This is a great little B&B that (obviously) enjoys American clientele. Not much in the way of parking, you'll have to fight to find a spot; however, it's only a few minutes walk from the Republicca Metro station, one stop away from Termini. The hotel entry is just a door and a buzzer along the wall, so it's easy to miss unless you're looking for it. Ring the bell, they'll buzz you in and then you take the lift up to the 4th Floor to check in. The lift is a bit tight and more manual than most Americans are used to, but it's easy to figure out.
The front desk staff is friendly and speak decent English. They were extremely helpful in getting us orientated on how to approach our tourist checklist, and they have maps right there to assist.
Our room was on the same floor as the check in, but our friends were down on the first floor. I'm not sure how widespread the hotel is throughout the building. The breakfast area is also on the fourth floor and features self-serve caffe machines (cappuccino, americano, lattes, etc), cereal and breads/pastries. If you want fresh fruit, you can find a fruit stand at the bottom of Via Firenze and bring your own.
Our hotel room was a double, which entails two single beds smashed together under a single set of sheets and covers. The bathroom was functional, but the shower leaked a bit in the corner where the two sliding 'curtain walls' were supposed to meet up. The rooms were great, but are sparse enough to encourage the guests to get out and see Rome; which is what we wanted to do anyways!
There is free wi-fi in the common areas (the patio, front desk and breakfast areas).
Would happily return to this place should we get to go to Italy again! read more
