The shower door only covers half the shower so water goes everywhere. A group member flooded her bathroom because of the stupid door. A family room is too small. There is a small cot/twin bed and a queen bed. Small tv in the room. Outlet in the bathroom isn't powerful enough for my roommate to use the blow drier. No air conditioning so we had to open the window and put white noise on my phone so we wouldn't hear the city noise. There isn't room for our suitcases. We have to large ones and one small one. There is tea in the closet along with water by the sink. read more

This is a perfect hotel for what it is. It's affordable and next to the airport. Service is friendly and the in house restaurant menu is impressively extensive. Rooms are slightly larger than the human body and windows are so small they feel as if they should not meet egress requirements. A room with 2 twin beds means the beds are so close, it would be uncomfortable to stay with someone with whom you are not in an intimate relationship. I thought the room was clean, modern, and comfortable. The bathroom was a bit dim, and the open shower made it a bit chilly (I like to have a steam cocoon). The small dinner buffet was tasty. Having to wait until 6:30 a.m. for a complete breakfast caused me to tighten up my airport arrival. There was a good array of simple breakfast items, including alternatives to milk, for cereal. The best part about this hotel is how close it is to the airport. I was very annoyed then the website said they have a hotel shuttle to contact the hotel for details. I did contact them to find out I have to take a local bus to get here. **when you land follow the signs for local bus station. Then when you get there walk outside and there is a stand strictly for all 3 buses that stop here. Once on that bus, keep your eyes open for the holiday inn stop. You won't see this hotel from the bus, but you can see the holiday inn. Once dropped off, walk along the busy road towards the airport bowl sign, and then the hotel is next to that. Okay... so now you made it to the hotel after already going through stressful Heathrow Airport. Hotel: When I walked in the hotel was crazy busy for a World Cup soccer game. I had no idea where check in was. The whole place looked like a huge bar. *i paid $70 on line, the hotel advertised prices of $120! I would NOT pay over $80 to stay here! I had to ask a server where check in was. The guy who checked me in was super nice and the whole process took less than 5 minutes.... but weirdly he only asked me my name, never once to see an ID. I'm assuming since I paid online for the hotel. But still really weird. Unlike previous reviews I actually couldn't hear one airplane or anything from my room. I did get a solid sleep. Hotel room was very basic, AC which never officially cooled the room down but kept it from being miserable, Black out curtains for the surprising sunny sun, 2-smaller than average size towels. Weird the bed does have a flat sheet to sleep under, it was just the sheet that's on top of the mattress and a comforter. All in all it's fine for a layover. I was here 9 hours and that was enough. Think of this as a glorified dorm room and honestly for the price it's not bad at all. Let's be fair people complain about this that and the other but don't want to pay a damn penny so there's that. For around 70$ it's as good as it gets this close to the airport. The rooms are small, or maybe even tiny but that's what you were paying for ! The bathrooms were clean , the sheets crisp and the staff was friendly to a fault ! The check in and out processes was so easy it is almost criminal how easy it is. My phone had no charge and I had no adaptor , but they were able to charge my phone for me which was awesome! The attached restaurant staff was also equally friendly and a special thank you to Nikos who hooked me up with some decaf coffee so late at night It is a 6£ cab ride to the airport and that makes it better still ! read more

I had to spend a night in the UK on my way back to LAX from Madrid, and this hotel was advertised to be close to Heathrow via HOPPA bus. I'm unhappy with the bus but that's not the hotel's fault. I arrived at this budget hotel on a Saturday night, and was greeted by party goers dressed exuberantly for where they were. The guy at the counter was very welcoming and quickly checked me in. I had no clue what to expect from this place, but was pleasantly surprised. My room was small but intelligently compact. There was a tiny TV, a door-less closet and shelves with a counter / desk with a teapot and various teas. Carpet was clean, bathroom wasn't too small and clean. Let me just gush about the bed though... Lawdy jesus, that bed is the stuff of dreams! Big, soft but firm, adapted to my body so well I knocked the fuck out. The pillows were thin but memory foam like. I still dream of that damn bed. The bathroom was nice, but that's where I take off a star. The shampoo/body wash/conditioner is a big no no, in its squeeze friendly tube. And why did the shower lack a door?? I made a watery mess when I showered :( regardless of this, there's free WiFi and that bed... So worth it. read more

