Desert Radiology is a shitshow. On initial MRI/X-Ray I was supposedly undercharged after I'd paid my balance in full at the time of the appt. Coming back in for a second appt I was informed of the "new balance" but they couldn't take the payment at that time. So for two weeks in between breaks at work I attempted to pay my balance online and couldn't ever get through to anyone. So I finally had to take the time to drive down to the actual facility to pay this mysterious new balance and ended up having to wait 40 minutes in the lobby because they had to put me in a queue with patients who are waiting for actual exams so I could give them money?! This is a garbage place and I would recommend going anywhere but there. EDIT: I was never put in to the queue. I had to get up and explain to someone else what I was doing there and she took the payment. You suck, Desert Radiology. read more

Needed a routine chest x-ray. Called Desert Radiology, which is close to my home, and found out no appointment is needed. For routine chest x-rays, they just take walk ins. The clerk who checked me in did a little extra so that I wouldn't have to sit in the waiting room too long. With two minutes of giving the check in info, I was called back for my x-ray. The technician was very professional. Arrival to leaving in under 15 minutes. Excellent!!! read more

Cue the slow motion montage... we had a 11:30 appointment. For an MRI and an X-ray for a family member. We literally sat an hour after our appointment time until we were called back. Anything wait longer than a half hour in the morning is just poor internal scheduling. The initial check in people weren't much help but the people in back seemed nice. Do not go to desert radiology. They are private equity owned and will do everything possible to keep any overcharge, On July 1 2025 they overcharged me $1000 on a nuclear medicine test. When I received another bill, I checked my EOB and discovered the overcharge. When I called, the CSR said oh! You are paid in full at which time I told him no, you overcharged me. They did a few minutes of review, acknowledged it and said refund would be 30-45 days. 45 days pass and no refund, I called again and was told they sent a check Sept 15 and I asked what was the check number. They then acknowledged they did not send a check and processing began on Sept 15, it would be another 15 days. Here we are, nearly end of October and still no refund. This operation is awful and I'm now forced to complain to the NV Division of Insurance, my insurance company, and hopefully get my bank to reverse the debit card charge, Go to Steinberg. Call center is not right! Whomever manages this department needs to know customer service can't find referrals. I had a person call me back regarding rescheduling and saw my two referrals that needed appointments for. Sent me to call center and they couldn't find it. Last week I walked the referral in and receptionist downloaded it. Calling the call center is so difficult, it takes so long to make an appointment as they ask you too many questions and constantly on hold so they can find whatever they need! You hear people talking in the back ground, it's not fun at all! The office won't make appointments so I'm about to go so where else. Normally for X-rays it's pretty quick but for mammograms they've been running way behind. It's very cold inside so bring a sweater. Once you get called back everything is a little quicker. The xray techs are kind and good at explaining everything. Just plan for a lot of time in case they're way behind or super busy. read more

Primary surgeon referred me, said desert radiology would call me the next day. 2 days passed, no call so I attempted to call desert radiology myself. I Spent a half hour on hold before giving up. Called back later that day and spent another 25 minutes on hold before being connected to a call center in india where they couldn't understand a word I was saying, confirm any of my information, or even verify availability of MRIs. If this is how they treat people out of the gate, it's a 100% guarantee they do not care about their patients in any way. DO NOT GO HERE, and do not trust loved ones to go here. read more

