This shop is magnificent - it stocks everything you will ever need, and more, including the kitchen…read moresink. There are products in there which you will never know you needed until you see them. Such as a sushi maker - I mean, yes you can easily roll it yourself, but why not have a machine that does it for you, ensuring you have perfectly formed sushi rolls every time? I went in with a dire need to buy a tea pot. I left with a tea pot, French press coffee plunger, tea strainer and an egg timer. Trust me, there is no way you can enter this shop without buying more than one item - unless you hate cooking, in which case you probably wouldn't even step foot inside the place. You can find everything from a prawn peeler to a contraption which prevents avocados from going mouldy. From ice cream machines to Moroccan tagines - this place has it all. Just be prepared to part with a chunk of your bank account.

Looking for a gift for your mum, nanna, aunty... or even sister? Look no further! This place is…read morepacked full of very pretty home and kitchen utensils and accessories. Even if those people in your life, whom you are shopping for, don't cook or bake, they'll be happy to learn if you get them something nifty and pretty from this store. I'm sure of it because, I've ended up obsessed with shopping through Robin's Kitchen, as I find a new product bought from here always motivates me to cook and/ or bake (depending on the latest utensil purchased). The ladies who work here are very lovely. They look like they belong on those cooking shows you see on TV, because they're quite knowledgable in their kitchen products and I am guessing they're all pretty good cooks themselves. I love their range in colourful knives, it makes the whole chopping-veggies-fast situation look less daunting... and more friendlier. Still just as sharp and dangerous though I suppose, but still a little more approachable. They have so many other kitchen products that make the perfect gifts for ladies (or even men!). All very useful too. Such a wonderful little kitchen store.

As far as Brookside goes, it's been my family's local (and very small) shopping centre all my life…read more It's because Brookside has always provided the fundamentals: places to get groceries, newsagents, a Coffee Club, Myer and Target, a chemist, and a few other ever-changing stores dotted throughout it. I've essentially always seen Brookside as a basic shopping centre and, even though it has a special place in my heart, a shopping centre without any speciality shops to be profoundly proud of. But now, a little bit older and hopefully a little bit wiser, I stumbled across House + Garden by pure chance as I was waiting for a friend. I'm happy to report that House + Garden has a really great/love/affordable range of homewares, knick-knacks, furniture, furnishings, and kitchen gadgets. I'm not obnoxious enough to think that I've seen all types of cabinet styles, but obnoxious enough to say that I've seen a lot, especially after trolling through Antique stores. But I was delighted when I saw a white cabinet set that has five charming hidden doors. House + Garden also boasts a fantastic range of arty pictures, some of which are inspiring, and some of which have famous people like Grace Kelly and Marilyn Monroe splattered across them. The kitchen section is equally charming, and set up just like it would be inside a home. I can easily say I would find something here and if I had the funds, would also spill my savings. I'm a fan, and I'm really impressed that Brookside hosts such a lovely and quaint little homeware shop.
