I am not the kind of person to write reviews, but we had the best experience at Isle/Lady Luck in Black Hawk last night so I had to share! I made an online reservation for a free room weeks ago and when we went to check in, I was told that the hotel was under construction and over booked, so the room that I booked at the isle was no longer available. I thought we were just going to be out of luck for the night but Steve and Jacque at the desk went above and beyond to get us a suite at Lady Luck, but it was only a king bed and there were 4 of us planning to stay in the room so we needed two beds. They not only gave us that suite but also another free room next to it with queen beds and four free buffets for our trouble. Steve and Jacque were awesome and I am going to keep going back and staying there when I go to Black Hawk because of them. read more

We went up to the Isle for some fun last night!! We had a lot of fun. We played and won a little and lost a little. Lol. We also earned free buffets. The food was absolutely delicious!! Thank you for a fun evening. read more

This place was really nice and a great little stop. I highly recommend that if you get the chance to visit this casino you really should. This place is full of racist judgemental people. I've spent thousands of dollars here and lost my i.d. in their Establishment. When I went to get a new card I had a picture of my Id, my debit card and papers with my address on it but the older women and manager refused it as proof of my identity even though I saw someone else get a card with less information! I feel like they discriminate me due to being Hispanic and have tattoos. Don't go here unless you're ok with being treated like trash by the employees read more

I go to Black Hawk annually and always stay at the Isle. This time my husband and I ventured from our comfort zone and decided to play at the Black Jack tables. I was new to the game and the fast pace of the open table. The dealers were super helpful in explaining the game and teaching me the ins and outs of playing. Eventually my husband and I became very comfortable at the tables. Great staff! read more

Staying in the hotel. We were upgraded to a suite!!! Beds are nice rooms smell great. Bath tub is dreamy! I love the look of this casino bright and festive. I would recommend staying here for anyone wanting a Vegas in the mountains experience. read more

On February 7, a group of friends and I went to the Isle to play some crapsless craps. The four of us in our group bought in for varying amounts between $100-400 and started playing the posted table minimum of $5.00 per bet. A few rolls in in the middle of a shooter's roll that we all had been playing in, the craps dealer looked at one of the people in our group and informed him that the bets he was attempting to make were invalid as the table minimum was $10 per bet. All of my group looked at the posted sign and pointed out that the posted minimum was $5. The dealer looked at the sign and said the limit was $10 and been so for a few shooters. We pointed out that we had been playing $5 bets and they were honored until he stopped us, additionally we asked why the sign had not been changed. We were directed to a pit boss who looked at the dealer and said, if you can get through the reports I'll change the sign, sorry guys we won't honor your bets. At that moment I stepped away from the table and went to Twitter, sending a tweet reading "@IsleCasinoBH posting 5 fir a 10 dollar game is dirty pool. I thought better of you. #baitandswitchmaybe." Two days later, I got Isle Casino Hotel BH @IsleCasinoBH Feb 9 Hi, give us a call at 303-998-7740 or email us at Kee.Hung@ISLECORP.COM to discuss. I followed the directions sending an email and following up with a phone call with no response. I decided I would let some time pass to get return correspondence. Almost two months passed and on April 5, I contacted the Isle's corporate website and told my story again. Again my complaint was met by an email from Mr. Hung. This time promising contact by the end of the week. I was contacted on April 10 8:51 pm and Mr. Hung left a message. I returned the call later that night. I spoke with a gentleman who identified himself as Mr. Hung and was asked if I reported the incident to a pit boss or higher official that night. I let him know the time and location in the casino and informed him that until he told me the process I didn't know who to contact beyond a pit boss. He told me that night that there was nothing that could be done and that it was the practice of the casino to change signs when they got around to it and bets and players would not be grandfathered in. He also offered to let me talk to a M.O.C that night. I accepted the transfer offer and was directed to a manager named, Damon. I went through the story with Damon and he asked me for my player's club account number, when I could not provide it immediately, he asked for my birth date and address. I provided this information so he could look up my account. At that time he told me that I had been in the casino since this incident and should have reported my issue when I played at the Isle the next time. He also asked me what I wanted him to do. I informed him that I have been involved in a complaint process and that Kee Hung transferred the call to him. Damon told me that Kee was his boss and he could not do anything to override a decision made by Kee. I told Damon that if that was the case thanks for his time and asked him to let Kee know that avoidance and delay were not good customer service strategies and that I would be contacting the Division about the deceptive practices and the Isle corporate offices again about the service. At this point, I hung up the phone. About two minutes later I got a phone call from a different person claiming to be Kee Hung. When I informed this person that I was on the phone with him a few minutes earlier, he told me he had not spoken to me and offered to meet with me. I was told that he would be available April 18 for lunch. I informed him I was a passenger in a car and the conversations of that night were heard by one of the original group I was with and I would have to check my schedule to confirm. When I tried to confirm the meeting with Mr. Hung, I was informed via email that he would be unavailable on the agreed upon date I have had no contact with the Isle since. Due to the contact with the casino manager, Damon I am fairly certain that my account has been flagged. These guys have very little clue what customer service means, and if you have the chance to meet with someone in person, you better ask for some ID so you know who your speaking with. read more

