beverages" were a single tub of ice water and the only other consumable seen was a jar of candy. I'd have been much happier at a slum motel where at least my teeth were not chattering and there was a not a light blinking from the ceiling that woke me up at least a dozen times. For $225+ all the fees, this falls way short of the stay I was expecting. This is a hard pass. Keep on driving. read more

We had a great time staying here at hotel Nyack. Melvin and Kevin at the bar are awesome people, great drinks, great food , and we had an amazing stay. The room was nice and cozy , couldn't ask for anything more. Looking forward to staying here during the summer to enjoy the pool and the hot tub. Definitely coming back. read more

This was the absolute worst experience I've ever had as a hotel guest. We were traveling from Brooklyn to attend a wedding in Peekskill and we couldn't find any decent looking accommodations near the venue. We decided to book the Hotel Nyack as it was the nicest looking hotel that was relatively close by. We were unable to book 2 nights, so we booked 1 for the night of the wedding and requested an early check in, as usual check in was at 4 pm but our wedding began at 2 pm. We called a week ahead to confirm if we could get early check in, and we were not helped whatsoever and told to just "show up" and see what they can do - which is not a great solution because if we arrive at 10 am and we're denied check in, we can't get ready for our wedding. But we decided to take the chance. We show up, and are surprisingly allowed early check in. I was very grateful until the front desk staff informed us the only reason we got to do so was because he's in training and made a mistake - and we shouldn't have gotten it to begin with. I completely understand they gave a policy but it was rude for them to communicate it this way. I decided to brush it off and have a good stay anyways - until we got to our room. First off, they key reader was a hole in the door with black paper over it. That was the first red flag. Upon first glance of the room, it was cute, until I looked closer. It was incredibly dirty and unfinished. Wallpaper coming off the walls. Dust in every corner. Weird stains on the walls. Mystery goop on the headboard which was also falling apart. The toilet was chipped and looked like a jail cell. It looked like a motel with cheap decorations. I was completely shocked and absolutely could not imagine sleeping there. We decided to immediately check out, head hone to Brooklyn, get ready very quickly for our wedding, and drive an hour and a half to the venue instead. It sucked, but it was worth it to not sleep at that disgusting hotel. Do not stay here. read more

Bar area is really nicely set up and a quick walk to the pool area as well. They had music and the place was really jumping. Bartender was really good, very personable and made some good drinks. We ended up being late for a wedding because we had to wait an hour past check-in to get our room, and when we finally opened the door there was already someone staying there. Staff shrugged it off. Hotel advertised as pet friendly but they don't tell you about $50/night pet fee until you arrive. The receptionist told us at check in on Saturday that there would be a continental breakfast the next day - there was not. It's only during the week. Tap water in the room tasted and smelled like mildew and if you look up in the bathroom you will see the bathroom waste lines from the upstairs room - gross! Walked in and room was dirty. There was candy left behind from the previous occupant on the floors, so I immediately know that the rooms aren't cleaned between guests. I was mad because I was with my 2 year old who could have eaten that candy had i not noticed it when we walked in.The floors and carpet were dusty as regular vacuuming doesn't happen here. The water pressure sucked in the shower and hot or even warm water seemed to not be available before 9 am. The room makes you feel like you're the Undertaker. It is soooo dark. They should consider lightening up the color palette if there is only going to be one frosted window in the room. Unfortunately my husband paid for the stay without thoroughly reading the reviews. All of the reviews are correct. The second star is for the staff at the restaurant. They are lovely people. Very accommodating and the best part of the hotel stay. I eventually checked into a 3 star hotel that was much cleaner and finally got a decent shower. The most immediate fix they could make is to I strict cleaning staff to vacuum or at least swiffer between guests and have maintenance ensure that the showers are working properly. No one wants to stay in a hotel without a proper bathroom or bed. That's what you're paying for! read more

So let me first start off by saying this is not a hotel but a motel. The walls are paper thin and the guests come in and out at 2 to 4 am. The bed was truly comfortable but the walls are super thin. There should be a quiet floor for older guests and an area where you can go if you want...well after hours activities. I am still waiting to see if someone has a quiet hotel out there, because this one is not it. All I can say is the staff is truly nice. I walked in and my tv wasn't working. The staff offers great customer service. Pretty hotel, schick , nice decor, open concept with high industrial ceilings. We met the food operations manager, Orlando, who is involved , very professional, walks around greeting the customers. Please note that the walls are thin and for that reason you hear your neighbors. The pool is nice but it could use some tidying up through out the day. That goes for the lobby bathrooms. Many bulbs were out by the garden. Overall a very nice hotel. read more