This is a very affordable hotel near Heathrow Airport. Having said that, you certainly get what you pay for (£75 per night for two adults). Pros: 1) Checking in and out is extremely efficient since you can do it online. 2) The staff at the reception desk are pleasant and helpful. They will even print out your boarding pass for you. 3) The lobby, restaurant, and lounge has a very modern and inviting decor as well as an interactive touch screen map. 4) There is transportation available to the airport terminals via bus(free, but you have to walk a couple blocks with your luggage to the bus stop), Hoppa bus (£5 per person; the bus is available every 20 minutes at the front entrance of the hotel) or taxi (£10 per ride). Cons: 1) We wanted to print out our boarding passes but had to do this in a round-a-bout way. Since there were no printers available for guests (a bit odd for an airport hotel, don't you think?), you had to use the guest computers to check in at the airline website and type in Ibis' email address so that the reception desk can print it out for you. After waiting in the queue at the reception desk, there was only one receptionist (out of three staff members) who was successful in printing out our boarding passes. 2) Our hotel room was average. The bathroom smelled like it had been used after our room had been cleaned. Although the ceiling, walls and wood closets looked like they've been replaced, the carpet was dirty, old, and worn out. There also was a scarcity of electrical outlets (I had to charge my iPhone in an awkward corner by the electric kettle and landline). The twin beds (two singles) were comfortable, but they were placed so close together that it just might have been a double bed. 3) After looking at the reviews of the hotel restaurant, I decided to walk to McDonald's (which was ten minutes away) and buy takeout. Too bad there wasn't anything else that was nearby. I didn't regret my decision either. When I returned, some greeters at the restaurant were offering complimentary drinks (mojitos?) to potential patrons. The drinks looked like the sludge in the Slurpee machines at 7 Eleven. First strike: we arrived at the hotel around 12:45 PM to an angry looking blonde girl with dyed hair/visible face piercings who appears to be going through her David Bowie rebellion stage in life. "You can't check-in right now, its not 2:00 PM yet." she states in an annoyed voice. "But if you pay an additional $10 GBP, you can check in right now." WTF is this...any other hotel would have just allowed me to check in early if a room was available. I understand if there were no rooms ready yet, I'd wait but given that this is an airport hotel with high turnover, I doubt they are ever fully booked. Tired from the Eurostar (came in from Paris), my brother and I decided to just pay as we wanted to go into the room and rest. Strike 2: We take the lift to our floor: as the elevator doors open, there is heavy stench of mold that permeates to my olfactory nerves. WTF I think to myself. We step out of the elevator and here is where the story gets funny. Dirty towels and linens are scattered everywhere on the floor. Three room service workers appear to working hard to "clean" the dirty rooms but believe that contaminating the surround alley way and elevator area with dirty linens is the best way. We walked past a worker who makes no attempt to get out of the way despite us carrying bags. The flith, decor, and smell is reminiscent of a 1 star Skilled Nursing Home--I pray if you never been in a SNF, you never have to experience the sights/smells/and culture of one. Strike 3: we enter our room. Once again the smell of mold is apparent. Contrary to the reviews that this place has an Ikea-esque decor/set-up, the room and decor looks like it is dated 30 years ago. FML, I think to myself. Someone on Yelp said the beds are sooooo comfy. FALSE. The two twin sized beds feel like a 10 year old bed that a Hobo slept on during a hurricane and who donated it to this establishment due to water damage. I disgress...anyways, I check out the bathroom, which is stocked with two small hand towels and all in one shampoo/bubbles/handsoap/body wash pump that looks and smells like it was purchased from the dollar store. Unless you can dry entire body with a hand towel and a small blow dryer that looks like it was made in the 80s, I suggest you skip the shower. Oh and the beds are stocked with just a thin top sheet to cover yourself. Like WTF, it's November and you guys only provide a thin top sheet to keep us warm? And lastly, the soap I mentioned earlier is installed in some anti-theft device. Like who in the world would steal that garbage. We loved the Ibis near Heathrow and will come back if we need a hotel again near the airport! The hotel has a great lobby/lounging area; the bar in the middle, a restaurant and the reception desk all part of it. There's even a tiny library. All cool and hip looking and comfortable. The rooms were super clean, although a bit small but the price is right. The bathroom was nice. And they had a water kettle with porcelain cups which we loved so we could make tea! There is a chart with all the possible transportation to the airport, very nice. We chose to take the regular bus. The bus stop is only 2 minutes away across the street. Cheap and it goes all the way to the terminal. We had a little problem with the room but it was solved quickly and to our satisfaction. We missed our connecting flight on British Airways, so they placed us at Ibis Hotel. We took the bus #56 to get to the hotel. Luckily we didn't have to pay for the bus ride since it cost 9 pound! So expensive once you convert to US dollars. The hotel was an average 3 star hotel. It was really close to the airport, but too far to do any sightseeing. Amenities included: hairdryer, coffee pot, towels, flat screen TV, soap, and shampoo. No clock in the room. Internet and unlimited movies usage in room was 9.99 pound. We opted to use free internet at the two computers near the front desk. The restaurant was not great. For dinner, we had to choose two items off a menu that British Airways created. The two items could be either a salad, main entree, or dessert. We had garden salad without any dressing. My husband had the fish and chips which wasn't bad. I had the chickpea curry with rice. The curry was not good, but I still ate it. The restaurant was understaffed so our food took a long time. The breakfast was better since there were cereal, toast, eggs, hashbrowns, sausage, etc. The typical American breakfast items. I was happy to get my cereal, hash browns, and some fruit. Yay. Decent prices for in house food just like any pub would charge. Free wifi. As far as Ibis hotels go, this one was pretty good! The lobby is very busy but nevertheless check-in was astoundingly painless and there were multiple desk agents volunteering to help with my check-in process upon arrival. I think it took two minutes or less! The rooms are pretty standard for Ibis; small beds and a smallish room but everything was clean and looked relatively new compared to another Ibis I had stayed in. Unfortunately, there was a lot of noise on our floor due to a rambunctious group, but they moved us when we requested a room change to avoid the noise. Of course, the biggest drawback is the airplanes you will hear taking off and landing basically all night, but what do you expect when you are this close to Heathrow? There isn't an official airport shuttle, but you can take a bus easily from here to the airport, and getting an Uber or taxi is also pretty cheap. Getting into the city of London itself isn't so easy--about an hour trip--but still doable via public transit if you are budget-conscious. Given the location, I would recommend this more as a stayover if you are connecting and have an overnight layover vs. if you are going to London, as there are a lot of other Ibises you can stay at that are nearer to the city center. read more

