Very nice airport hotel literally walking distance to the airport. Depending on which terminal it's probably a 10 walk or less over to the terminals. Very very convenient as I was flying out pretty early the next day. They also have a cart machine in case you need one to get your luggage over as well. The lobby and reception area is huge and very modern. A very nice upscale feel even better than most Hiltons. The restaurant was beyond that. The rooms were clean, decent sized and comfortable. I'm not sure when this hotel was built but I want to say it is newer or they just went thru some upgrades. The rooms were well designed as well with outlets and lights and switches in very practical places. Breakfast was a very good spread here. They had an iPad to pour juices. Again very modern. Great place to stay.

Steak

Very good hotel next to the airport, but so so restaurant- Gui. They need a new Chef. Was disappointed at the restaurant, food was salty and expensive. Had the 3 course on the menu-steak and the fish. Best part was the dessert.

Deer meat dinner

Dear meat prepared to perfection. The silkiest whipped potatoes onions and herbs. When traveling it's great to have real food options. This Hilton airport restaurant in Helsinki did not disappoint. Finished with a cheesecake style dessert with local berries.

Need fillet in vinegar wine sauce.

I don't typically eat in the hotel when traveling, but my trip to Helsinki was too compressed to get out much. The Hilton restaurant was a pleasant surprise with some better than average food. Including some regional favorites like reindeer and Arctic char (similar to salmon, but with a lighter flavor). I enjoyed my short stay but hope to get back soon to see and experience more.

Executive plus bath.

I have stayed at this hotel nearly every time I visited Helsinki on business. It is right at the airport at the end of Terminal 2. You walk here, not ride a shuttle. A very we'll appointed hotel in the finest Scandinavian style. They have several levels of rooms. Even traveling internationally with the crazy sunshine day and night here in summer, I have never been awoken during the night by planes or noise. Someone did a good job here. I wish it was the same elsewhere. As an American traveler, I recommend upgrading your stay from the basic room to at least a room with breakfast. It also includes internet and if you aren't Hilton Elite, the cost extra is more than the upgrade. Good restaurant with very long hours. Best food at the airport in my opinion. And meetings, meetings, meetings. In a meeting room or in the Exectuive lounge. You can have meetings. Great Airport Hilton. Above and beyond what I expect at any airport hotel anywhere in the world.

A short walk from terminal 2 with a covered side walk. Very convenient for early flights. Great rooms and staff.

The kids burger... Was okay. I have yet to find a good burger in Europe.

The hotel and their pods are conveniently located, about a 5-minute walk from baggage claim/arrivals. Super comfy and spotlessly clean. We booked and paid online the day before -- easy peasy. On the day of our stay, we received an email with the PIN code to access the pod. Our reservation was for 4-hours, from noon - 4pm and cost €60. They have slightly smaller pods for 1-person that'll run ya €40. The code was activated exactly at the time of our reservation. Just a heads up... We arrived about 10-minutes early and the code did not work until noon on the dot. Restrooms are not far away in the hotel lobby/reception area. There is also an AMAZING food court area in the airport. We brought food from Pretty Boy Wingery and Lopez y Lopez back to the pod. The wi-fi was strong enough to stream a movie on the iPad and the beds (hubby took the couch folded down into a bed and I took the bed that pulled down from the wall) were comfy enough to sneak in an hour long nap. My only complaint is that damn hall/foyer light. It seems to be motion activated. So, it would turn on and shine into our pod anytime there was any movement in the hallway. Not a huge issue outside of nap time. It kept waking us up every time it turned back on. If you book a pod and want to get some serious sleep, pack an eye mask!

