Kind of torn between 3 and 4 stars, but going to sit with 3 on this one. Place is beyond clean! I didn't know what to expect, but it is cleaner than most places out there. I wondered how many seats would be inside after I watched a long line around the building in the drive thru, but there was enough for a decent group of people. Pricing doesn't seem out of control by any means. Four of us at for 40 bucks. Hot dog wise: I was a bit underwhelmed. There were smaller than expected for a hot dog place and while the mac and cheese dog was good, it wasn't anything over the top at all. Now, if you are a fry eater, this is the place to go. I ordered a regular order of hot fries and they filled an entire plate. I was hoping for better flavor since it seemed like a "specialty" of theirs, but honestly it tasted like any normal type table hot sauce. Even so, if you like fries, you will get a lot of them! Great fries! I will start by saying I am not a hot dog eater but since they have reopened I have been wanting to give it a try. They have a menu with a lot of choices other than hot dogs. Chicken, wraps, salad, fish sandwiches, burgers, and lots of ice cream and slushee choices. Prices seem reasonable and food was made quickly. The new restaurant is very clean and had a similar layout to the past restaurant. You order upon entering and then seat yourself. They call your name when the food is ready. I'm really surprised that this place doesn't have better overall reviews. The hotdogs are excellent and they have a lot of different varieties to choose from. They also have family packs that make it easy to order for large groups. Note: the family pack portion of fries is gigantic! There is plenty of seating, it's easy to park, and there is never a very long wait. When you are finished with your meal, walk across the street and grab some ice cream for dessert. Anytime we are in the area, we stop by. Highly recommended for people looking for unique hot dogs and/or a quick family meal. read more

Been wanting to try this place long before the fire. New place looks great. Looks like they took time to bring back a traditional spot. Tried a few things. The hot dog is spot on Corn dogs and rings were crispy, fresh and hot. On the down side; a long wait with few in line, $3.29 for a large (not large) soda seems a bit much. The chili dog sauce is heavy on the tomato and if you are a fan of liquid cheese you will be happy. Would definitely come back to try more. read more

Ok so I'll preface this by saying I grew up with this place. Been going there for as long as I can remember. So yeah, the nostalgia is real. I was excited to try the new place. I love how they kept it similar to the original layout and decor. I love the fries. Nothing beats fresh cut. Now, unlike others my go to is the cheeseburger, but, with cheese sauce instead of the standard. I've been getting that for as long as I can remember too. This place burned down and reopened larger and prettier, but the food isn't better. I really like the place anyway, but more because I've been coming for decades, than for the actual food. The food is a little overpriced to be honest. They are small boiled hot dogs- the best part is the chili sauce and cheese and other toppings. Food was great. We got a side of coleslaw to add on top of our dogs. Everything was made fresh fries were hot and tasty the cheese dip was hot and delicious with the fries and added to hotdog. I was so excited to run into this place, I remember it from back in the 90s but it wasn't what I recalled anymore. The decor is really nice and it's been updated, restroom was clean! I had a basic hot dog with mustard, onion and pickles plus fried mushrooms. The hot dog wasn't anything that I couldn't have gotten at Giant Eagle. I ordered a hot dog with chili and cheese because, ever since leaving the LA area (where there's the legendary Pink's) I haven't been able to get a very good one. What I got was completely, totally meh. Picture the most generic white-bread bun from the grocery store. Put the most generic, little, tasteless Oscar Meyer type wiener on it. This place has changed since it reopened . We have been there three time in the last couple months. The first time the pop taste funny and they gave me a discount . Tonight we ordered and was given the wrong order that they gave to the car in front of us making us wait . when we got home we noticed that the chili and cheese was all over the bun very sloppy and messy! We really like Hot Dog Heaven. They have fair-style fresh cut fries, hot dogs, chili dogs and various ice cream treats. They have been in Amherst for 44 years. Set up in a former family home, their dining is a little cramped, clean but somewhat sticky( maybe cleaning solution?). This was the only thing that made this place a 4. Does not stop us from coming. Nor should you. Last visit we got a "person pak". 4 hot dogs , a medium fry and two drinks. We added a second fry, some chicken tenders and powdered sugar funnel cake fries plus a peanut butter sundae. Yum. read more

Passing through and spotted this drive thru. I ordered the bratwurst , dog with coney and cheese and fried mushrooms. I had a long drive home so I ate in car. The mushrooms where expensive for the 5or6 I got. They were very cold in the center. The brat was already shriveled up leather because it was 3:30pm. The coney dog was better but after the brat and mushrooms I was not in mood. I spent 15.00 and some change. Not worth it and will never go back! Very dissatisfied. We stopped for ice cream because this place is one on the Lorain County ice cream trail. The inside is nothing special, and somewhat run down. In fact, it felt like it needed a good cleaning. The hot dogs smelled good, but we just came for ice cream. I had a Heath flurry and it was very good. A small was more than enough for a good fill of ice cream. Others got milkshakes and parfaits and were happy. Would definitely return. We returned yesterday at lunch time for hot dogs and fries and were not disappointed. We stopped by this place after my sons basketball game this past Sunday, I've always heard good things so we decided to check it out. The dogs were nice sized and tasty franks and the fries were fresh and crispy. There is a lot more on the menu such as burgers, shakes etc... I would go here more often if it were closer. read more

We usually do burgers with everything on them.. there not big pattys. But there fully topped and cooked to be tastey. The hotdogs are good. You customize your toppings. The french fries are tastey. They are more of the real natural skinny potato type. Not super crunchy not overly soft. They do not take long for your order. They also offer a great variety of milkshakes. Got off work early for a change and thought we would head 12 miles for a good hot dog. Ordered jumbo dog, kielbasa, fries and mushrooms. Got an unsweetened tea and wife got a milkshake. Came to $31 and thought okay, used to be good. Went and found a nice place to park and watch people bar hop. Worst meal I have had! Jumbo dog was cold. Kielbasa was ice cold and bun was so soggy it would not let go of the foam container, but ate the sausage any way. Everything was on top of fries cold and smashed in the bag. Got a total of 7 mushrooms for $5 and was only warm item in bag. Found a dumpster behind theater to dispose of what we did not eat. And headed 12 miles back.