Stayed over one night (5 March 2020) and everything was great, aside from one major issue - the person overseeing the continental breakfast. When I booked the room and checked in - no advance booking, I walked up - I was told there would be a continental breakfast available from 4:00am to 6:00 (or something to that timeline) and then a full English breakfast available after that. As I had a flight leaving at 8:00am I decided to head down at 4:30 for the continental breakfast. After I was seated and eating, and the only person there, she approached me and asked what room I was in and I told her. A few moments later she informed me in no uncertain terms that breakfast was not available to me. When I explained that I was told differently she told me that it was only available to those who book a room in advance and that I was to leave immediately. If this is actually the case, it's a ridiculous rule - especially since, as I said, it WAS mentioned to me that both breakfast options were available - and she could have handled the situation much differently. Instead she chose to try to make me feel as if I had broken a rule or a law. Personally, I think she needs retraining or a course in dealing with the public but that's not up to me. Aside from this lone incident, everything went well above average and the hotel itself is fantastic. Very modern and efficent and the rest of the staff was amazing to deal with. My husband had been robbed and left with no credit cards and a cell phone with an iffy cord. Nicky helped me make a reservation using my credit card here in the US and she kindly checked my husband in with a smile. Kush baled my husband out by providing a cell phone cord. The use of his cell phone was vital as he was waiting word from the US Embassy on the status of his getting a new passport. Reasonable price and great location for an early morning flight. There is a free shuttle bus to the airport (didn't find out about it right away and ended up using the hotel's own Hoppa bus), which was great. Used the Tube from Heathrow to get into Central London, which took almost a hour, so not the greatest hotel if you want to be centrally located. We had a 6am flight, so it was perfect. The room was very small - definitely not the size we're used to in North America. Small TV, great shower, and a kettle with instant coffee and tea along with some cookies. They didn't have wireless available in the room, but it wasn't an issue to use the wired one. Definitely recommend this hotel if you've got an early morning flight. I'll stay again. read more