Fun place to visit and good place to see.. But i think the staff over all could be over all a bit nicer.. From walking in and being greated by security "rude" to even the cash out registers at customer service "rude".. And with all that the least place i encountered a frown was at the buffet ... Great customer service at the enterance and even from the cooks.. And the food wasn't bad, theres a good selection to choose from but if your a vegetarian and well trained you'll find something.. Over all a good but not great experience and I will most likely solely recommend as a place to see but not stay.. read more

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!!!!!!! This hotel was plain terrible. First of all, the rooms are extremely hot because all the ventilation in the rooms does not work, nor does the air conditioning! The hotel staff is very rude, the rooms have a strange fish smell that seems to come and go, the bed had a huge hump in the middle, the decor is dated and worn. Oh, and the first sign you will see when walking the hallway to your room says "please don't mind our dust." The staff was unwilling to help with any reasonable accommodation. When checking out there was no manager on duty (as I asked to speak with one, because of the horrible stay we had) so I left my number for a manager to call me when they arrived, but never got a call. Just plain horrible and badly managed. When going to Blackhawk I will not stay anywhere other than the Ameristar from now on... Consider yourself warned!!! read more

My husband and I frequently stay at the Isle. The slots are not loose but that's not what we go. We enjoy the atmosphere. I would recommend waitresses visit the folks at the slots more often. Although I'm not a drinker, I've heard several patrons complain. read more

This used to be my favorite buffet but no any more. Why? The wait staff. My husband and I never once had a waitress or waiter come to our table. In order to get something to drink we flagged down a host. Who really treated us like it was beneath her to at least give us drinks. Then the waitress for our table blantly ignored us. Heaven help anyone who gets the older lady with the red hair. Sorry Isle I will eat at Monarch from now on all because of the low level standard for the help. read more

The staff was very friendly and the service was absolutely outstanding. After gambling for a little of an hour I managed to walk away with a small profit. Then we decided to give the buffet a try. The buffet was 29.99 a person which I though was semi expensive. However all the food was absolutely outstanding. We mentioned to our waitress that the crab legs on the bar were cold. Low and behold she comes to our table only 10 minutes later with a giant plate full of steaming hot crab legs. Really the only down side was driving back down the mountain completely stuffed. Don't waste your time playing here! I was playing a machine for 4 hours only to be kicked off and have it restarted at 4 in the morning! I usually play at Ameristar but thought I'd give the isle a chance with the new upgrades! Not worth it at all, horrible customer service and definitely not accommodating! Went on Labor Day weekend for my birthday. The buffet line was LONG but went rather quickly. The crab legs were huge. They serve pho. Everything else was normal buffet type and tasting food. Gambled and drank until 430am. We stayed the night and the rooms were not bad, beds were actually quite comfortable. There is a big jacuzzi tub in the bathroom. The buffet and the rooms were free so I can't complain. read more

