It's also walking distance to many bars, restaurants, the main cathedrals, the ferry peir, and the bus/train station. Staff: very friendly and always with a smile. Says a lot considering they probably have to answer the same exact types of questions to each traveler. They man the front desk 24/7 and will buzz you in whenever you choose to return home. They also clean the common areas daily and it shows. Interior: the hostel is all on the 3rd floor (no elevator) on both sides of a main staircase. There are a variety of rooms from doubles to dorms (6 beds). There are also shared bathrooms/showers on either end of the hall. A bit of a rush in the morning, but otherwise not so bad. Misc: a significant amount of hot water heaters (to bond over coffee or tea); a 'free food' section from travelers who couldn't take the food with them; a very large common area/kitchen; a large variety of maps/tips/schedules; and they will print for 1 euro. The room was comfortable for two people and the shared bathrooms were super close! The kitchen facilities are awesome, plenty of kitchen utensils, pots and pans to use.