Took the free bus from the bus station (105, 111, 140 just tell them your going to the hotel at get off at Holiday Inn). It was nice, we got a good nights sleep and when we woke there were so many people there. Easy check out and didn't hold a card even though we booked on Expedia. They had free water, tea, and coffee in the lobby, and we took the free bus back to the bus station at Heathrow on the way back, to catch the bus you walk on the otherside of the street. Make sure to get out once you see the bowling alley or the hotel, we got out a few stops early and ended up walking a bit of the way. -The bedding and room stuff is reasonable, nothing special but not terrible. Cons: -The food in the restaurant downstairs is terrible. I ordered the nachos with jalepenos and it was just chips with cheese on the top that had been thrown into a microwave. I ordered a ginger ale and it came out in a 25ml bottle, it was tiny! So after 3 sips I was out and ordered a sprite. It came out as soda water and when I told our waiter he said.. Waiter: "yes this is soda" Me: "Yea, but I ordered a Sprite" Waiter: "yes, I put soda water and added lemon" Me: "Okay.... do you have any regular soda that aren't just soda water?" Waiter: "No we don't have any sodas" *I was skeptical to believe that a restaurant with a bar wouldn't have any other sodas to mix drinks with, then I looked down at the coke at the table he was cleaning* Me: "Do you have anything else at all? Like coke?" Waiter: "Yes I'll see if we have any other soda like coke" Our food ended up being so unsatisfying that we walked down the street and went to McDonalds.... something I hardly ever eat at! Oh and on our bill the drink came out as lemonade.... since when is soda water and a lemon, lemonade? And I didn't even order a lemonade! -The internet is a pain, you can do something like pay 10 euro through Orange to get wireless though it's probably only for one computer, or you can get their tv/internet package for 10 pounds but you have to hook your computer up to their ethernet cord which is annoying if you're trying to surf in bed. My boyfriend and I both wanted to use the internet so we ended up connecting his laptop to the cord and we made a network for me to leach wifi off his computer. It worked but he still had to sit at the desk by the window and not in bed. -The shower had a shampoo dispenser that looked like a soap dispenser you'd find in a public bathroom. Quite last minute, I had to spend the night in London due to a booking error by my travel agency. I was recommended this hotel by a lady working at the Air Canada desk. If you are going to this hotel from the Heathrow Airport, ask someone which local busses go to Bath Road. It's free if you tell the bus driver that's where you're going. Note: there is no exact "Bath Road" bus stop. Get off the fourth stop (believe it's New Road?) and Ibis is in walking distance. A hotel room for the night cost me 75 pound. There was only a double available so I took it. Pros: free wi-fi in room, full bathroom, hair dryer, TV. Cons: no universal adapters to borrow (except for from the vending machine, but was told it wouldn't work for macbook charger), no clock, no mini fridge. I ordered the chickpea, sweet potato and spinach curry from the bar (which is 24/7) but was pretty disappointed. I ended up walking to Starbucks at the nearby Marriott for a snack and a drink instead. Take a local bus back to the airport for free. The shuttle provided by the hotel costs money. This hotel is okay for a one night stay, but I wouldn't recommend it for extended stays. There is not much within walking distance except for other hotels and McDonalds. read more