I too have been experiencing a similar situation as Gil S. It is impossible to speak with anyone who has any authority in Billing. I too am a previous health care professional and would never have treated my patients in such an unprofessional manner. As a 30-year resident of the Las Vegas community I can honestly say I have never received such poor service from any type of health care entity. The service provided in the offices was outstanding, but the billing department, or lack thereof is deplorable. Just wow! Must be new management and short staff that has really took Desert Radiology down the tubes. Several years ago, I used to feel like they had good customer service, but now two others in my family and I have all had bad experiences in the past couple months. My experience in particular was this... I made an appointment for an MRI for my shoulder. You can no longer make an appointment on their web site. Instead, I had to call and wait for 30 minutes for someone to pickup. Because... when I left a message for a callback, no one called for 3 days. When someone picked up, it was a 4 week wait to be scheduled for ANY location. I showed early on the day of my appointment and they could not find my appointment. They spelled my 5 letter last name wrong, had no email on file, and it appears my phone number was wrong because I received no texts, calls, or emails. When they found my appointment, it was scheduled 3 days later. Apparently, someone rescheduled and never contacted me. When I showed up again on my appointment date, my name was still wrong. Then, it took 10 days for the results to be read and communicated to my doctor. Next, my doctor had issues locating my results, because no one at desert radiology fixed my name and information. After my doctors appointment, I was being sent back to Desert Radiology for a fluoroscopy (injection under xray). Another 2+ week wait. All that time they had the appointment made with the doctors order and the day before, just before the COB, I get a call saying they cannot do the procedure and they cannot get in touch with my doctor. I call BS, because as soon as I got off the phone with them I called my doctor and they answer immediately and I spoke to the nurse. She told me she just received a call, but she couldn't get back through to desert radiology. No surprise there because it takes an eternity for anyone to answer the phone at desert radiology. And to finalize my experience, they wanted to know if there was somewhere else desert radiology could do the injection. Seriously? If the problem is in my AC joint, then how is injecting a steroid shot elsewhere going to fix the issue with my AC joint. My suggestion for Desert Radiology, get your S#!T together! Don't schedule things you can't do, get some more people on the phones, and stop being soo cheap with your staffing. I will note the hard working people there are very pleasant, the technicians are pleasant and super professional. But, accuracy of data entry could be improved. Management sucks because they need to hire more people to improve the customer experience. I suppose the excuse is company profits. read more

Scheduling to get an appointment is ridiculous. Ironically the recoded message says they have updated their system to better serve you. HA 54 minutes on hold, and then I swear the individual asking questions was not listening to anything I said. I don't know how many times I had to confirm the name of my doctor, but then she would ask again, and this is your doctor, correct? She had the medical orders, she confirmed that early on in the 10-minute conversation. I don't know what kind of script they have in front of them but it's ridiculous. Where do I begin to express my frustration with Desert Radiology on Horizon and Coronado? First my Neuro order and MRI and sent a referral to DR. I called them and spoke with a real person and made an appt. for 9:40 on 7/29/25. I did my online paperwork as instructed, showed up 30 minutes early as instructed, checked in with the receptionist, she said someone will call you shortly and sat down, I then waited 45min. Finally I got up, asked when is someone going to call me, the lady said she will check, she then called me up and asked for my Id and ins. card. I waited again, she then called me and asked for my copay which was $342.00 (with my lousy ins.) which I paid part with a c. card and part cash. She then called me up again and said that my appt was that day, but at 9:40PM at night!! Long story short, I r/s with her, but they had nothing sooner than 30 days out!, I left my deposit thinking I will use it at next visit. Two weeks later, DR called and said they had to r/s my appt, because the tech was out that day and the next avail. day was another 30 days out! I since sch. an appt with Pueblo Imaging with a sooner date. Then came the challenge of getting my money back from DR!!!! It took much yelling and another 30 days to get the money paid on my c. card, the billing dept. is in the Philippines and they did not know anything!!!! I finally called the facility and asked for a supervisor who said she would process my refunds. I did finally get the money back on my c. card and am still waiting on the check to come in the mail for the cash I paid, had to call and yell at someone again to even get this done!! I am STILL waiting on the check now 2 months later!!! If I could give them zero stars I would! They have the nerve to post signs in the lobby to be kind to the staff, when they dropped the ball several times with me. I will never go there again!! Started having hip/leg pain so got a referral from my PCP for an x-ray. I've had ultrasounds at this Desert Radiology location and the results seemed to have come back fairly quickly. I had x-rays of my leg on Jan. 22, and they said 5-9 business days for results, which seems a ridiculous amount of time but ok. My leg started getting worse so I contacted the place where I was to go to speak with orthopedist and they got me in the next day and x-rayed me when I got there and had the results in a few minutes! As of February 6, I still haven't heard from this place. Unacceptable. I cringe because I need a chest x-ray for my upcoming hip replacement surgery, and I will need to get it at DR., as this is where my insurance is good at. I brought my mother in to get 3 x-rays of her spine on January 23rd, as of February 3rd they have only sent 1 back to the doctor, and that 1 took over a week. I called Desert Radiology a week after they were taken and was told oh the radiologist hasn't looked at them yet, normally takes 7-10 business days. Then her doctors office called them and they were told, we are backed up due to the holiday, it was a 1 day holiday. FYI.. After being told 7-10 business days, I called other Imaging places in town to ask their turn around on x-rays and was told 24-72 hours. read more

