When we first walked into room, I'm not even joking, it smelled like a smokers butthole. The cigarette stench was taking up the entire room, as well as all of the rooms of the people in our group. Our room wasn't as bad as others, but it was definitely bad. The only accommodations the hotel offered was spraying febreeze into the room, which also just made it hard to breath again. We were able to get rid of the smell with about half a bottle of after-poop-spray, no thanks to the hotel. Madrid is also known for being a literal oven, and the hotel reflected that, which was very nice of them. We set the AC to be 10 degree C and turned it up to its highest setting, but it legit did nothing and upon inspecting the vent, no air was coming out. So after 3 people showering, it was so hot and humid in our room it could have been a rainforest. Other people in our group also spotted a stain on their couch, which we were all too scared to think about what it could be. I would say the only good thing about this hotel was the breakfast. Side note: if this is the regular Ibis hotel and there's a budget Ibis hotel, I'm terrified to know how bad the budget one could be

We were here in a large American student tour group. A group leader's purse containing credit…read morecards, passport and cash was stolen off of her stool right in front of the reception desk while she was sitting and visiting in a group. When she noticed and reported it, this hotel offered no assistance. We were treated as though these things just happen and are tough luck for tourists. Although the whole event was captured on video, we were not allowed to view it. Although we were leaving Madrid the next day, we were told by the policia that a specialist would be there to view the tapes in 2 days! BEWARE OF THIS HOTEL AS SECURITY IS A MAJOR ISSUE!!!!

Cheap and great service. Low key, nothing fancy, the people at the front desk were superb! They…read morewere so nice to us. I loved them. The only bad thing is it is not in Madrid. Leganes is about 20 miles or so away from the city and a virtual ghost town at night. ( think Queens to NYC commute) You have to take the train into Madrid.The train station is not super close to the hotel but not a bad walk. That is totally okay and there is nothing wrong with this. ( traveler tip-The train stations can be confusing even with Spanish knowledge so this might be hard for those who are not pretty fluent in the language.) The weather was wonderful and I enjoyed the walk. I felt like a commuting New Yorker again. lol We saved a ton of money even with train fare staying here. I just think next time I would rather stay in Madrid. Staying in Leganes took some planning and altered our early morning and nighttime events. Eating can be a challenge in Spain if you have never been here before and are not willing to overcome American beliefs associated with dining. This is good to know before getting here and staying far from the city. We could never find a place open early morning on our walk to the train station, they do not believe in to go food, ( except for Chocolate Churros food truck at train station-lol) coffee in Styrofoam, and we never ate dinner nor show a Flamenco show the entire time we were there. Tradition in Spain is very late dinner, no early morning, and sit down and relax you crazy Americans, please. I also never got the ordering in a restaurant thing exactly right either. By the time we would be done eating dinner the connecting trains would be over to where we needed to go. So for dinner we ate Tapas the entire time we were there, at American dinner time, and called it a wash. This might challenge a non pork or fish lover like myself. (dinnertime starts at 11pmish in Spain and Tapas are made with the restaurant's leftovers which are usually fish and pork related) I really wanted to check out the oldest restaurant in the world and see a Flamenco show so I left a little bit disappointed. Not enough though to ruin a fantastic trip! The money we saved probably added up to tons more tours for us to enjoy so life was good! We finally did find the American Restaurants in Madrid and the Leganes grocery store which funny enough, was right down the street from the hotel. We asked for gifts to bring home, like wine, and were directed across the street. We laughed when we saw all the fresh produce we could have horded and carried in our purses. Wahhhh! By then it was our last day in Spain- lol! Of course now we know for next time but I just think I am too lazy to go to all that trouble again. However, the hotels in Madrid cost a small fortune so I will have to shop around to find something that was as cheap and nice as this place.

The hotel is in a shopping plaza so plenty of shopping and a Super Carrefour is two stops away on the Metro. Dedicated parking is great if you have a rental car. I was there for 3 weeks doing a seminar and Javier and all the staff from desk to chamber staff to Restraunt were very accommodating. I would stay here again. Rates were in line for the place. We even had a sleeper sofa which accommodated three adults.

After 2 days of aunts (next day all over my luggage and clothes) I had to switch rooms in the middle of the night. Despite the trouble, the hotel said it would not allow a discount, nor any other gesture to make up for the inconvenience. They have a "policy" against "refunds." Apparently a policy against customer service as well. Awful place. Additional. Says it has WiFi but it is always broken. I heard "my partner will fix tomorrow" 4 days in a row. Property in a bad neighborhood (graffiti and bars on windows on all buildings nearby). In the middle of nowhere. Even at the cheap price, better off staying somewhere else.
