Oh my god where do I begin?
My boyfriend and I just spent 3 amazing weeks traveling through Europe and had to stay in Madrid for 1 night before returning to Los Angeles. As a surprise to my boyfriend, I decided to book us a big suite at a 4 star Hotel for a nice last night in Europe. I read the description of this Hotel on their website and based on the description and the prize, I booked it.
When we got to the Hotel we walked into the lobby and were not impressed, it did not look like a 4 star Hotel, the couches were OLD and faded and dirty. The receptionist was quick and gave us the key to our "suite" very quickly.
When we walked into the room, I wanted to scream. When I ask for a suite, specially in a 4 or 5 star Hotel I'm expecting luxury, not 2 rooms separated by a door that was falling apart. That is NOT a suite, that is a double room. The couches in the room were stained, the chairs were old and about to break. The bed (excuse me, beds), was 2 twin beds put together with their own separate sheets and on wheels (omg how romantic!!) the bathrooms (we had 2 since we had 2 rooms) had a blow drier hanging from the wall, that may be older than me (I'm 27). It took about 30 minutes before I started crying in disappointment for ruining our last night in Europe (which was supposed to be fancy and romantic and fun).
The only thing I give this Hotel props for, is the free wifi. We were able to find another Hotel through that wifi and get out of there FAST.
We walked downstairs with our suitcases, I gave the receptionists my key and told them we were not staying there. I told them their website is misleading and that place is not 4 star material. They asked us if we would like to see another room since they couldn't give us a refund, I told them to keep the money and walked out.
We went to the Eurostars Hotel which is near by. Brand new 5 star Hotel, with all the luxury and amenities and nice Hotel should have. Oh and a night at Eurostars was only 7 euros more expensive than Chamartin. read more