I'm only reviewing the hotel, not the casino. Didn't go into the casino. After hanging out at the other casinos, I decided to check in around 6p. I notice the lobby had a funky smell. I hoped the whole hotel didn't smell like that. Then, for the first time in my life, I was charge $50 for "incidentals". This is a fee they take from your bank account and put it back "in 3-10 days!" Put me in a sour mood for a while. The room was okay. No smell, luckily. Bed was fine, except a little indented on the side I was sleeping on. Based on their sneaky $50 charge, I'll find a different place to stay next time. read more

Super disappointed, the one weekend my husband and I have to ourselves, we spent the night at the Isle Casino hotel and what a waste of money! Paid more for a jetted tub suite. The tub had peeling paint all around it and on the floor. The light above the tub didn't work, half the jets in the tub didn't work. The lights and clock next to the bed were all unplugged. A/C barely worked so we were sweating all night. Fridge barely kept my drink somewhat cool overnight. When I went looking for a manager I was told I would have to go to another casino to find one. Left a message with the front desk young man who said he couldn't do anything for me. Called after a couple days and got a manager who gave me attitude said he would look into it and never called back. I'll stay at a flea infested Motel 8 before I stay here again and I will never gamble here again other. Stay somewhere.....anywhere else! read more

We had a girls night and so wanted a fancy dinner. Made reservations at Farradays because my friend said in the past it was wonderful. Not anymore. First off, the restaurant was really dusty and felt gross. Then, they tried to seat us in an obnoxious table by the kitchen when the restaurant was pretty much empty (went on a Thursday night). We finally sit down and order. I asked for the French onion soup to start out with. I got it and it was sludgy and tasted burnt and salty. I told the server and she said "yes, it's been sitting there a while, I'll go taste it and let you know what I think." Umm...okay. She comes back and said "yes, it was pretty bad. I had them freshen up the pot for the rest of the customers tonight". Didn't offer to bring me a freshened up cup, or take it off my bill, but reassured me the strangers that came in after me would not have old, gross soup. It took over an hour to start getting our food (steak was delicious, but everything else was gross), and we were there for 2 hours. Almost empty restaurant. Bill was $250 for the 3 of us, and we waited so long to get our food that we weren't even really hungry anymore so most of our steak went to waste. Wish I would have saved my money and gone to the Ameristar buffet! read more

The best part is NO SMOKING, except out side! We love to go to the casino but as previous smokers, we hate going because of the smoke. Not the issue here. We came up from Texas and truly enjoyed our visit. We will definitely be back to play crops again! read more

This used to be my favorite casino, but they have gone downhill quickly. Buffet has become subpar not worth the $34.00 per person price. They used to have a great players club rewards system to earn credits toward the buffet. I recently went up with 10 friends for a birthday. We played 5 hours of machines, poker and blackjack. We each accumulated a total of 27 cents toward the buffet. So at that rate you would have to play for 125 hours to earn a buffet. I went to customer service to ask what was wrong and they told me they got a new gm who changed their rewards system and the rewards we were used to have been taken away. About half of our group decided the $34 price tag was too much and left to for another casino. We had already waited in line so some of us went in anyway, but the half of us that stayed and ate soon regretted it. The prime rib was fatty and tough. The crab was cold and very average. Back to gaming... The roulette machine we were playing on kept malfunctioning and shutting down after you placed your bet. Several people playing kept trying to call an attendant but one never showed up to help. We waited over an hour for a seat at their poker tables because they said they didn't have enough dealers. To finish it off we had breakfast there and found a very long black hair in the biscuits & gravy. Anyway this was my last visit here. Too many problems... I am embarrassed because it was my idea to go to the Isle and it let us down in so many ways. I will never go back!!! That was more than enough to be my last visit. read more

