The setting is a mismatch of industrial and retro with a hint of old world. The staff were all lovely and friendly, and very accommodating to the abundance of laptops. I decided to call the boyfriend and have him pop in to save me cooking a late dinner (and the food looked amazing!) I had the burger, best in the town apparently, with cheese and bacon. It was pretty awesome actually. I usually struggle with burgers but this was just right, and the fries were perfect too! His mixed grill however, left a lot to be desired. The waitress was very apologetic however for the tough meat, and gave him a reduction on the price. She insisted it's usually better, and it must be the 'end of the day' meat, since we just caught last orders. It was a little pricey for my taste, considering what it is, but I would be tempted to try some of their other dishes. Overall, a pretty good place for a drink and a bite to eat, with a great ambiance suitable for dates, friends and writing groups :) The side streets behind it are great for parking on an evening, but there is no direct parking and you'd struggle throughout the day.

Clean Modern Travelodge with good parking and good access to M9 and Falkirk but that's where the…read morebig negative comes in because the rear of the hotel actually overlooks the M9 and the noise is quite considerable if you occupy a room on this side the front is quieter but still noticeable at peak times, baffles me why the built the hotel so close to the M9 when the overall site is so big. Paid £44 on same day booking which is quite cheap for a Travelodge but guess price reflects the location.

cheap and chearful springs to mind. you get what you pay for. the rooms are very basic. luckily…read morethere is a restaurant right next to it, so you can go here for a nice meal and a drink. this kind of place is ideal, if you are just looking for somewhere to sleep. for example, i had family coming from london for a family wedding, but there just was not enough beds, so this place was ideal for the purpose. the rooms are cheap. it was clean and tidy, but they didn't like the shared bathroom situation.

At check in a large group arrived at the same time so there was about a 15 minute delay but the check in staff were very appologetic. The rooms were really big and nicely decorated. The beds and pillows were comfy and there was a big tv. The only downside was the room was really warm and the windows only opened a small amount. The food provided by the hotel for the wedding was delicious and the bar staff were very attentive.

I was dubious of the quality given the 2 courses for £7 or three for £10, but throwing caution to the wind ordered garlic breaded mushrooms to start and Cajun chicken and chips for main. The mushrooms were good, served with a little salad and Mayo, the main was tasty, well cooked and plenty on the plate, then the desert of sticky toffee pudding, served with ice cream, slipped down a treat. Can't fault it for the cash, bit noisy in the pub and avoid sitting next to the doors at the back as the smokers throw them open and wander out into the cold, graciously allowing you to freeze as well as partake of their second hand smoke!