The hotel is a few steps away from the food court, the 24 hour supermarket, and also R Kioski where you can buy SIM cards. There an elevator to the hotel. We didn't purchase breakfast because we have airport lounge access. Check in and out was fast and easy. The rooms were bigger than we expected. We go the twin room with the beds at right angles so there was space for our luggage to open. The bathroom has a heated floor which was lovely. There's not really a separate show cubicle, just a curtain. My only tiny complaint is that you bump into the corner of the sink when you sit on the toilet. The sink should be a bit smaller or moved a little to the other side. This hotel is really conveniently located and the price was good too. We booked directly by emailing and got a much better rate than was available online on their site or 3rd party sites. Would definitely stay here again for an overnight layover.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Helsinki-Vantaa Airport two separate times during our…read moretrip to Finland, one night when we arrived and one night before our flight out of Helsinki to Amsterdam. The first visit was a three star visit, due to the lack of air conditioning (not mentioned by woman at the front desk when we checked in) and the very tiny room with the phone booth-sized shower. When I called to the front desk to ask how to turn on the air conditioning in the room, she simply said, "Sorry, it's not working at this time." She did not offer a fan, so we just opened the window. Unfortunately, it was quite warm all night, so we did not sleep well. The next morning, I chatted with the very friendly manager at the front desk and he was appalled that a fan was not offered. He said they have a "whole room of fans" for guests to use. I told him that we would be coming back for one more night at the end of our Finland trip and asked if he would note our file to offer a fan if the air conditioning was still inoperable at that time. He said he would do that for us. Fast forward to our second visit to this hotel. We were delighted to have been given a free upgrade to an Executive room. There was a fan already set up in the room (the AC was still not working very well). The room itself was huge, with a large bathroom and shower, a separate sitting area with a makeup mirror, as well as a free chocolate bar and two free cookies. Very nice! We were also given two free water bottles at the front desk (I'm at IHG member), which we weren't given on our first stay. I would definitely recommend paying extra for the breakfast! It begins at 5:00 am, in case you have an early flight. This was my favorite hotel breakfast on the trip. There were so many wonderful things, such as the Karelian pastries and egg butter (a delicacy in Finland), a wonderful berry coffee cake, and many hot items. Everything was delicious! The staff working at breakfast hours were very friendly and welcoming as well. One other nice feature of this hotel is the free airport shuttle. The pickup spot at the airport is bus stop #42. The shuttle arrives every 20 - 30 minutes and services the Holiday Inn and two Scandic hotels. The shuttle service from the hotels to the airport starts very early in the morning and was very convenient. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

This location was great because it's close to the airport and has a free airport shuttle (something I now know is a requirement for me during international travel). It met the need however, the room left MUCH to be desired. Very small, the bathroom was tiny too and the shower leaked all over the bathroom. No frills but again, met the need and for that we are grateful. Would not stay there any longer than a one-night layover. Also, no free breakfast.

The room was nice with good space, and a convenient kitchenette. I easily walked 15 mins to the grocery store in the mall and made food in the room. They even had bikes available for guest use. The only downsides were the shuttle and sound. At check in, the staff member marked me down for the shuttle since I needed one of the early times. She said it only goes at that early a time if requested. Since I'm extra attentive to time on travel days, I walked to the stop 15 mins before the scheduled time, looked on the other side of a tour bus to be sure I wasn't missing it, and saw no shuttle. I stayed where I was told it picks up, and when it didn't show up 7 mins after the scheduled time, asked at the desk if it was running behind. She said it already went and I must not have looked around. They said I would need to wait for the next shuttle, which cut my timing very close. However, I learned they don't actually wait for the scheduled time- they just go at whatever time they arrive at a stop and don't account for reservations which is very hard to plan for. I did not appreciate being blamed for not seeing it or being there on time when I could prove that I was. Also, in my room I could hear music and convos from other rooms through the walls/vents but thankfully people got quiet relatively early. Otherwise the stay met my needs and the space was nice.

Loved the carbs here! The scone was crumbly and zesty, studded with raisins. Washed down well with my glass of bubbly, coffee would be great too! The toast was thick and chewy and so good, not processed tasting at all, freshly baked with good ingredients. Sat outside with lots of birds eager for me to drop something, but I ate every crumb. This hotel is definitely built for conferences and gathering large groups. You'll find meeting rooms, coworking spaces, and a large courtyard attached to the restaurant. It's hard to beat the location across the street from a park and only two blocks from the main Esplanade in Helsinki. The star of the show is definitely the complementary breakfast experience featuring fresh juice, nutrition, shots, crêpes, variety of overnight oats, and several hot dishes with mini being traditional finish offerings. I could've spent hours eating at the complementary breakfast -the courtyard seating outside topped it all off. I will probably stay here again for the breakfast alone. However, I'm a big believer that no how no matter how fancy the hotel room design, if it's not super clean, it doesn't really do it for me.
