This review is for a General Surgeon who's office is in Hospital Angeles: Dr. Mario Alberto Arredondo Ortiz. I call him Dr. Arredondo. Bilingual: Spanish and English Dr. Arredondo took excellent and immediate care of me for two distinct hernia surgeries, the second was an emergency: July 2024 and Feb 2025. Although Dr. Arredondo's primary office is located in Hospital Angeles, he also operates at two other Hospitals Excel and Florence. My first surgery was at Excel, second at Florence. Both hospitals were excellent as well. From Pre-Op, through the surgery, and Post-Op care, Dr. Arredondo and his staff were thorough and detailed regarding how I was treated. Dr. Arredondo is a clear and reasonable communicator. His staff too are Bilingual. He can be reached through Whatsapp which is very convenient and, of course, timely. The other doctors involved in my care and surgeries - Cardiologists and Anesthesiologists - were selected by Dr. Arredondo and, like Dr. Arredondo, were genuinely attentive, informative and reassuring. Bottom line: Trust. Dr. Arredondo is trustworthy and, for me, that was critically important through both surgical procedures. I had a surgery done by Dr Zivalda who practices at this hospital. Post surgery, when I had an issue I got my surgical report. The report was missing important information. I have asked in many ways and for over 9 months for a correction. He says he will, but he does not. I also need him to sign off on a report so I can have a second opinion on an issue. Again, he will not. I get promised it will happen and it does not. It is unprofessional and not acceptable practice. read more

This hospital is like a vacation hotel...The check in process was smooth... The hospital as a whole is beyond decent and exceeded my expectations. They have a welcoming concierge who walks you to your room and explains/answers all questions. Upon arrival into your room, there are a bunch of goodies. Take note that out if all the hospitals I've been to, this is one of the two best... The rooms are super clean... You have your own private bathroom with a shower. Note that toiletries are provided, including slippers. The staff has been wonderful, the food, well at least dinner was delicious (fajitas on skewers with yummy seasoned white rice & papaya). I will be going into surgery today and trust that everything will go smoothly. Parking is about 300 pesos per day. There were no problems coming into Tijuana via vehicle. Drove right in. read more

The Hospital itself is great, has great doctors and great service, great lab.The PARKING office is the problem. Their machine has a sign that they accept cards but they actually dont. They wouldnt let me pay any other way, not online, not over the phone, not with a credit card, in the office, not apple pay or any other way than cash which I did not have as I left to TJ in an emergency. My card was credit so I couldnt use it at the atm. Their main office was not helpful and the guy had the nerve to demand to keep my driver's license!! What right do they have to keep your license especially being a personal document one must carry at all times and with all our information! They wouldnt help AT ALL the person who I called from the machine just hung up on me and the person at the office had a bad attitude and just told me I couldnt leave unless I payed cash or left him my license. I had to get cash by paying my doctor an extra consultation and getting the money back in pesos. Terrible experience. Mostly because their attitude was rude and unhelpful in the parking office and over the phone in their main Mexico City Office. Other than that Ive had great experiences and care here save a bad experience with a gastroenterologist who was rude and kept his patients waiting for hours and cancelled my procedure twice. However that was an exception and all other doctors Ive seen here are excellent and the emergency care I received during an emergency was faster than in the US and with very good service. read more

Best hospital in TJ! If you're looking for amazing high quality drs go no further. I have been coming to see Dr. Navarro Endocrinologist for almost a year now! He's amazing and he's the reason I was finally diagnosed with feliaca disease. I came to TJ after a year of feeling horrible and having drs in Ca telling me it was all in my head and having to wait over 8 months to see specialist etc. I got blood tests and I found out I had celiac so I wasn't able to have gluten and my weight dropped as soon as I made the switch but I also felt 1000 times better! I also found out I need b12 shots for life. Dr Navarro will listen to your concerns and do through investigation with blood work and labs etc. He will also explain everything to you and speak English! I also have seen a gastroenterologist and a nutritionist here and they have always been amazing. My nutritionist is named Stacie Soto and she does really great work. I recommend this place if you have any issue and want a real answer. They are basically the cedar Sinai of TJ! read more

