I was always a big fan of Daiso. When I was living in Malaysia and Singapore for 2 years before moving to Australia, I always bought a lot of staff from Daiso (mostly staff which I don't really need :D)
When this shop opened on 23rd of April, I went there to check it out even on the first open day. I was so excited and didn't care if I had to stand in the queue for a long time. But, honestly I was abit disappointed. Maybe because I've been to Daiso which are bigger than this and having more stuff than this one. I put too much expectation on it. I ended up only buy 3 small things like potato shaver, eye mask and my bf got a battery.
FYI: Daiso is a Japanese brand which sell a lot of things. It's like a reject shop in Australia. It has stationary, beauty, home, home, and cleaning staff. They also sell some Japanese brand snacks and drinks. Basically you can find a lot of different items here. In Australia, all stuff cost $2.80 each. It's kinda pricy I think compare with other Daiso. In Singapore it only cost $2 Singaporean dollar per item. Honestly, we could fine some of the items cheaper at Kmart/rejectshop. So don't be fool by $2.80 per item.
The layout of the store is more modern than other Daiso store. The one in myer centre it has purple/violet theme of the store. I kinda like it. Seems appealing to me. Couple of times I came back to this store after the first visit. It has a lot of green stuff which i like, and they all look adorable, for example, container, rubbish bin, buckets, etc.
If you like baking, this store has huge range of small baking tray, they are all so cute with stars or love shapes.
Go check it out! Why not? read more
