The Bothwell Hotel is next door to a convent and across the road from The Priory. That alone should be enough to want to go.
I have never stayed here so wouldn't dare comment on the rooms or the service and so this review is off the bar alone, which itself is pretty good - small quiet and cosy, with an excellent beer garden.
The Bothwell Hotel is a real homing point come a sunny day. Literally everyone ends up here, drinking cider on the grass, swatting away the bees and wondering how on earth we can be bothered with the wind and the rain we are normally lumbered with here in Glasgow.
It's been here for years too which gives it a real sense of itself. It was formally known as the Country Club - most people, including myself, still call it this. read more
