My doctor had sent over the referral and when I was called to make the appointment, the person at SDMI made it sound like he had no idea why I was coming. Would not make the appointment because I didn't know the technical term for the procedure. I ended up having to call back the next day, with new knowledge but also not needing it because this person just used my referral to make the appointment. Other than that, this procedure was great. A person called me to let me know what to expect and to suggest bringing a driver. That same person was working when I came in and explained everything and answered all of my questions. Overall, great professionalism and a very easy procedure. I liked coming in (which made up for the terrible phone call earlier.)

The desert landscaping is cute and well-maintained! Inside, the building is spacious, clean, plus staff is friendly, and always willing to help. Most recently, I had a CT scan with dye and this was my first. The CT scan dye is different than an MRI with dye, so FYI. Part of the prep was to drink lots and lots of water starting an hour before the procedure and then again more water afterwards, including bringing a water bottle with me. Since I was wearing stretchy clothes, I could keep them on and only needed to take off any metal, including my bra. There are numerous lockers in the imaging waiting room, that I could lock away my bra and water bottle, then take the key with me. I always take my purse/valuables into the imaging room. Once in the room, I signed some paperwork, and the attendant asked if I had allergies and on rare occasions, a person could be allergic to the iodine dye used on the CT scan. She administered an IV on my selected arm (right) and when it was time, ran a little contrast into my vein to test and all was good (if there was a reaction, an itchy feeling in my throat could come up). When the full contrast is injected, I experienced a warm feeling all over. It faded within a minute or two, and then I just felt myself again. The CT machine is a donut vs an MRI tunnel. The CT machine is very fast; the whole procedure took about 15 minutes. There is a computer voice that talks and tells me what to do as the table gets pulled in and out of the donut. "Breathe in and hold it", then release. I had to do this multiple times. Also, the attendant guided me to put my arms above my head before everything started. I had a headrest and a leg rest. It was very comfortable.

Instead of issuing it their billing company MSN Healthcare Solutions actively attempted to collect an additional $262.35 I did not owe -- while simultaneously holding my money. My insurance company had to intervene four separate times over seven months to resolve this. Each time a refund deadline approached Pueblo submitted a new corrected claim deliberately resetting the clock. One claim was denied due to their own filing error. They ultimately reduced my refund through improper billing code unbundling. When I filed a BBB complaint their response repeatedly characterized this as a simple premature billing statement -- a dishonest minimization of a deliberate pattern of delay and predatory collection practices. They never took accountability. Know your rights as a patient. Verify every claim with your insurance company. Do not pay anything without confirming with your insurer first. What they did to me they are likely doing to others who don't know to fight back.

Coming back in for a second appt I was informed of the "new balance" but they couldn't take the payment at that time. So for two weeks in between breaks at work I attempted to pay my balance online and couldn't ever get through to anyone. So I finally had to take the time to drive down to the actual facility to pay this mysterious new balance and ended up having to wait 40 minutes in the lobby because they had to put me in a queue with patients who are waiting for actual exams so I could give them money?! This is a garbage place and I would recommend going anywhere but there. EDIT: I was never put in to the queue. I had to get up and explain to someone else what I was doing there and she took the payment. You suck, Desert Radiology.

My primary care provider couldn't do same day bloodwork at their office because I had already eaten beforehand, so they ordered tests and I was advised to fast for 10 hours. Alongside this vitamin D recheck, I also received a lipid panel. I wanted to get in first thing in the morning so I could fast overnight, but all early morning times were booked up over several weeks. Normally I visit the Quest on Mountain Vista, but then I learned that this Quest is across the street from my boot camp gym and I decided to book my appointment in the early morning right after getting my workout in. Quest on Horizon Ridge and Carnegie is located way in the back of the parking lot. Note that they do not have a front office receptionist, just a check-in screen. For a quick check-in, scan your driver's license and insurance card at this screen. The waiting room is a little tiny with about eight or so chairs total, however. If it's busy, you can choose to leave and come back 10 minutes prior to the start of your appointment. Right after I got myself checked in, I was called back about 15 minutes before my scheduled appointment time. Talk about speedy right there. The phlebotomist I saw was extremely nice and helpful, plus the big window they had in the room she was in made my procedure easy and comfortable. It took longer than I was used to because multiple tests were being done on me, requiring multiple test tubes. Towards the end, I did start feeling squeamish because my blood started making these weird squishing noises as it was being loaded into one of the test tubes. And before you know it, my procedure was finished and I was sent on my way. I was very satisfied that I've officially decided to make the switch from Mountain Vista to Horizon Ridge. They were very fast and very friendly.

Hello Yelp Friends!…read more I just called to schedule my annual mammogram and a breast US. The gal I spoke with was Margaret, she said I could call her Marga. She was very pleasant. I explained that I was notified they received my orders and I needed to schedule an appt for July. She explained that my two tests would need to be scheduled back to back and that the schedule was full for July. I explained that I was just starting a new job and my insurance will be changing and I don't have my new insurance info yet. She was very reassuring and said that I could call back just as soon as I have the info and ask for her and she will help me get scheduled. My Dr. order is good for a year so there should not be a gap in my care. I was relieved to hear that and pleased she was so helpful. I feel that she provided excellent customer service and I will definitely ask for her when I call back to schedule my appt. I highly recommend SDMI. You're done! Easy peezy, lemon squeezey! It's super clean, which is so great. The staff are very efficient, knowledgeable and friendly. They make the experience seem effortless, and I really appreciated that. Results also come back quickly. Most visits, I already had results back within 2-3 days. After two years at Quest, every visit usually involved multiple needle sticks, and my veins would often stop cooperating before all the tubes were collected, meaning they had to start over somewhere else. My experience at LabCorp has been the complete opposite. The check-in process is incredibly convenient. You can check in from your phone or use the kiosk in the lobby. My first appointment started right on time. The second was slightly delayed because my doctor gave me a Quest lab order instead so the delay was on my end. I also really prefer LabCorp's front desk setup. Having someone available to answer questions or help with check-in makes the whole process much smoother. At Quest, you often have to wait until a phlebotomist comes out to call the next patient before you can ask for assistance if something goes wrong with the kiosk or your appointment. At LabCorp, there's always someone at the front desk to help, which makes a big difference. The phlebotomists have been outstanding. During my first visit, she found my vein on the first attempt and collected all eight vials without any issues. On my second visit, I had a different phlebotomist who was just as impressive. She took her time feeling for the vein and made sure she was confident about the placement before inserting the needle. Once again, she got all five vials on the first stick with no problems. The only suggestion I have is that if you're bringing a paper lab order from another lab, such as Quest, arrive a little early. They have to recreate the order in their own system by looking up each individual test, so that process delayed my second appointment a bit. Once that was finished, everything moved smoothly. Overall, I've been extremely impressed. The lobby is spacious and very clean, there have been far fewer people waiting than I was used to at Quest, and I love that you can even wait in your car until it's your turn if you prefer. As someone who has always dreaded getting blood work because of difficult veins, LabCorp has made the experience surprisingly easy. Based on my experiences so far, I would absolutely recommend them.
