However, it did affect our ability to use the Uber/taxi transportation method because it created some confusion with drop off and pick up. This was an issue that we were willing to work with, but would be worth knowing about if you are planning on staying here in the next several months, in case it would be a deterrent. We used several saunas in the Helsinki area, and found the hotel sauna lacking. Sauna area and gym are spotless, peaceful, clean, and very pretty. My only thought about the sauna was that it was lukewarm... And lacked the ability to get hot. The gym was very nice. Lots of equipment options. Nice pool, too. Great restaurant. As I entered the hotel I noticed the dirty outside facade and tattered Hilton flag. We were given a low floor with no upgrades available. The elevator door buttons were sticky and gross, the floor appeared to not be vacuumed or cleaned in a very long while as well as a disturbing amount of gross water marks on the glass elevator. We assented quickly to the 4 th floor. Not the executive floor we should have been placed on and as I exited the elevator I began to sneeze and couldn't stop. The layer of dust that greeted me upon exited was appalling. Apparently, this hotel cannot reach certain areas and therefore chooses not to clean them on any level. I noticed the same on floor 7 when visiting the executive lounge which was small and cramped and the pool/sauna. Needless to say. I tried to spend most of my days out exploring instead of in a dust filled hotel where my allergies were quite uncontrollable. This was not the Hilton experience I expected not deserve for the money time and effort I am using for my holiday.

There is a self-serve fridge with smoothies, juices, vitamin water, and other cold beverages. Not to mention that it's open 24/7. Most hotel gyms are very tiny with only small weights and a few cardio machines (simply just to check off the "has a gym / fitness centre" checkbox, but this one is comparable to a full-blown gym that usually requires monthly membership. I was quite impressed. The buffet breakfast is excellent. There are multiple stations: custom-made omelettes (where you can fill out a sheet for your order, then give it to the chef in the open kitchen), hot food, salads, bread, muesli / cereals, warm oatmeal, pancakes with all kinds of toppings, kids' food, fruits, etc. There are plant-based everything: soy and oat milk, soy yogurt, hummus (original and beetroot), various nut spreads (peanut butter, hazelnuts, etc.), and also a gluten-free section consisting of gluten-free breads, crackers, and rice cakes. The highlight is the smoked salmon plate that's practically unlimited because it's a buffet. Fruits and veggies are all fresh. Love the mixed berries and watermelon slices. There is even a DIY fresh orange juice station, where there are cut oranges ready for you to use the presser to squeeze your own orange juice. Beside it, there are freshly pressed juices. I tried the blueberry juice / shots in the mini glasses - very fresh. The rooms (beds, pillows, bathroom / shower) are comfortable, clean, and as expected for this hotel class. There are conference rooms throughout the hotel, and a communal kitchen with mini library on almost every floor. Location is good - right across the harbour with ships, 20 mins walk from the city centre, lots of restaurants and shops, and main railway station. There are tram stops within 5 mins walk from the hotel entrance.

It's also only a 10 min walk to the Jumbo mall which has a food court and grocery stores! I would definitely stay here again if flying into Helsinki in the future!

We had an insulated bag and staff offered to keep our stuff in their refrigerator but we needed access to it throughout the night so we just had them give us ice for our bag. We went and explored the city and the staff kept our luggage locked up for us which I appreciated. My King room had a partial city view and was facing an office building. Room came with a Safe (with a built in Outlet for devices -which I haven't seen), mini fridge and iron. Woodwork for the Headboard and on the ceiling made for a different and unique look. Outlets were plenty with USB ports. Breakfast was available for 14 Euros and they have a restaurant (Bistro Vilholn) attached. Had dinner one of the evenings and would recommend. Sauna (separated for M/F) was a good size although the Gym was a small one. There is the option to go to a much larger Fitness Center close by. Taxis arrived minutes after being called. I saw a Piano in the back seating area and lounge. Would highly recommend for Staff that provided exceptional service, location, restaurant and amenities.

She was so warm and welcoming, that I had to ask if she was born in Finland. She was. I was surprised as we had gotten used to a kind of stand-offish, distantly polite Finnish personality but she was friendly and animated with lots of smiles. It was a perfect last moment before we left this beautiful country. Despite all Finnish airport hotels being kinda pricey, we'd stay again if in Helsinki Might see ya there.
