Cara is a rockstar! She is able to help everyone from the super fit to me - an uncoordinated non-exerciser. Cara has a gift for teaching her clients how their bodies work and how we can make (small and large) adjustments to our posture and movement to feel SO MUCH better. Cara is also a ray of sunshine. Always fun to talk to and super supportive and encouraging. When she says "you got this," I really feel like I do! read more

I have been working with Cara for over 3 months now and I could not be happier with my experience! I have been having shoulder pain for the past 3 years, the result of working at a desk, over mousing, along with perhaps some old injuries. Over the past 3 years of shoulder pain I have tried physical therapy, acupuncture, and massage. I have been to numerous doctors and health care practitioners. Everyone was focused solely on my shoulder area. I knew that the problem was more systemic than that, but couldn't seem to find anyone who would have that conversation with me. When I started working with Cara she quickly identified that I was in therapeutic mode, vs. strengthening mode, which felt really right! Others had me doing weights which seems only to aggravate the problem. Our work together feels slow and steady, as I build up a gentle strength and awareness about how I am using my body. She immediately agreed with me about the systemic nature of my pain. She could see how tension in different parts of my body was all related, and is exploring that together with me. It became clear to me that I have been over using some muscles, not just my shoulder, but my legs, too! And under-utilizing some of the largest muscles in my body! Cara is super knowledgeable and if an exercise isn't feeling or working right, she quickly has an adjustment or alternative that works better for my body. She is helping me build a mind/muscle connection so I can better control which muscles I use for different activities. Cara is professional, punctual, organized and super fun! I highly recommend her. read more

Cara came to my home in NOPA and did a full assessment for me followed by exercises. I have chronic back pain. She helped me so much with my lower core muscles and taught me how my posture should be. My back pain started to alleviate. I am an equestrian and after having worked with Cara, my riding improved dramatically! My trainer could see the difference. Across the board, I would say all my physical activity is better. Having Cara correct your posture and give you the exercises to maintain it can be life changing. It certainly was for me. She was very professional and kind and has made a significant positive change in my health. I enjoyed her homework and youtube videos that she sent me after our first meeting. I certainly look forward to my sessions with her! read more

Cara is AMAZING! I was hesitant to reach out to a personal training, mostly because I have never done something like this and was feeling pretty shy about it, but my body had been aching for so long due some complications during my pregnancies (last one was 4 years ago!). I had heard of Cara through some connections and was so glad that I finally reached out to her. When she first came to my home, she immediately put me at ease and I felt comfortable with her right away. Over the next several weeks, we expanded on the exercises that we did and she really helped me connect with my body in a way I had never done before. She also gives homework that is manageable and tailors it to your needs. I found 10 minutes a day kept me on track. I highly recommend Cara. She knows her stuff. She's kind, compassionate and clearly loves what she does! read more

Cara is excellent at what she does. At about 4 month after giving birth I was ready to do something about my post natal tummy. Several people recommended her, so I went for it. I am pretty in tune with my body and do a lot of yoga and walking, and she took that awareness of my body that I had and took it to a whole other level. I had no idea I was holding my body in ways that were exacerbating the pains and tension that I had become accustomed to over time. Cara is also very lively, fun, enthusiastic and approving. Even in the places I am challenged body-wise, she was very supportive and I always felt like I was doing a good job and learning a lot. She is also VERY articulate, and can explain in understandable ways what is happening in my body and how to do the different moves. And her training is VERY effective. I have my body back post baby and am stronger and more vital than before. I highly recommend her! read more

Not only is Cara an excellent instructor who truly knows her stuff, she is engaging, fun, and caring! As a yoga instructor, I "thought" I was connected to my core. It turns out there are lots of very subtle things that go on in the core that can great impact your ranges of motion as well as the efficiency of your movements. Despite all the subtleties of the core, Cara cues excellently such that I was able to understand exactly what she wanted me to engage. Just after one session, I feel a lot taller, my hips and lower back are more relaxed while at the same time engaged properly, and definitely more connected with my core center! read more

I've been working with Cara for about 6 months, since my twin girls were 3 months old. She is an amazing pilates instructor. When I started with her I had pretty bad diastasis recti and my obgyn told me I might need surgery to correct it. Since I started working with Cara it has been steadily improving and my stomach looks and feels so much better. Cara makes every lesson challenging but doable, and she's super encouraging. I don't love to exercise, but with Cara the time passes quickly and I feel great afterwards. It's also awesome that she does in home work, because there's no way I'd be able to make it to weekly pilates lessons otherwise. I highly recommend Cara to all postpartum mamas, especially those with twins and/or multiple children! read more

I cannot say enough great things about Cara and Hot Mama Pilates! I had chronic back pain and legs cramps for as long as I remember and everyone recommended Pilates. My brother-in-law recommended Cara so I gave it a shot. The best thing Cara did for me was teach be the basic foundation of Pilates. She literally taught me how to walk, sit, and stand correctly. Even those minor adjustments drastically improved my quality of life. She helped me become more aware of my body and how I move. She was always in tune with my physical and emotional well being and adjusted our classes based on how my body and mind were that day. Cara was so attentive and I felt she genuinely cared about me as a person and my well-being. She always displayed the utmost of professionalism and every class with her was fun! I looked forward to them every week! I haven't experienced any back pain or cramps since I started seeing her. I still use the exercises Cara taught me and I can't thank her enough for improving my quality of life! I would absolutely recommend Hot Mama Pilates to anyone without hesitation. read more