ABSOLUTELY AWFUL! I completely regret ever stepping foot in to this cesspool! Not because I lost, actually quite the opposite, we left $100 up; this place was just so foul and uninviting, that our winnings were tainted! Aside from one dealer and a bartender, the staff was rude, unapproachable and unprofessional. The floors and bathrooms were disgusting! Machines kept shutting down! I would have thought that as an entertainment venue in a tourist town, the owners or management of this establishment would want their guests to have an enjoyable time; well, mark missed! I will speak ill (but honestly) of this place and warn everyone I know against wasting their time or money on such unsatisfactory effort. We stayed at the Isle hotel and had a jacuzzi room. The room layout was great but the room smelled like a smoking room when we reserved a non- smoking room. Also, the room was too warm and we tried adjusting the air system in the room and all that came Out was warm air. They shut the air conditioning off in oct so no hope there. Otherwise a decent stay. Farradays was fantastic. Get the beef medallions oscar! You will love it. read more

This is the absolutely the worse hotel I have ever stayed at. Had reservations for a Deluxe double queen bed room for 3 adult people, apparently that doesn't exist, we we were crowded into a small so called Luxury room that didn't even have proper seating, not even close to photo on-line. The fridge didn't work, had to get our own towels, coffee, water, cups, t-paper, facial tissues, & trash bags. The shower nozzle comes off, electrical outlets didn't work properly. When I called the hotel desk to ask about the room size he said he would talk to the manager about getting us a larger room, I never spoke to him after that. We stayed a total of 4 days. This hotel deserves a less than one star review, but wait a minute can't do that either. The hotel desk clerks were not very people friendly and acted as if you were not even there. stayed 4 nights and asked for room service 2 diffrent times and not once did someome come in 4 days to bring fresh towels, take out garbage, clean bring soap, yet stayed 4 nights and after asking front desk and room service nothing. also there was a dog a big one in the cafe on tye seats and on the table!! sorry that isent good the dog was on the table no worker said a thing the people and dog left table wasent wiped dowm and people who later came sat there. a pet dont belong on a public restraunt table. and if staying be prepared for no fresh towels, soap and them ignoring your request!! read more

I loving playing here, but just have a hard time with there being no place in Black Hawk where a Breast Feeding mother can pump in privacy. After spending 40 minutes looking for somewhere to pump with the help of the hotel staff I was informed that there was a Lactation room, but come to find out it was for employees only. I hope this is something that you can fix because until then myself and my family will no longer be heading up to this casino or any other. Which is a shame since all of my family loves to gamble. Please help making this easier on breast feeding mothers we deserve to have a good time out and to have somewhere to pump takes a lot of stress off of us. read more

Not my favorite casino in town, but not bad. The decor is cheesy and could use updating. Suggestion: The casinos and the city of Black Hawk should get together and form a city-wide ID check/wristband. It's beyond annoying to get stopped at every door and to walk around with 6 or 7 wristbands on. Even the attached casinos ID separately! Stopped here the second night of our trip. The parking was free and easy to access. I'm a table gamer so I looked for single deck black jack and was told they only have 6 deck. Rude staff! I Asked a pit boss a question about a free room and the reward point system. He gave me a snotty look and says I don't know what you are talking about. Instead of being helpful and referring me to someone else he just stood there with a dumb snotty look on his face. We will never stay here ever again! We just spoke to Lynn (ambassador hostage) she was so amazing!!! She listened to our concerns and the way we were treated. She also gave us 2 free rooms, which we did not even expect. I usually love the isle of Capri casino! I've been going there for 15 years they have great machines, easy to park, nice people and usually play a great mix of music. Well that all changed on Saturday Jan 9th! I was there from noon until 5pm and the entire time they played the loudest most annoying Country music! Every single song was back country, gun touting, achy breaky , whiny, crying country crap. After 2 hours, clearly noticing that was all they were playing I asked an employee what was going on. He said " I know everyone is complaining but I'm not the DJ and the DJ likes country music." I am fine with diversifying and hearing a country song amidst their normal fabulous playlist of rock and pop but all day country is a big mistake as it is actually offensive to many people! I had to leave early as I felt sick from the ear assault. I can't help but ask myself what message is the isle of Capri trying to send . They only cater to country loving people? Big mistake in this age if diversity. Will never go there again if this is all they will play! read more

