It smelled like years of cigarette smoke even though maybe nobody had smoked in it for 15 years. My door lock didn't work so I put a chair under the knob. I had been on the road too long with two kids and just couldn't muster energy to be upset. HOWEVER, this is the way these places used to be, I think. Maybe. The beds were clean and comfortable. Shower and bathroom were clean (tiny tiny toilet, like 14" off the ground, again that's old school). The staff were very kind and this is a family owned business that likely saw it's hay day already. Beautiful plants in the atrium. Kind kitchen staff. It was cheap and we got 3 breakfasts out of it. Highway was not as noisy as other similar motels.
