Fun place on the lake. Good food. Low price. Great drinks! Bring your boat to the dock!

We ordered the Lumberjack and the Open Range. I have eaten a lot of pizza from many pizza joints and honestly the Lumberjack has one of the most delicious flavors I have ever tasted in terms of pizza. And the Open Range was also very pleasant. They were both very flavorful. And the crust was perfect. Sometimes with the wood fire pizza you get the outside crust crispy and the center crust soggy and that was not the case today. These pizzas were cooked perfectly. The pizzas are more of a personal pizza or a snack pizza. We got two for 2 adults and to small children and it was a perfect light lunch for our family. Our wait was times 30-40 minutes which I didn't think was bad for a fresh pizza and the brewery was busy. People were grabbing pizzas what seemed like every five minutes, so the pizza truck was definitely busy as well. Everyone here was grabbing pizzas. I am excited to try more of their menu options! Can't wait for them to be back!

Even the ones I find usually have few choices to eat from and the food isn't that good. That's why I absolutely loved my visit to block North. It's something that could've been located in my own neighborhood in Saint Paul. Starting with the beer, they have an excellent selection of styles. I chose the Saison, which is far less common in Minnesota breweries than I would like. It was excellent. For lunch, I chose the ratatouille and added shrimp. They were served with the vegetable of the day, green beans. The serving size was enormous which can also be inversely related to quality, but not here. The green beans were cooked and seasoned to perfection. The ratatouille was lovely with chunks of eggplant and zucchini plus a mushroom on the side. This meal was just delightful. I was by myself, so I sat out the bar. The bartender was friendly, but not overbearing. There were many other items on the menu I would've loved to have tried. I will definitely stop here again in the future.

I originally got 2 breakfast, a German and a Beef and Kraut. They were fantastic! I went back as we were leaving to head west and got some frozen ones to bring along our journey. I only wish they still took mail orders! Do yourself a favor and stop by this tiny gem. You will not be disappointed. The sweet lady with the tattoos was a doll....very friendly and helpful. There's only a handful of places from The UP (of Michigan) over to The Iron Range who not only make and serve delicious Pasties, but have them frozen or freezer ready to go. Please make Pasties Plus a stop on your way. This is a take out and take home place. I recall seeing one small table. So don't bring a group here to eat. Call ahead and order for your group, family or yourself. Then stop in. Take out. And enjoy. PS - I suggest cutting your hot Pastie in half. Partly to let the heat and savory smells out, but also so you can douse one side with ketchup while you taste the other side straight up.