I'll start with the good: our room was clean and a decent size. The casino was fun and the dealers we had were mostly great. The customer service at the hotel was terrible though. I called a day prior to check-in to ask that a refrigerator be in our room when we arrive, as I'm breastfeeding/pumping and need to store milk. The guy (Jeff) that answered the phone did so by saying "Hello?" as if this were his personal phone line, no "Thank you for calling the Isle, this is.." He went on to tell me he'll note our file about the refrigerator. Because I've worked the front desk at a hotel before I know this is useless because it won't again be seen until we check-in. I asked to speak to a manager and he told me there was no point, this was the best they would do. Low and behold at check-in, I have to ask again for this damn refrigerator and the woman checking us in says "for what? Insulin?" As if it's any of her business! Not to mention they are pumping people through the line so fast they don't even stop for pleasantries like "hi/welcome/how are you?" She says she'll call housekeeping to see if they have one. That was the last time I asked and as you may have guessed one never showed up. I kept my milk on ice, and had to constantly change it out, which was pretty inconvenient. For the price and lack of give-a-shit from the employees, you can do way better for a hotel in Black Hawk. read more

From Texas and we frequent the Louisiana Isle location. The Louisiana location I've never had an issue with this review is strictly on the blackhawk location. Pros: clean play floor, lots of slots and great buffet! huge crab legs! Amazing! Cons: staff at customer service desk was SUPER RUDE. I walked up with my husband to get a players card. Was told I had to get back on line because they only take care of one person at a time. Ok I'll do it. Then I waited additional 15 mins and for a different clerk. Thinking ok the other man was having a rough day.... Nope! Second clerk has worse! She tried to scorn me for getting a card. I explained I was from Texas and didn't travel with my card.then she started questioning different dates I had been to Isle casinos. This goes on for 10-15 mins, my husband is waiting on me now 25-30 mins I assume the lady figured out she was being inappropriate and tried to lighten the conversation. First impressions mean everything. read more

Be careful when booking reservations here...they pull the rug out from under you...even when you book the hotel room with a credit card. Piss poor customer service! Showed up for our wedding night stay (prior to our real fun trip) arriving at 9:30 pm, 30 minutes prior to 10PM...when it was told to us we had to be checked in by! They still gave our room away!!!!! WTF???!!! To be fair....They did comp our room and meals, but the room they placed us in sucked big time,old outdated, and NO JACUZZI!!! AND ** WE ** RESERVED**** the room with the Jacuzzi!!! I've been extremely lucky at the Isle and have enjoyed my frequent visits. Today I attempted to use one of my room offers. Called the toll free number and gave them the necessary information but I was "lost" in their system. No problem. They transferred me to Scott Campbell at the actual Black Hawk location. After more than 15 minutes on hold and in conversation he found that my card was not used since Dec of 2014. I've actually won jackpots since that time but they have nothing in the system for me. I know it's a mistake but I'm unsure if it's important enough to pursue. I think I will just enjoy the other casinos in the area that don't screw up the information. Scott did offer the suggestion that perhaps a wrong number was recorded at a previous visit. Anyone else have this situation? read more

Stayed at Isle of Capri last night, and the Casino experience was the absolute worst of any I have ever encountered. All of the machines I tried to play by the Cashier had to be cashed out by a service technician after a long wait. If the machine did spit out your ticket, it would not work in any of the other machines. I spent most of my playing time standing in line at the cashier's office. Many of the machines were 'out of service', and this was before 10:00pm. The room was way overpriced at $219, and overall it was a horrible choice for a place to stay and play in Blackhawk. read more

My wife and I along with some friends went down to the Isle of Capri for a change of pace. WE played the slots for a while and then became hungry so we headed for the buffet. We paid our $38.00 for two and proceeded to the massive buffet, salads to King Crab, all ya can eat. Unfortunately, the buffet food looked like it had been standing there a considerable while, it wasn't even warm, it all had a pretty unappealing look and presentation to it. Much of the food lacked freshness. I found myself searching out those menu items I could least expect to make me sick, and ate only those items. Sort of a sad tale to hear but there's no comparison.
