The room was spacious and had a small balcony and was VERY quiet. Even though the train tracks pass just outside there really wasn't any noise to disturb sleep. Beds are comfortable and there was fantastic AC (I like it cool at night). While breakfast is included it wasn't anything special and they are overly focused on food waste (I think) as the plated on the buffet have only 4-6 servings of an item so if you arrive at the wrong time, like we did the first morning, there is very little food left. While they do refresh things, the single attendant is also taking orders for coffee as well as checking room numbers. Given that so many people are off early to hike- this system isn't the best. Despite this inconvenience I'd definitely stay here again in a remodeled room. The staff were friendly and super helpful. And HUGE plus is the location, just a 4 min straight shot walk to Interlaken WEST station which connects you in 5 minutes to the transit hub of OST.

The food and drinks were so good that we only wanted to eat our meals at Hotel Eiger. That's super rare for me as I usually like to sample different restaurants. But the meals were just so good that I couldn't imagine getting a better meal elsewhere. The beef entrecôte with béarnaise sauce was my favorite meal of our entire Swiss vacation. The Schwarz Mönch beer was available and was as delicious as everyone said it would be. And the fresh orange juice machine was so fun during breakfast and made the best juice.

It was probably delicious as well. I would love to come back and check this out during the winter time. The patio was the best way to finish out our meal. See photos for some of what we ate. :)

The rooms are great - not fancy - but spacious with good sized bathrooms. Breakfast was excellent and very relaxed. There's a very peaceful lounge area if you're into hanging out in the bad weather. And the restaurant, while a little on the hot side, is outstanding. Excellent food, wonderful service. Great hiking opportunities in the area. Don't miss the gondola rides - there are 4 of them. Our favorite was Oeschinensee.

The breakfast buffet was genuinely excellent and was easily the best part of the stay. Unfortunately, that's where the compliments end. The staff were about as warm and comforting as a splinter under a toenail. Every interaction felt like we were inconveniencing them simply by being guests. Hospitality should make you feel welcome; here, it felt like they couldn't wait for us to leave. As for Wengen itself, it's undeniably beautiful. The mountain scenery is spectacular. But beneath the postcard views is an overcrowded, overpriced destination packed with tourists. After experiencing it firsthand, I don't understand the hype. Between the inflated prices and the lackluster service, it's simply not a place I'd spend my money on again. The scenery earns five stars. The overall experience does not. I won't be returning.

There are plenty of shops and restaurants in this area. This hotel has a popular and always crowded burger restaurant - be sure to allow enough time for a long wait or just order to-go. Check-in took about 10-15 minutes as they are very thorough with the information they give you and plus, we had sent our luggage here ahead of time so they had to fetch our luggage from their luggage storage. They also gave us a refreshing welcome drink: cold herbal tea. Think Ricola but in iced tea form. The place has character - you'll see old typewriters as decors, the room keys are heavy and old school . It's also a pet-friendly hotel. There are rules: keep the wooden floors dry, be sure to dry the bathroom floor so it doesn't flood into the wooden floor. We got a room on the top floor with lots of windows. It's super spacious. We enjoyed the cool breeze of natural air by opening the windows. The bathroom has the usual stuff plus a weighing scale so I can see how much weight I gained from eating all the chocolates and cheese everyday, You can leave the heavy room key in the numbered shelf in front of the front desk if you're leaving the hotel to explore.