Had a fabulous night at The Hotel Nyack tonight. As a local, I hadn't thought about visiting area hotels. I saw on their Instagram they were having a Havana night. Although I'm not Cuban, who can pass up a fun evening of music and dancing !! I got some friends together and we had the most enjoyable night out. The music was on point. The crowd was dancing. Such a wonderful time ! I can't say enough about Mel our bartender. We always felt at home and appreciated. The Hotel Manager and even the GM came by to make sure all were having a good time. Tried to be hip, but ended up as just tacky. Balcony just a cement slab with two metal chairs, a stained metal table and a metal folding chair. Yes, we could see the bridge and the river, but mostly the highway right in front. Laminate furniture peeling apart . Had a "suite" that contained a sad "leather" pull out sofa. Keep driving! I had the misfortune of staying here as a midway point to my destination. Aside from a room with an AC that sounded like drums were inside of it, the noise from the neighbors was ridiculously loud because the walls are so thin they should be non existent. Problems start with their website. The amenities they list includes EV charging, but in fact they don't have it. Ask at the desk and they say it's in planning and make no apology for being dishonest on the website page. So I was "skunked" on my intent to charge my Tesla overnight. The big problem with the room is the lack of any sound insulation between rooms. My wife and I listened to our neighbor's TV all night, and to their arguments. (My sister was in a different room and said she had the same noise problem.) So we didn't get a good night's sleep, We won't stay there again. read more

Clean and cozy. But god help you dealing with their front desk. The Hyatt reservationist recorded the wrong check in date. Several 20 minutes-long phone calls later, the problem was supposedly resolved. However, once at the hotel, the reservation was still incorrect. Now, I have 3 erroneous charges on my statement and am on the phone with the front desk. This person is still confused as to which charges to delete. I have a feeling this isn't over. read more

Even if you have a reservation for this hotel, including a confirmation number, be aware that they may not fully honor it. My stay at this hotel ended up costing me an extra $200! Worse, the attitude and tone of the front desk, especially the woman called to supposedly fix the problem, was the worst I have ever experienced in the so-called hospitality industry. The rooms are also dark because the windows are very high (no doubt to block the highway and cemetery surrounding both sides), and in my room there was a steel beam smack in the middle of the room--which had me on edge that if I woke up during the night to use the bathroom I would crash right into it. Be aware too that if you think because it's a Hyatt they might intervene to restore your rightful $200, you'd be wrong. Went out for drinks last night. We ordered 2 bottles of water. When the bill came we were charged $36.00. When asked why we were charged so much we were told its the Cuomo law that you MUST order food with your drink and so since we hadnt ordered any they just added the price of 2 meals to our bill. We were never told of such a policy when we were seated, and furthermore the staff was rude and abrupt in insisting we pay for food we never ordered. Only after dealing with 2 of the employees and finally the manager did we resolve the issue. After further inspection we discovered this so called "Cuomo law" was repealled a month ago. Scammers. The Hotel Nyack wants to be a hip, modern and well-appointed property. It wants to offer rooms that are comfortable and pleasant to be in. Unfortunately, none of those things seem to be present. The hotel is built around a steel frame that invades the interior spaces in an attempt at delivering architectural modernism. What you get, instead, are walls draped in terrible Rorschach Test pictograms and steel beams that appear in both the halls and rooms. The third floor room I was assigned to was plain and drab. The air conditioner may have led a previous life as a jet engine. While delivering ample cooling, it was so noisy that keeping comfortable was almost a faustian bargain. A strong summer storm pelted the region and we soon discovered a torrent of water moving from the outer walls and ceiling into the living space, approaching our possessions. Luckily we were in the room at the time and could assign the spartan number of towels to dike-damn and diversion duty. A call to the front-desk delivered no useful or professional help. Other notables we observed - a plate and silverware set were left on the floor near our room for several days. Cleaning staff would come and go -- but no one appeared willing to accept overall property cleanliness as their duty. We saw the same thing in one of the restaurants. Mid-day, with staff sitting at the bar there were multiple tables with dirty plates and dishes waiting to be cleared. Hotel Nyack should not be your destination. Stayed here for my birthday. The room was dirty and so where the bed linens. Got an electric shock from the deck lamp due to a broken ground in the faulty outlet it was plugged into. The wall light was flickering and the usb chargers were humming and ruined one of out charging pads. The room never got to temp over night and was hot preventing us from sleeping along with the very bright smoke detector flashing light. The head board had had semen stains on it and my wife wouldn't shower cause the shower was so dirty. The remote control was broken and sensor for the tv had fallen behind the tv and we had to fix it to be able to use it. I wasn't going to complain until i got shocked by faulty electric. They said one of their main AC units was not working and the whole hotel was hot. After all of this they gave us 30% off. I got electrocuted and 2 hours sleep and a broken cell phone charger but sure... 30% off is cool. read more

What a disappointment. I have been here for 2 nights and made a separate reservation for my nephew and family for just tonite. (Friday) MISTAKE!! Night manager totally mismanaged this. During the day I PAID in full for the room and the day time manager put my nephews name in the reservation and added notes that when my nephew arrived there would be no issue. WRONG. Tonite I am woken up at 11:15 pm asking if my nephew can be added to my reservation?? I explained to Jasmine that this was worked out earlier todaY. She then gave my nephews keys to MY room! She missed the fact there was a separate reservation. I went down to th e lobby at 11:30 pm to insist she look further. She said she only found 2 resevaion, mine and my cousins. I said we were here for a memorial so there were many people in the hotel with the same name, After telling her REPEATEDLY that she was wrong she finally found his sperate reservation for a different room and gave me the correct keys. (He had a different first name as the day time manager inputted that.) Totally unacceptable behavior on the part of the overnight manager. Listen to you customer and do not talk over them and you would have found the COrrect room much quicker. Did NOT appreciate the security officer coming over. I was Not Loud nor abusive but just firm in my statements. You may want to Stay Away from Hotel Nyack It is Not the Time hotel anymore. read more