Esto fue hace casi diez años y aun sigue siendo el hospital de prestigio en la ciudad. He venido aquí a varias consultas y nunca he tenido un problema con las instalaciones. Tiene estacionamiento suficiente para pacientes y doctores, aunque si tienes un carro grande probablemente vas a tener problemas estacionando tu carro por que los lotes son muy angostos. Aunque las consultas no son las mas baratas, la calidad de los doctores que están aquí definitivamente es superior a cualquier otro consultorio medico al que he ido yo. Si tienes la fortuna de que te aseguranza medica cubre los gastos, o al menos algún porcentaje de los cobros te recomiendo mucho que vengas aquí. DO NOT ENTER THIS HELL HOLE! This is not Sanoviv. If you can read English, go there not here. I've tried to reach the head of the hospital to help him understand and rectify the nightmares going on here but he claims he can't remember me. His name is Dr. Amesqua. The way he LETS his staff treat Americans and Canadians is HORRIBLE. They have nice looking rooms but the most uncomfortable excuse for a mattress on earth. You'd never return for sleepless nights of back pain from the cheep PLASTIC covered mattress pad. You'd rather sleep in the chair but it won't recline far enough to let you. No sleep no rest no recovery. That is all you should expect here. The noise from the street never ends. You'll be awake all night and all day. At 1:11 am they wake you to take an Rx. I refused after one tablet and found that the nurse keeps the pill and you pay for it anyway. They laugh at the Dr's. My Dr. never knew I refused his Rx because he never bothered to ask me. I took one and only 1 pill & then the staff lied to everyone to cover their tracks. Over amitriptyline?! One review praised the food. NOPE! It was nothing but unhealthy tasteless garbage. I hadn't ate in 3 days when I arrived. 70% of every plate had no nutritional value at all. Plain white rice with no seasoning, flour tortilla, and white bread with processed cheese and nitrite filled compressed meat. I could not even eat one bite of the 1st two meals. Trays went back to the kitchen untouched and no one asked why. After being awakened at 1 am I was hungry on Sunday morning. I got nothing but a plate of powered egg whites, juice and a cup of cut banana. That was my final straw and I called and asked if I could have "real food" to eat! I finally got a salad for breakfast after I explained what food is and what food is not. See the picture. Nothing fresh or uncooked is offered. A bowl of "dish water soup" was used just to fill the tray, I never touched that swill, they kept sending it. They never learn from their mistakes, and that makes this place a NO GO for all Americans. If they don't understand nutrition they don't know anything about health. I was charged for X-rays and other items that were never taken or used. The bill finally came 3 hours after I called and 4 hours after check out time. It arrives at your room in Spanish & the two men just want to swipe your card then and there no question asked. When I pointed out the X-Rays were never done the BILLING DEPARTMENT disappeared said they would go check and then never returned. Of course not, I'd already paid. Now my credit card co. will deal with them as fraudulent charges. They have ZERO INTEGRITY on every level. If you actually know what my doctor did, he'd be finished as a physician in Mexico. Dr. Amesqua runs a deranged and demon possessed mental asylum. Your life isn't safe here if your a Christian with the slightest form of spiritual discernment. The staff count the Doctors as just a voice on the phone yelling endlessly so they don't respect their authority. The nurses are circus clowns & they have destroyed this bed and breakfast. To one girl, I had to explain that she must first use an alcohol wipe before connecting my IV tubing. Infection control is lacking at times. Know that in order to survive here, I had to take my own vitals and use all of my own Rx's for even my blood pressure. This is a violation of the hospital's own policy. My Dr. never even asked or knew what I took. This isn't a real hospital or healthcare it's a building with beds in it. It feel just like a prison as your not allowed out of your room by your demon possessed "nurse". I ran out of bottled water & other personal necessities and no one would let me go to the hospitals store to buy more. I had blood running down my leg and couldn't get permission to go buy tampons. They never brought me any either. {Prisoners here have no rights} I never got more water to drink. Ice chips were impossible or hard to obtain with a 6 hour wait at best for anything. My IV was beeping then turned off for over 2 hours because paperwork is more important than patient care. There was no hot water for tea brought after the arrival snack tray. The shower on full hot serves only cold water as well, how Tijuana is that. Yelpers, just don't go see any doctor affiliated with Hospital Angelos. The arrogance in them makes them do crazy things unbecoming of a professional let alone a physician. Try Hospital Guadalajara instead. Go anywhere but here. When cosmetic surgeons operate here, their patients go to a recovery home they don't let them stay here. That should tell you everything! You'll all thank me later. I took a bullet for you and found there is no healing here. This is not Sanoviv! It's HELL with visible demonic activity. read more

I was at this hospital during June 2017. I signed on for one their eighteen day programs. I couldn't have been more disappointed. The cost of the program was $21,500. In addition, I paid for air travel for my wife and I, and food and hotel for some twenty days. Which amounted to another $6,500. Most of the treatment I received was very superficial. For the money I spent the treatment could have been much more intensive without costing the hospital a lot of money. Receiving a cancer diagnosis is cruel enough to have to deal with. However, spending time and money with Hospital Angeles only seems to add to the cruelty of the situation. read more

The doctors all have good bedside manner yet the staff is completely undisciplined and clearly not worried about repercussions. I had one doctor tell me to write because it is common. Would advise against going here for alternative cancer treatment as my sister was scammed out of $35,000 (not counting the cost to fly out there from New Jersey and hotels, etc) to treat her husband's pancreatic cancer and he died a month later. The doctors appeared to be well-meaning, but once my sister and brother-in-law left the hospital (and paid the bill) she could never reach the doctors for follow-up consultation. And when she tried to get reimbursement thru a non-profit group, she was unable to because the hospital would never call the group back to confirm their accreditation since they apparently are NOT accredited. read more