I imagine that a decent number of people ending up here are doing so due to airline delays, cancelations, and getting bumped (in my case). I won't hold that against the hotel, as they are clearly just doing their thing, which is modest and deliberately uninteresting. They're aiming for a C+, and getting a fair C from me. Nothing around this hotel to do, nothing much inside to do except for a pool table with busted pool cues which I think is always a sign of disinterested management. Breakfast was plentiful and full of choices, well done guys. Lunch and Dinner menus were very boing. I'm very happy that british airways paid for mine. One thing that did rather annoy me was that whilst the entire hotel including the rooms were plastered with power sockets, you had to pay a rediculous 3-4 pounds an hour to get access to a USB charger for cell phones etc!! This is clearly a rip off taking advantage of people who are travelling light. Not cool. Not a good experience at all. Let's start with when I asked the receptionist about how to get to London's center from the hotel... She told me I had to go back to the airport and my only options were a 10pound taxi ride or a 4pound/person (so, 8pound) Hotel Hoppa shuttle. I had seen a couple of things on their website and throughout the hotel stating that there was FREE public transportation and when I asked she seemed reluctant to tell me the secret. That night, we came in and there was a huge line at reception for check in. Me and my boyfriend went up to our room and wanted to have some tea. They provide it with the room and so, since we had already had the tea that was in the room, I called reception to see if we could get more. The receptionist said if I came downstairs he would give me some more. I did, and when I got there he wasn't there an there were only some overworked receptionistas. One was attending to a new check in so I waited patiently. When she looked like she wasn't TOO busy I said "excuse me, I have a quick question" to which she responded "I'm sorry miss but I'm busy with these people who were ahead of you in line". So once she was finished with them, despite her "chipperness" I decided to try to explain to her that I didn't need to check in, that I wanted just a couple bags of tea. She responded that she was too busy to help me (in not the nicest way) to which I asked why I was not as important as the people in line just because I had already checked in? I had been told to come to reception and I was being treated poorly even though I was just as much of a paying customer (not to mention that it would have taken her two seconds to pass me some tea bags..). She told me that if I needed something to wait for someone else to help me because she was too busy and something else that I did not hear as by that point I was already headed back to my room. Then, once in the room, I noticed that there was no heating. It was FREEZING! So I called reception again to ask how to work the thermostat. No answer. 10 minutes later I called AGAIN because our shower had a HUGE leak. No answer. An hour later I figured they wouldn't be as busy and called AGAIN. No answer. The next morning, the man checking us out could not have cared less about our gripes and we had a decent brunch in the restaurant. However, there they were over staffed as well as the hostess was also the busser and so it was hard to find anyone to help you even though the coffee machine was broken. A few people walked in without paying or telling her their room number because the poor overworked woman could not be taking people's plates and seating them at the same time. I filled out a survey the hotel sent me and told them exactly how I felt about my experience, to which they replied that they were sorry about my experience and hoped that I would have a better experience the next time I stay in their hotels... I will not be staying in their hotels again. read more

