We had lunch here today. It's fast, tastes great and the price is right!…read more I had the chipotle wedge salad. Lettuce, chicken, bacon, onions and topped with chipotle blue cheese dressing. Oh, yum! My son had the California carnitas plate. One BIG plate of pork, jalapeños onions tomatoes, cucumber, orange slices and avocado. He liked it a lot. Service was lightning fast, we were in and out in 20 minutes. As Arnold said, 'I'll be back!'

They had fresh flowers on each table, which was such a nice touch. As soon as we sat down, we were served crispy pinwheels and hot sauce. The chimichanga was on specials and it was beautifully presented, almost reminding me of a giant dumpling! You can choose from a variety of different options for protein, so I chose steak. It had a creamy sauce surrounding it, and also came with salad and rice. The rice was flavorful and the salad had some guac on it, so it was creamy and good. The Al pastor torta was more like a flat bread/ pita sandwich, and was filled with diced Al pastor, cheese, lettuce, tomato, and avocado. We ordered a side of grilled onions and peppers, which were spicy and went well with the torta. We ordered jalapeños but we were served Serranos, which were even spicier! The server was really welcoming and efficient. You can pay the bill as you walk out, and credit cards incur a fee. Tips are also separate and you can give it directly to the server! They also had some desserts on display but we were too full to indulge this time.

This Chicharrones De Harina (Mexican wheel chips) time Richelle got the quesadillas fritas and I got the pambazo and we ordered the avacado dip appetizer. Instead of tortilla chips they gave us chicharrones de harina (Mexican wheel chips), to try. We have not had chicharrones de harina before but they are a fun change from the stand tortilla chips. Service is always fantastic. The dinner area still throws me because it is more casual American country style verse some Mexican styles.

Found out later she was part owner with her brothers and sisters of the restaurant. As for the food, it was exceptional and very delicious. Also very reasonably priced. Everything was top notch here, down to the cleanliness of the restrooms . I highly recommend!

I finally made the drive to Casa Centro in Springfield and had mixed feelings about a few dishes…read more We sat outside on a beautiful day, which made for a pleasant dining experience. Our server was very nice and personable throughout the meal. He did forget to bring silverware and napkins for the appetizers, so we had to ask for them, but otherwise the service was friendly. We started with the chips, salsa, and queso. The chips were fresh, crisp, and not overly salty. The salsa tasted fresh and homemade, and the queso had a nice kick that kept me coming back for more. I also tried the street corn. Unfortunately, this was my least favorite item. It tasted more like corn that had been poured straight from a can rather than fresh roasted street corn. The birria empanadas were good, with a crispy shell and flavorful filling. The sauce served with them was delicious. My only surprise was that I expected the cheese, onion, and cilantro to be inside the empanadas, but most of those toppings were served on the plate instead. For my entrée, I ordered the bowl with half chicken and half shrimp. The shrimp was the star of the dish. It had a nice crispy coating, was seasoned well, and had great flavor. The chicken was a little under-seasoned in comparison, but the portions were generous and they definitely didn't skimp on the protein. My dining companion ordered the California Burrito. The presentation was impressive, and it was definitely a substantial portion. However, we were surprised to find green beans inside, which wasn't something either of us expected in a California Burrito. Overall, the restaurant was clean, the portions were generous, and there were definitely some highlights. The fresh salsa, queso, shrimp, empanada sauce, and portion sizes stood out the most for me. While a couple of dishes missed the mark for my personal taste, I'd be willing to return and try some of the tacos or other menu items. Rating: 3.5/5

The serving size was generous, the price was reasonable. The happy hour pricing on a large draft beer, also reasonable. There was an average number of guests at restaurant. Waiter seemed.......confused. No drink refills, no chips and salsa refills. Never returned to check if food was ok after he served it. Kitchen was very, very slow in preparing and sending out food. My chimichangas were burned. Granddaughter's chicken nuggets were so hard that she had trouble biting into them. We were celebrating a graduation with a party of 13 (been there plenty of times with a large party with zero problems). As such, I don't think that anyone in our party complained about anything (although keep in mind the waiter did not check back after service to make sure everything was ok) not wanting to dampen the celebration as well as just being ready to get out of there after such a miserable experience. Then we go to pay. A 'new'? very inept male was trying to ring people out. He ended up just kind of wandering away from the register. The foyer was packed. A very long line formed until a manager stepped up and replaced him. Again, we have never had an issue with Los Mariachi's before tonight. It is my daughter-in-law's favorite place. But, if this has been our first visit, we definitely would not return.

Lots of new stuff on the bigger menu, lots of birria choices (quesadillas/tacos, burritos, "pizza" and ramen). I got a new burrito from the new menu, but didn't shoot pictures of the menu itself and forget the name. Of course... But it had chicken, cheese, chorizo, lettuce and rice inside, a steak and a skewer of shrimp ontop, and mothered in cheese and salsa Verde(my fave)... It was ginormous, it was fantastic, and came on a platter the size of a boogie board. I struggled to cut it in half and have half left and a side of rice for tommorrow. Woot. 10/10 I got a tamale too, chicken not pork, the sauce was meh, I prefer a rich mole but the masa flavor and texture were great. 7/10, removed a point for chicken over pork and the sauce, decent but not the best I've had. But would get again! I'm liking the new direction under new owners, I'll be back! (And I'll shoot pics of the new menu!)

To say we were not disappointed is an understatement; we were stunned at how enjoyable the experience was. Everything.. EVERYTHING about this place is wonderful. Service was very attentive, friendly and helpful (and our waitress had only been working there 1 month.) The overall ambiance was stimulating and captivating. Stimulating because the music Powerhouse 60s hits from Ray Charles, Tom Jones, the Beatles and more was a *perfect* choice to enjoy yet not disrupt quiet conversation. Stimulating because the decor was so unique and interesting. And because just the vibe of everyone in there really enjoying themselves was palpable. What about the food you say? Every ingredient of all 4 different taco choices we made was wonderful; fresh, tasty and well prepared and presented. It's not very close to us but we are already excitedly figuring out when we can get back there - and I'm confident we are going to become regulars. It's a small place so going at peak meal hours might risk waiting. They have about 10 tables as well as another 8 or 10 stools at the bar. We did not drink so cannot review that aspect. We were told the place had come under new management in the last few months. As well as that place seemed to be functioning, we would never have guessed that. PS I didn't know until we ordered that they were giving free tacos to veterans, so that's a really cool mark on their patriotism and sense of community. PS 2 Small warning: The bench seats at the east (entrance) wall cut off circulation in my legs.
