I remember when MOZI launched and was such a small collection of knick knacks for the kitchen. And now look at this little Aussie brand that could! Measuring spoons, plastic bag holders (yes, they're a thing!), bowls, tea towels, plates, dog leads, napkins, and even candles are all neatly displayed in their "print story" categories making a visit to MOZI on trendy James Street an organised mind's dream. Everything is in its place and it makes it that much easier to find what you're looking for. It's fun without being frivolous and twee without being saccharine. If you're looking for a quirky and unique gift for a loved one getting married, moving into a new house, having a baby, birthday, engagement, just because...you get the point...MOZI should most certainly be on your list. The prices are what I personally would consider reasonable with most items being under $40. PS: If someone gifts me the sequined fox tote, I might just have kittens.

It features everything you can possibly think of needed for the home kitchen or a restaurant, including ovens and cookers. For me, I went through a Chef Ramsay stage, where I'd care deeply about the ingredients and subsequent tools I would use to turn those things into robust dishes. I didn't know about this place, and I'm kinda glad I didn't because I would've dropped a fortune on getting the perfect mixing bowl or an industrial strength blender (no cheap Brevill here, thanks!). My…read morepartner and I visited the store and noticed a dining table for sale with 40% off, on speaking to the shop assistant she stated it was no longer for sale and removed the sale ticket in front of us. However she said if we were to buy it she would honour the sale price but only on this occasion so we had to think fast and not leave the store (nice sales tactic). This obviously created a sense of urgency and we ended up buying the table as it was a great price. Then came the $153.95 shipping fee on top (why not have a Australian supply?). But imagine my disappointment when I discover a few days later the table is on sale online for cheaper than we paid in store! Finding this out I attempted to cancel delivery but it had already shipped and now I was liable for a 20% restocking fee. Long story short, this happened on 9th August, it is now 23rd August. I have left a message for the store manager to call me back but no luck, on 2 occasions American Pottery Barn staff have said they will call me back and no luck. Today I have been told again I will get a call back and not only that a full refund inclusive of shipping and restocking totalling $957...I await to see if after 5 phone calls I can finally forget this shopping experience. p.s - a further 2 phone calls (taking the total up to 7). Store manager still have the decency to call, assistant called and no question about the poor service received just asked for card number. It is free to say sorry, explore why customers have had poor service, reassure and take steps to make sure it doesn't happen again and customers shall return. I'll only be returning if there is a sign saying under new management.

Only on a whim, driving past, did I think to stop here. For just over $8 for 100 pieces, it was by far the cheapest option my research had found. And let's keep in mind I was shopping for 600 knives and forks. I was left to my own devices to search the store but know the staff would have been there to help in a jiffy had I asked. I'm not one for overbearing sales assistants so the peace to scan the store in my own manner was really appreciated. Whether for work or home, I've no doubt I'll be back to buy more gadgets and kitchen paraphernalia.