The beds were great, the bar was fantastic...but there was a short supply of towels, any soap containers provided were empty, there was a massive stain on the carpet that you just couldn't miss, and best of all, the power went out for the hotel in the middle of the night. Thankfully, we didn't have an early flight or we could have missed it. There was a complimentary breakfast, but it did not happen because of the power outage. There was no water- cold or hot coming from the sink or shower, and the toilets wouldn't work at all. This hotel was recommended by a Delta airline booking employee. We thought we had a great deal, but we wish we can turn back the hand of time. We would've chosen a better hotel near Central London. When I'm asked to describe Ibis hotel, I would say, a decent affordable hotel. For less than 80 pound/night is cheap compare to other hotels. But then for that price, you get a small room with double size bed. If you are staying at this hotel, Please buy your mineral water (for drinking, brushing your teeth) at the nearby mini-mart because the hotel water has some foul odor (at least at our room). Pros: affordable rooms and they have maid service everyday. a restaurant is in the building where you can get food when you are starving or you can walk for ten minutes and get mcdonald's. The only good food is their bacon and a variety of cereals are available. there is a free public transportation across the street to go to Heathrow airport and back to the hotel. a small television is in each room, but has only few channels. Cons: I found their front desk employees rude and they definitely lack on customer service. I had an encounter with one particular personnel due to a simple matter. I have asked the employee whether the adaptor for sale is a universal adaptor since I had electronics from the US and he said, yes it is. So I bought it. But when I returned to our hotel room, I wasn't able to fit the plug because of the surrounding wall of their adapter. I went back down to the lobby and asked, " are you sure you sold me a universal adaptor" and he replied, "yet it is". So then I said, If it is, how come it doesn't work with US plug then... At that time, I asked for a refund and guess what he said... "I can't give you a refund since that was your mistake"... then I said, " my mistake? excuse me... when I asked you if it would work with the US plug and you said, yes it will because it is universal, but obviously, you don't know what universal adaptor is". By this point, I was already mad because he obviously said, it was my fault for buying their product. I have asked to talk to the manager, but he made me wait for a while and the manager wasn't around. I asked him to fix the problem because I wasn't leaving until he fixed it and so he said, I can't help you with that. Finally I said, "why don't you get a sharp and cut off the surrounding wall of the adaptor and it might work" and so he did. It work with US plug. I wish it wasn't that much of a hassle. The water seemed unsanitary. We had to buy gallons of water from the near by minni-mart during our stay. We didn't even used their water for coffee. The buffet breakfast is a bit pricey for the type of food they serve. Taste wise, I am not too happy with it, but we didn't really get a choice. everything was far, but a mcdonalds. anyway, their scramble egg was like sitting on a water tub, their sausage was just plain aweful in my opinion because it has an after taste that you can't get rid off that easy. All in all... i would choose McDonald's next time I'm around the area. The snack bar sandwiches are pricey and not that good. I ordered tuna and ham sandwiches and they were both awefully pricey. How so? the tuna was too dry, it seemed like it had been made a day before and had sat in room temperature with a dash of mayonaise. the ham wasn't worth it.... you know what it reminds me of? 50 cent packaged of ham at the grocery stores. whoever made it, placed two thin hams in a ciabata bread and spread some weird tasting spread on it. Why have a tv if there is only a few available channels. For a better tv shows, Ibis hotel charges 10 pounds per night. That is such a rip off! Why bother placing a telephone in each room, when your guests cannot even use the phone to call locally without being charged. A little too far from Central London. A way to get out of the area is to take the tube from the airport and that cost plenty each day. On the way back, you can take the bus 90 or 285 from hatton cross and that cost 2 pound 20 pents. If we were in London just to relax and not see a lot of places, this hotel wouldn't be too bad if they would have better ammenities. Personally, I applaud their maids. They did such a great job with our room during our stay. read more

Food at the lobby restaurant is mediocre ; wouldn't recommend trying .... Quite a ripped off . Upon check in , the concierge asked what time we would check out and when we said around noon time , she informed us that there will be construction work starting at 9 and there will be noises as well. We were not provided alternative or any upgrade or any compensation, rather just being " informed " , and the kind of " deal with it , we are sorry but really not sorry" . Room is relatively small and ... Just has the moldy kind of feel. Paying 50 pounds a night ... Hmmm I would say Airbnb is better . Sorry . Not a fan . read more

A not very nice hotel. The rooms are fairly clean but that's about all that's positive about the experience of staying here. Horrible dinner restaurant that turns out a barely passable breakfast in the morning. Would not recommend staying here. read more

A last minute decision to stay in London at the airport turned out to be a good one. Heathrow is such a sprawling complex, and I had a relatively early flight back to the US, which would have meant a very, very early departure from Reading. The hotel has been recently updated, and looks very clean and trendy. The staff at reception was very polite and helpful. The room was by far the largest I'd stayed in during my European adventure, clean and tidy, nice bathroom. There was a nice desk, TV, and open shelving and hanger space. Again, very trendy sort of layout. I got a good night's sleep. There are 3 London bus routes that run from the Heathrow Central Bus station to stops near the hotel (an easy 4 or 5 minute walk) that are free. There is a paid "Hoppa" bus service also. The London buses run very regularly, about every 5 to 10 minutes (I don't think I waited more than 5). There was breakfast available in the lobby, I confess I wasn't sure if it was included, but looked reasonable expansive. Overall, a reasonable room at a reasonable rate, super convenient to Heathrow. read more

I just had to sleep here for a few hours while waiting overnight for a flight and it met all my specifications for a cheap airport hotel. There was food served late, although I'm fairly sure it was a boxed frozen pizza they gave me in the bar, but that was okay I guess. The bed was pretty comfortable, the room was clean, and the staff was friendly enough. The place seemed pretty big and wasn't fancy by any means, but that's not what you're looking for in an airport hotel. A-OK place to stay. read more
