Our stay at this hotel was great, it is close to the train terminal (train, bus, metro) so it was very convenient (10 minute walk). 2 metro stops from the collosseum.
The rooms are very simple and not modern by any means, but if you're on a tight budget its just fine.
It's in a little neighborhood where there's plenty of restaurants and shops nearby so it's great if you don't want to go all they way to the main part of rome.
No where to change money in this neighborhood, closest place is near the terminal off of Via Marsala almost directly across the entrance for the terminal. Don't change money at the terminal, at the airport, or in the city. They will rip you off. Make sure the kiosk says no commission and ask how much euros you will get for what you want to change before you hand over the money.
Back to the hotel, one of the staff Marco was very nice and accommodating with us, gave us so much helpful information. They also sell public transportation tickets at the hotel.
I was told by a friend that in this neighborhood there are gypsies who are vigilant of tourists in town so just keep an eye out and be careful. And on the metro... someone will stand in front of you, another one will come and push them and start fighting to create a diversion all while pushing against you and will pickpocket you while you're distracted. Always grab purses close. read more
