In the USA this experience would be very expensive but in France it is such a treat to enjoy a restaurant like this. Right on the Boulevard Poissonnière, just a 30-second walk from the Grands Boulevards metro station, sits this quaint, unassuming hotel. Nestled between pubs and retail shops, the Hotel des Grands Boulevards is easy to miss if you aren't keeping an eye out! The lobby is small and to-the-point. A narrow counter, two employees, and a wall of old-fashioned tasseled hotel keys waiting to be used. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. We were greeted by warm smiles and a "bonjour" every time we walked by. The room itself was beautiful. The hotel takes its design inspiration from the French Revolution and provincial life. Walls painted in deep, dramatic greens, a bed with a soft canopy, and accent furniture in rustic golds. All of it was rounded out with light modern touches. We couldn't have asked for a better place to spend our honeymoon in Paris!

Everyone working is very hospitable. The location can't be beat, making this a good hotel to start your trip. The rooms are spotless. I stayed in a small single room and it was perfect. The breakfast spread was also impressive, with plenty of options to kickstart my busy day. Unfortunately, I am taking a star off my review because I called twice confirming that I could have a fridge in my room. The hotel explained that they could place one in the room. When I got to my room, they said they do not put fridges in the room. I had to use their own fridge for my medication. I am also taking another star off because I emailed the hotel to confirm this and they never responded. I have never heard of a hotel just not responding to a guest. For these two reasons, I am giving the hotel three stars. Now, the hotel itself is great. The rooms are perfect. Most of all, the AC (air-conditioning) is cold and made my trip perfect. I just wish they would honor having fridges placed in the room and answer customer emails rather than ghosting me. I would stay here again though because the location and staff are very inviting.

The room upstairs was a bit smaller than expected, which did dampen things at first. However the clean sheets, complimentary coffee and tea, strong water pressure, and the uber amazing heated towel rack really turned things around. The hotel even gave us a complimentary bottle of champagne and a WiFi hotspot to travel Paris with (since we stayed for a week). Location is off the Main Street, but still very close to the busy areas and near subway stops. If you don't speak French, the concierge can help you make reservations for restaurants or museums or other activities. Checkout was easy, and calling a cab via the concierge was a piece of cake. Overall, a lovely experience that I would highly recommend anyone else to try. I know I'll be coming back to this hotel soon.

For a Parisian room, this was quite large. The room was also quiet, which I appreciated being that it was a fairly busy hotel. The staff was super attentive and anything we called down for was brought up within minutes. Turndown at night was always welcomed and it was nice to come back from dinner to a refreshed room. Only downside is Rue de Rene Boulanger is a tiny street and most Ubers will pick you up on the main road (Rue de St Martin). The hotel itself is beautiful with a French film theme. We stayed in room 512 and loved it. It had a lovely balcony with an enjoyable street view and the room decor was charming. The size of our room was roomy enough to suite our needs while in Paris. The bathroom had good lighting and the pocket door was a solid door which I appreciate for a change after staying in 6 hotels in 1 month and 4 out 6 had frosted glass bathroom doors. Personally, I think glass doors look pretty cool but not very practical for bathroom privacy. This hotel offers free soft drinks and bottled water replenished daily in your room's mini fridge. All the staff were extremely accommodating and friendly. I don't speak French except for a few phases and the staff made me feel at ease and comfortable with speaking to me in English. The hotel offers breakfast for a fee. I included it in our room reservation and I believe it was worth it. They have a nice variety of breakfast options to satisfy including croissants, pastries, bread, eggs, veggies, waffles, pancakes, cheeses, fruits, meats (extra kiddos for having poultry sausages aside from bacon for guest who don't eat pork). Breakfast is served Monday through Friday from 7am to 10:30am and until 11am on Saturday and Sunday. Another great thing about this hotel is that it offers complimentary snacks in the lounge from 2pm to 2am. Mostly cakes, cookies, juices, tea, and coffee. Also, this hotel chain provides customers with a network around Paris where you can stop into any of their hotels for snacks and to use the restroom whenever you want.

Bathroom was immaculate with a nice shower. Front desk staff were uniformly friendly and helpful. Hard to beat the location, in the heart of Montmartre. Tons of great little cafes and pastry shops (but the restaurants and bars open late into the night, so be aware that you might hear a lot of happy people when you're getting ready for bed). 10 minute walk to Sacre-Coeur (and the walk itself is really scenic and pleasant), 5-6 minute walk to nearby Metro stops like Blanche and Abbesses. Be aware that the walk from Blanche is a little uphill, and the Abbesses station has a seemingly endless staircase (so use the lift there). The only negative I encountered was that the ground floor (where the front desk and breakfast cafe is) often had a bathroom-y smell. This did not extend to the upper floors where the guest rooms are. The hotel itself is small, but totally fit our needs. On trip advisor there are lots of complaints about room sizes, but I think we lucked out and had a room on the 6th (top) floor, which had an adorable balcony overlooking the rooftops of Montemarte! Such a dream. Yes, the room was smaller than you are probably used to, with limited storage for clothes, but the bathroom was sized well and the wifi was great.