Repeatedly, there are issues with scheduling, whether they don't have, or more likely can't find, a referral....you can be in the phone for nearly an hour to try to book one procedure. Today, I'm told to get here at 8:30 AM for a 9:45 AM appointment. I arrive and they can't tell me whether the VA referral was received or how this is being billed. I proceeded to sit in the waiting room and literally watch every single person, there were 25 of us, disappear and be replaced with new people. I go up and say, 'I've been here for an hour, what's going on?' They pull me over and then say 'Oh yeah, we found the VA referral and we're going to bill it through them.' This is the opposite of what I've been told by scheduling and the greeter. I asked, 'why did I have to be here at 8:30 this morning?' They said, 'Oh that was a mistake, you're just supposed to be here 20 or 30 minutes ahead of time.' At that point, I'd been sitting here for 80 minutes waiting for this appointment. Get pulled back, tell them I have a shellfish allergy and that I have broken out when contrast with shellfish based preservative is used--they say they can't do the procedure. I clarify, 'I'm not allergic to iodine, just if you use a shellfish based contrast?' So now, I'm sitting here for another 20 mins waiting for someone to check my file. This place is completely disorganized, despite their clinicians, who usually competent and friendly. They don't make up for all the stress and chaos to actually get to them. I'm not sure what other radiology places are in town, but DR is crazy-making. read more

They should probably educated themselves on medical care or find a better paying job so they don't act miserable. Front desk ppl are so rude and the way they TALK to you these old patients is WILD! This is my local Desert Radiologist location. I have had Xrays and a Mammogram here. If you are heading in for a mammogram I would suggest comfy clothes that you can change quickly. You will go in a changing room and be provided with a cover that opens in the front. Then you will wait in a second waiting room until you are called. The actual mammogram takes about 20 minutes. This also depends on if you do 2D and/or 3D images. Scheduling Scheduling is done over the phone or in person. Xrays you can usually get an appointment within a few weeks, but mammograms are several months out. It would be nice if there was an online scheduling system. Wait time Wait time varies, but most of the time it's 45 minutes to an hour. I even had a morning appointment and there was a wait. This is the main reason for 4 stars because of how much time spent here. Checkin is a 2 step process. You submit your referral and then they call you up to verify insurance. It takes so long to get appointments it would be nice if we can upload insurance information online so they don't have to spend time verifying on the day of. Services All the technicians are very thorough and easy to talk to. After my mammogram I received a letter. I would really like to see emails be sent instead. The letter I received was not easy to understand and I had to call my doctor. I just need to know the action that needs to be taken. read more

My wife waited on hold for 2 hours to make an appointment. The woman who made her appointment did not understand her dr's orders and we had to have the dr's office call DR to clarify. After prepping for the ultrasound and getting here, my wife is told they can only do 1 ultrasound because the order is incorrect. Not sure why the girl who made the appointment could not tell us that. Now we're frantically calling her dr's office to try to get the order faxed over stat. Luckily her dr's office responded immediately and faxed over an order. They were able to complete the 2nd ultrasound but talk about unnecessary stress. While the ultrasound tech was not rude, she was extremely dry. In addition there's multiple elderly patients who have been waiting an hour for their records. read more
