The restaurant here, Antinoos Lounge, is fantastic. Great food and pairings, with the wait staff attentive and impeccable. I'd come back again without question. The sunset view is just amazing as well!!

Beautiful, beautiful hotel. Hotel star ratings in Venice are supposedly iffy. This place claims to be 5, and it makes a good case. Did I mention the beauty? The rooms are nice, large, modern, and luxurious. Soaking tub, walk in rainfall shower, and a tiny balcony looking over the inner courtyard awaited us. Very convenient location to the vaporetto. If you are a walker, it is a bit of a hike to St. Mark's because you have to backtrack a ways to get to the nearest bridge over the Grand Canal. You can also purchase direct private transportation to / from the airport through them. The breakfast buffet is quite good, and the dining area affords you great views of the Grand Canal. If you sit in the outdoor area mind your lox, or you will have a split second chance to pet a seagull (I was unsuccessful, and made fishless). A couple small downers. We had arrived via overnight train from Rome at 5:30 am, so needless to say we were up for a nap later. By the way, walking across Venice at dawn is one of the best decisions you can make. It is beautifully desolate, a polar opposite of the Disneyland it becomes a few hours later. Anyway, they could not check us in early, and actually ended up being 15 minutes late. It was extremely irritating in the moment. The hour or so we spent waiting exposed us to their awful lounge menu. It was terrible even though I was ridiculously hungry. You also get to pay a lot for it. Wifi is also not free. Seriously? Don't get me wrong though, I'd stay here again in a heartbeat. The rooms, building, and buffet are worth it.

A lovely place to relax and enjoy a beer with a view!

This is a nice hotel with a fabulous location. It is away from the crowds. It is close to the sites. It is right up the path from the Guggenheim museum. There are a lot of unique shops in the neighborhood. I like the shop with the locally made silk lamps and silk scarves. It is worth a visit to sit and have a cocktail with a view. The hotel is sweet to stay in too. It would be a 5-star spot but they make it difficult and expensive to sign on the wifi.

First, the staff is excellent and bend over backwards to help and provide what ever you need. I arrived via train after dark and the hotel helped get a water taxi to help pick me up at the train station. I stained a jacket somehow and the staff bent over backwards to try to remove it. They did a great job. The restaurant and the 2 bars are superb. Go to the bar that is not next to restaurant and get a specialty drink. When we were there they were offering Negronis with calvados to reflect a Salvador Dali painting that is in the Guggenheim. I want to give a shout out to Alberto at the Concierge desk who helped me numerous times, including with my stained jacket. A top notch experience.

Walking distance from everything you want in Venice. They gave us a free bottle of Bellini when we checked in. Great breakfast buffet right on the water, that was included with our room for being Marriott elite members. This has to be one of the nicest best hotels in Venice. The only somewhat downside is that because this is such a nice hotel, room service and the food options at the hotel are completely overpriced. But that's the case almost everything in Venice from what we saw. If there was some more reasonable food and beverage options at this hotel i would have given it 5 stars

Coffee and a welcome bottle of Prosecco were also waiting for us. The view is really, truly right on the canal. It's fantastic but surprisingly quiet at night, likely due to the excellent windows We took the water taxi to the San Marco Square then walked back and it was about a 30 minute walk with beautiful shops and restaurants almost the entire way. The view is beautiful, and the terrace offers the perfect, outdoor, upscale, Venetian ambiance. We started with the garden tomato salad, which was good. The pasta with lobster was very fresh, delicious, perfectly cooked and seasoned. The sea bass was also very fresh, and gently seasoned to accentuate the freshness of the fish. It was delectable. The veal Milanese was good. The server's recommendation of wine was "spot on" and beautifully suited for our meal. Dining at the Gritti Palace Terrace is A MUST when you are in Venice. At the time I was Starwood Platinum, and I booked a King room with a view of the canal. As we checked in - after the train ride from Milan, the long water Vaporetto ride, and the cold walk from the square - the staff was quite friendly as they informed us ... I had been upgraded to a suite with a terrace on the top floor! Right across the canal from the room was the Basilica, with the Lagoon behind it and Lido off in the distance. The furnature was pure classical period style and the terrace was larger than my next room in Munich. Unfortunately it was February so the Terrace was of little use and some of the hotel facilities were not open. But it was fabulous anyway. Now, my stay may not be typical, not everyone gets upgraded to a $2,500/night hotel room. The location is great - easy walking to just about any part of Venezia. The staff was friendly and helpful. Not sure about wifi and connectivity - when we were in the room we weren't surfing the internet.
