Stayed here for a week and it was perfect. I don't like to optimize for hotels while traveling…read morebecause I tend to spend so little time in them, but this means that you can really be rolling the dice as far as lodging is concerned. I booked a single room here and was not disappointed. First and foremost, the location is absolutely impossible to beat. You're walking distance from both L1 and L2 trams as well as a TER train station. Additionally, you're right next to Avenue Jean Médecin, which is a must-see. The Avenue also offers a direct walking (or short tram) route down to Place Masséna and Vieux Nice. The room itself was both clean and quaint. Free WiFi is offered. Towels are changed and trash is emptied daily. The staff was nice and helpful. Free breakfast is offered in the morning in the form of coffee and cereal, which I feel is pretty standard for most hostels I've been to. The hostel itself has a great terrace in between buildings where people like to meet, drink, and socialize. There are cool restaurants nearby, as well as a great bakery and a grocery store. The hostel also has a kitchen with shareable dishes, which we took advantage of for our wine. That being said, keep your expectations low: it is a hostel, after all. It's around 100 euro per night, so as long as you're not expecting the Hyatt or the Ritz, you should not be disappointed. Would highly recommend and definitely plan on coming back! This was the best hostel imaginable…read more The location is right by the beach but not right on it so it offers a bit of calm from all the touristyness. The rooms and amenities were clean and abundant. Very impressed that it is such an accommodating hostel. The staff is off the hook... super friendly, super helpful, and really just the best. I would absolutely stay here again, and recommend it to anyone coming to the area. In fact I recommend it more than any hotel or airbnb!

Always asking how we…read morewere doing, cracking jokes, giving us tips to help with our adventure planning, etc. Location: It's located about 3 blocks back from the beach, which was great. And it's a short walk from the promenades and main nightlife areas, but just outside of it all. So it's generally quiet at night. Of course this also depends on who is staying at the hostel at the time, but that's a risk you always take at hostels. When we stayed it was quiet a couple nights, and then loud one night. But staff was good about kicking out the drunkies towards midnight. Usually we were out, but the one night we were staying it, it got a bit noisy. Everyone was always lively and hanging in the common areas. Drinking and talking story at night. Accommodations: the rooms were very nice. We had a 3 bed room and it had it's own bathroom which is always a nice luxury in a hostel. Towels were also included. Only problem with the bathroom was the shower was TINY. So small, I had to contort my body into all sorts of positions just trying to bend over to get my shampoo bottle. Nice to have our own shower, but could've been larger. Rooms were well decorated and painted and looked very nice. There was a TV and some storage cupboards with loops for a padlock if you brought your own. I'm sure they would rent them too if you needed one. Breakfast was included if you booked through hostelworld: cereal, pasteries, muffins, toast, butter, jam, coffee, milk, etc. Pretty standard affair for an included breakfast. It was roughly 2 euro if you didn't. They also had beach items anyone could use, including beach towels and pads for laying on the rocky Nice beaches. Towels are cleaned, you take from the clean pile, return to the dirty towels bin. It was nice to have these things instead of using my bath towel on a rocky beach. Overall, this was a good hostel and I'd recommend it to friends and most likely stay here again. +bath and beach towels included +well decorated and kept hostel +breakfast included when booking through hostelworld +staff was extremely friendly and helpful -private/smaller rooms have ridiculously small shower

We arrived at Hotel Felix around 6pm. Got the choice of two rooms, one with Wifi or one with…read moreBalcony. We chose the room with Balcony. Next thing you know, a lady takes us 2 Blocks away from the actual Hotel into an Apartment. First we thought, ok we take that, because we liked the tiny balcony (even though we were out all day, so it's not necessary if you are out most of the time) but once we checked out the bathroom and bed, we quickly changed our minds. The bed was like a foam/futon mattress, I totally sunk in that bed, it was extremely bad and beyond uncomfortable. Then I wanted to take a shower and was so disgusted. It was moldy left and right, with Mosquito and other insects crawling around. We said to ourselves, that's it, forget the Balcony, we rather have a small CLEAN & ACCEPTABLE room. We took our bags and walked back to the hotel. We were exhausted from our long train ride but still kept it cool, explained the situation with the Apartment and asked very kindly for a room at the hotel itself just like we booked it. And here starts the drama....he was getting so loud, so rude and said, "take your deposit and you go somewhere else". We were seriously in shock, how can someone treat his guests like that. I might understand if we were getting there upset but we approached him nicely and with respect. It was after 7pm by that time and we just wanted the room we paid for. I work in the travel industry for over 10 years and never like to mention it but once he started lying, I said that's it. First he kicked us out, then he said "well, if you want to stay, you have to pay for the hotel". I said, "we paid for the hotel, not for an Apartment 2 Blocks away from the actual hotel". Then he said, the Apartment is cheaper. Well, I don't care if it's cheaper or not, we booked the "Hotel Felix, a double room with private en-suite". After going back and forth, he gave us probably the shittiest room in the hotel. It took another hour to get that room ready and by almost 9pm we got the room key. By then, we were beyond frustrated, upset and lost many valuable hours. He also made it clear, that if we didn't like that room, we could leave and we are not getting our money back. Last but not least, we experienced a bad water leak from the room above us. It was dropping down on our bed and stuff, so my husband decided quickly to go down and inform him about that. You would think, that he would be thankful & appreciative about the damage that was about to get worse but no, he cussed my husband out and said to him "you don't tell me anything, you can check out anytime, if you don't like it". He is the WORST BUSINESS OWNER/MANAGER THAT I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. He is definitely not a smart business owner. Enough said, I highly do NOT recommend this place at all. I only give it 1 Star, because the location is good but there are so many other hotels/hostels to stay at with great location & service.

Stayed here a couple nights in a sea view room which has a perfect view of the Promenade des Anglais. Room was very comfortable with a large balcony. The hotel toiletries smell great and there is an in-room Nespresso machine with different pods. The hotel has an excellent breakfast buffet downstairs with plenty of options including pastries and charcuterie. As it was February, the pool was not available but understandable as it is winter. The gym is serviceable, but has limited equipment. The hotel location is away from the hubbub of Nice, which is great if you do not like street noise. But it does mean a drive or tram ride is needed to get to the main attractions in Nice. Still, I rate this as my favorite hotel stay in Nice because of its sea view.
