Not much I could say in a negative way about Hotel Colombina. Located on one of the main canals for gondola rides, this is the epitome of a Venice hotel that you see in the movies! They have their own private dock that not only allows for direct transfers to the hotel from the airport, but serves as a nightly "people watching" spot while you sip a glass of Aperol Spritz! The building itself is in really good shape, it's so beautiful inside, rooms are very well refurbished, and the staff is beyond friendly! The guest rooms are very large by European standards, and the beds were very comfortable! With easy walking access to St Mark's Square, and many restaurants as well, this is a perfect choice for a reasonable hotel stay in Venice!

First, know that Yelp's map for the hotel is wayyyyy off. This place is close to St. Mark's Square. My girlfriend and I arrived here late at night after taking the water bus. Thankfully, I had some offline maps to guide me here. It's not the easiest place to find. Our room was incredibly small and stuffy. It didn't have air conditioning, and opening the windows only welcomed in a swarm of mosquitoes. (If you're not going to have AC, shouldn't you at least have a screen on your window?) Also, our window opened to a view of nothing. It was just the top of an awning over an alley or something. No canal view. No view of the street. The bed was so hard, I feel like Fred Flintstone had a better sleeping situation. I wouldn't return.

We came across this hotel due to a special room rate and wow I am so glad this happened. Perfect location, very charming, and very comfortable. Staff were super friendly and helpful, especially in booking out airport transfers for us and getting us checked in a bit early. The approach to the hotel's private dock stunning and the lobby is quaint and grand at the same time. The bar is a jewel box of character and we enjoyed chatting with the bartender over a nightcap. Our room was beautiful - truly one of the most fanciful European rooms I've been in, especially for the price. The softest bed and largest bathroom I've ever had in Europe as well. The chandelier, oil painting, and antique furniture lended a special charm to our visit to Venice.

Wow, it's a beautiful hotel with a cute location just around the corner from Saint Marks Square.. which was a sight to behold being that we stayed at the same replicated place in Vegas called the Venetian, It's a dream come true and plan to make many more visits. Take time to read study up on the directions here as the website maybe a bit off but well worth the 5 minute walk from the Water Bus, which is much cheaper to take at 14 Euros ($20-23), opposed to the private water taxi which is 60-80 ($100-120) Euros.

We took a private water taxi from the train station which we paid out of pocket but was worth it vs walking from the train station to the pick up area at St Mark's Square. We had free breakfast buffet each morning and and there were so many choices, both hot and cold. They even had an omelette station. Everyone was very friendly and the restaurant was beautiful. Our check-in process was smooth and easy. Stefano was great. The room was super spacious with a huge closet, huge bathroom and a great view. I first found out about this place when I was asking for recommendations of where to stay in Venice on FB as everything seemed overpriced. This hotel came as a recommendation for a travel agent friend and it was the best hotel I stayed at while in Italy. The front desks employees (shout out to John Luca) are so helpful in assisting you on where to eat and how to get to certain places. Upon my return visit they gave me the same room that I had on my previous visit which was a thrill as I could see St Mark's square from my window. The rooms are clean and typically size for Europe. The breakfast they serve is fabulous!! And the location truly cannot be beat. Not only is Lido a fabulous alternative to Venice but Hotel Panorama is directly across from the water bus station making getting around a breeze. There is a lovely little roof garden here which overlooks the lagoon and St Marks square. Its amazing to sit and watch the world go by from here. I would thoroughly recommend the Hotel Panorama. However, it was relatively easy once you get it! Upon arrival, we were greeted with a warm smile but the room was not ready yet. However, given my Platinum Elite status, they said they will prioritize us first. The girl was very helpful by giving us a map and providing time estimates and where we could go while waiting. The room was alright. I found out that the AC is turned off in November but we went there end of October. The best they could do is unlock the windows for us to open it partially. Kind of surprised that HVAC systems were not readily available. I must be a spoiled American. There are water and fruits at the lobby 24/7 so that was nice. 1 star taken off for turning off the AC services earlier than planned, but most importantly for not encompassing of customer needs for a HVAC system that offers both year round!
