Wonderful location close to Metro & several bus lines. An easy 20 minute walk to the Seine. I felt safe coming home at night. Nice shops & restaurants close by.
The bed was very comfortable & the sheets & towels were of good quality. The pullout bed for our daughter was also comfortable in in a separate room. Housekeeping was good. Rain Shower, water pressure and towel warmer were nice touches. Air Conditioning quite & adequate.
No street noise. However the occupants of the room above had nasty loud children who were allowed to run amuck for three days while we tried to overcome jet-lag. I asked nicely if the front desk staff might gently suggest to my upstairs neighbours that they quite down. They did nothing. A sound proof room is falsely advertised.
A 4 star hotel this is just NOT. We were not offered assistance with our luggage, even as we arrived during normal hours. The elevator did not reach the dungeon floor that we were given. Our room was in a low basement.
We arrived early & they stored our luggage as promised. When we came back at 1:30 for the 2:00 check in time we were made to wait for over 90 minutes. If they had offered me a glass of water, a cup of tea or coffee or even perhaps a glads of wine, the wait may have seemed shorter. Others were waiting and the lobby is so small not everyone had a seat.
No apology offered. No explanation.
We believe that we were given a crappy room & treated badly because we booked online.
The ceiling in our room was only 7 feet high! My husband could touch it.
It had two windows overlooking a service courtyard where the staff smoked. People smoked in the guest courtyard. A non-smoking property it is not, although advertised as such.
The furnishings in the guest courtyard were covered with green slime. Not an inviting place to sit.
There were bars on the windows which gave one only one escape route in a fire. It was a very long way to the exit.
The room was very dark & claustrophobic with the low ceiling although it was technically large for a Paris room.
It was, I must admit stylish & had two flat screen tvs & a Nespresso machine. Although there were three of us, they only gave us two pods per night. read more