I have worked with Cara for over 5 years. She is not only a wonderful instructor but one of the few people I will gladly meet in the morning before 7 am. Over the years, I have seen myself become stronger and have increased stamina. My posture has also has improved so much! I am in much better shape that I was 5 years ago. People ask me what I do and I have to say that I owe it all to Cara! read more

Cara is amazing! She helped me get my body back post pregnancy and I fell in love with pilates. We did a lot of floor exercises with small movements that somehow still kick your butt! She always brought equipment with her, everything from the mat itself to a ball to bands to weights. I had homework through her app to complete during the week before we saw each other next. The app was easy to use and kept me in check. She was so kind to my dogs and especially to my baby who she would volunteer to hold if she was losing her head during our sessions. Very accommodating with my schedule and understanding of post pardum mom life. I highly highly recommend her! read more

Cara has been a HUGE help healing my diastasis recti and getting back in touch with my body after having a baby. When I started working with her I had over a 4 finger gap in my abs and could barely engage my core at all. After meeting with her 1-2x a week for 6 weeks (and doing my exercise homework), we got it down to a 2 finger gap and I feel so much stronger and encouraged that I'll get my full strength back. I had minimal experience with pilates so everything was new to me but Cara does a great job explaining each exercise and uses touch or verbal cues to help you engage the right muscles. She also helped correct my posture. I was unaware that I flare my ribs out and how that affects the rest of my body (especially my diastasis) but with her help I've improved my posture and I definitely feel the difference. Cara is so attentive and knows what your body needs and how to help it move the right way. She is also a genuine, fun and kind person so I always enjoy the conversation during our sessions. I would highly recommend working with her if you are pregnant/postpartum or if you just want some help getting back in touch with your body. read more

I have been working with Cara for over 2 years and I can't say enough wonderful things about her. She is incredibly knowledgable about body mechanics, muscle stability, and posture. After having two children, Cara taught me how to stand, and taught me how to rebuild the strength in my abs. She also taught me exercised on how to strengthen my back for better posture which was much needed! What I love about Cara is that she is incredibly sweet and kind and is great with people - working with her is a lot of fun. She is always smiling and has a talent of making you feel good even after a hard day. Cara's workouts are tailored to the individual -- some days I had more energy and we did weights, others i was tired and we did stretching. Cara is very understanding and is able to modify the workouts based how I felt that day. She is wonderful! read more

I adore Cara and her work on my body really helped me to mend after my 2nd C-section. She fixed my sore back from pregnancy/delivery/breastfeeding, and got my fitness moving in the right direction. I highly recommend this! read more

Cara is so knowledgeable and friendly!! I really could not have found anyone better to help me start using my body correctly. You heard me right, she helps me use the proper muscle groups to do everyday tasks, which I believe is called functional movement. Yes, she is an amazingly talented Pilates instructor, but she is also a genius regarding all the parts is the body and the correct way they should be used. An example of this is always using just your core (stomach muscles) to sit and stand. Do you sit and stand correctly? I'm going to guess no, which was the case for me, and that led to a sever lower back injury. I was using my lower back to stand up, pick up things, etc. I also have a real old shoulder injury and bone spurs so because of the pain, I compensate by using other muscle groups, which has now led to other long term problems. She is so successful in getting me back on track before I get any older. On your first visit with her, she does a functional assessment to see how you are performing so that she can help you get back on track too. By using basic some Pilates foundational type exercises, your body starts to function swimmingly and it makes you more confident to take a Pilates class or a one-on-one with Cara. I know I am rambling but some times it's hard to explain just how much he is helping me. Thank you Cara! read more

Cara is absolutely amazing, I truly loved working with her. After having two babies in 3 years, my diastasis was pretty bad, especially since I had not corrected it after my first baby. Cara, came right in listened to where I was at with my body and we dove right in. Each session, she would have something in mind but also be willing to pivot to my needs if I had a rough night of sleep nursing baby and was out of alignment etc. I also realized in all my years of working out I never had truly connected to my core, and Cara helped me do that, I would find myself laying on the floor out of breath without having really moved big muscles, it was crazy! After our time together, my diastasis was significantly reduced, I had the stability to get back into regular workouts. I am so grateful for our time together and couldn't recommend Cara enough! Don't hesitate, just work with her, you'll thank yourself. read more

Love! Love! Love Cara! I was referred to Cara by Dr. Allen Harrison, who I am also grateful for. I had been to doctor after doctor trying to figure out why I was having so much pain in my hip after giving birth to my daughter. I saw multiple PTs, Orthopedists, and had two MRIs. No one could figure out what was going on and medication seemed to be the only answer. By the second meeting with Cara, she knew exactly what was wrong and how to fix it! She is incredibly knowledgeable. She will catch you if are off by the slightest. She will tell you exactly how to make the correction so you are doing the exercises properly. This makes a huge difference with what muscles you are working out. I've been seeing her for 9 months and my pain has dramatically decreased. Sitting always aggravates the pain in my hip. In November, I could barely stand sitting for a 5 hour flight. By April, I had no problem sitting for a 14 hour flight! I couldn't have made that trip without Cara's help, knowledge and guidance. Plus, she just an enjoyable person to see once a week! read more
