I am SO happy I stopped in this store and met Hoss! I bought my first waist cincher/trainer approximately 5-6 months ago for a special event here and I have used it so so so much and so appreciate it's durability and beauty (my waist w/it=amazing) When I first arrived, Hoss measured me to a few of the waist trainers and we tried a few on. I was at a weird in between size and Hoss told me that he would make me a custom one fit specifically to me and my measurements. I picked out my fabric, paid and left! Halloween is my favorite time of year. So when I realized that my costume would look so much better with a corset - an item of clothing I have lusted after yet was never able to afford before, I decided to throw caution (and economics) to the wind and see what I could find... You see corsets are not one of those items that are worth buying discount. The ones you find at the mall this time of year are shitty knockoffs of what they should be - handmade pieces made for the body type of the person who will wear it. I called Hoss and made an appointment (which is necessary) and went in. Within 15 minutes, I was fitted, taught how to put on a corset without assistance and given the dos and don'ts of corset wearing and care. Since, I have worn my corset twice (and it ain't even Halloween yet) and I can say that the price was totally worth it. I have been complimented on how it looks, I feel more fit and my back pain (a new development) has been relieved. Thank you Mr. Hoss. Before I checked out Hoss International, I was #overit. Over it dot com, dot org, dot net, dot gov....when it came to nice corsets and lingerie. It all seemed cheap, flammable, not durable and extremely uncomfortable. Yes, I'm looking at you, Yandy, Frederick's, Victoria's Secret, and even the wildly overpriced sweatshop-produced garments at Trashy Lingerie in Beverly Hills. This store, however, had me like a kid in a candy store. So much satin, lace and other gorgeous adornments! Everything is neatly organized and pleasing to the eye, and the mannequins give you an idea of what it will look like. If you make an appointment, as I did, Hoss will personally walk you through the store and help you choose what will look best on your figure. He doesn't even measure you, he can tell on sight what waist size you are. How crazy is that. He will also show you how to put on the corset/cincher/garter belt so you can do it on your own, and without assistance. What I liked best was that the cincher wasn't even organ/bone-crushing. I could breathe, I could sit, and my posture was 110% improved. It was a miracle, as you'll see in the picture I posted. Hoss will make you anything you like, in any style, and any fabric you choose. Love that. Haven't yet purchased anything, because it's quite pricey -- but hoping to in the near future! read more

Another reviewer nailed it on the head. If I could give zero stars I would. I do not understand how he has ANY good reviews. Stay away from this place, there are plenty of other great lingerie shops in downtown. Hoss is a PREDATOR that uses his business as a way to lure people into a space that he is in control of. I tried speaking to the fashion district police that ride around on bikes about my experience after I left but nothing came of it. I was in search of a skirt for a costume and another vendor down the street from Hoss said that he might have what I was looking for. I was a little nervous going in: first of all, you have to walk up some stairs to the second floor of a building in a bad part of the fashion district. Second, there is a gate that has a padlock on it that he has to unlock for you to come inside the store. Then he locks the gate behind you. The gate is too tall to climb over, and in case you needed to leave, you have to ask him to unlock it. He started off being really polite and attentive, asking what I was looking for, showing me all of the stuff in the store, was friendly. My alarm bells had been going off since I walked in but I told myself that I should just get what I needed for my costume and leave. I explained the item, even had picture examples, that I was looking for and he didn't have anything like it. But then he started talking about how he could make it for me, and then brought me over to the "wall of corsets" to show how he makes everything in the store himself. This part of the store is not visible from the gate that you enter through because of the way the shelves are set up. He insisted that I try one on but I said no multiple times, that I didn't want to change, that I didn't like corsets, that I felt uncomfortable, but he was incredibly persistent and pulled up a YouTube video of a news segment featuring the store, and then wrapped the corset around me. Again, I had said no and that I was uncomfortable multiple times and he said that I "shouldn't worry, he was featured on the local news, hes worked with celebrities, he's not weird" and then he told me to take off my pants and tried talking me into a photo shoot. I told him I wanted to leave and he changed the subject, and then took my phone from me and started taking pictures of me on it. I again told him I had to leave and that I wanted my phone back and he again said not to worry that he wasn't weird but then told me he had a neck fetish and that he loved my neck and asked to touch MY NECK and I said no and that I really needed to leave and that I wanted me phone back. When he handed me the phone I immediately texted my boyfriend (who was at work) that I was in trouble and needed help and so he called and I announced that my boyfriend was waiting downstairs for me and I needed to leave but kept my boyfriend on the line on speaker in my pocket so he knew what was going on. Hoss said I needed to buy something first and I just wanted to leave so I said I would buy this ruffled collar he had previously quoted at $25. When we got to the cash register he said it was $75 and when I questioned him about the change in price he said not to waste his time and that he hand made everything in the store and I needed to pay for quality and my experience with him. WHAT???? I refused and in tears said that I wanted to leave RIGHT NOW and that he needed to unlock the gate or I would have my boyfriend come up. He agreed but told me I needed to wait and disappeared into a dark room to the right of the cash register for a few minutes. I almost called 911 bc of how upset I already was and the fact that I was basically being held against my will and it felt like forever waiting for him to come back to open the gate but he came out with the key and then let me leave. It was a really disturbing experience and I can only hope that no one else has to go through what I went through and that his business gets shut down. read more

I've always loved the look of corsets but had never tried one on, the owner helped me pick out a waist cincher and helped me get it on. We tried several different corsets and a blouse to see what it would look like as outerwear. The designs are amazing and the quality is by far the best I've seen in ages. so know that this is an investment, these corsets and waist cinchers are strong. The price is about what I expected for a high quality corset, but again it's an investment and something I plan to use to begin waist training. Highly recommend. Curiosity compels us to take a stroll down the hallway lined with sexy costume-wearing model posters. The stairs lead to a secured glass door, partially curtained window, and a doorbell.
