However, my final experience here was awful. The hygienist got tons of floss stuck in my tooth, which has never happened to me before in all my years of dental care. It made me a little nervous. When I expressed my concern, she yelled at me to "just stay calm". She was clearly stressed and taking it out on me which was very unprofessional. She could have just calmly said, "don't worry, I got you". After my cleaning, I noticed that the issue of things getting stuck in that tooth was much worse, so I reached out to the doctor about it. She was very rude and dismissive And said we already talked about it and that she didn't feel comfortable answering my questions about foods to support overall dental health and that I could look it up myself. A day later, I received a letter in the mail saying that "due to a breakdown in doctor patient care, they would no longer be willing to be my dentist." I was absolutely shocked at this aggressive, melodramatic reaction to something so petty. I asked very normal and appropriate questions and behaved completely normally in the office. I can assure you that the "breakdown" was because of their lack of patient care, compassion, and social skills and not because of anything I said or did as a patient. I was extremely cooperative and asked very normal questions. I find this to be a really unethical move because they told me I needed additional dental care, yet, it is next to impossible to find a dentist that takes my insurance and it took me forever to get reestablisbed with this office.

Even recently, my 2 year old chipped his teeth and we got him in to Dr. Hasan pretty quickly. She eased our worry (the parents) with a calm and light hearted approach, to an easy-fix situation. One year later, I get a bill for over 900 dollars, well after my treatment was done.

My husband had not been to the dentist in 10 years and I convinced him to make an appointment and he now sees Dr. McGovern. He now goes every 6 months no problem, and his teeth are great. After exam was told it was probable it could be replaced. I was given a written estimate of 2000 for the new crown and another for 1000 for two other teeth to be repaired. I put 3000. Into my checking account for the charges. At the appointment on October 5th they did an exam and said I needed more extensive work and the price would be more like 6000. They offered a Cherry account to make payments. After the account was opened for a 3000 line of credit the estimate was enlarged to over 9000 for full treatment. I felt like I was dealing with a used car dealership. When checking out and asked to make an appointment for the work to be done I told the desk staff I did not know if I wanted to pursue treatment and said I would contact them. They scheduled an appointment when I said not to and I had to call to cancel. When I got home I saw they charged 750. to my credit card for the Cherry account. I texted them and said I opted out for treatment why was I charged? No response. I sent two emails and stated if they decided to charge me for the estimate please send me a invoice and reminded them I got no treatment. No response. I filed a complaint to Cherry account and they said they revolved the dispute Their resolution is to charge me another 962. That's a total of 1712.00 in charges for no treatment and only a estimate. I will obviously look into other avenues for a full refund as this seems to me to be suspect accounting if not outright fraud.

After a cursory exam, he recommended a scaling/root planing, which is a procedure done by the hygienist in that office. I had it done, but was disappointed in follow-up appointments that my gums continued to bleed. I recalled something my father (a periodontist) had told me: a scaling should only be done by a periodontist. So I started calling around, and found Dr. Kondrat, who does this procedure himself. Even though it was out of my way, I made an appointment. After a much more thorough exam, he recommended another scaling/root planing, which he performed himself. A month later, he had me back to check my new baseline. I was elated that ALL my trouble pockets had decreased to normal range.. and there was no bleeding. What an excellent outcome! I guess my dad was right: this procedure should not be done by a hygienist, only by a periodontist. Besides being painstakingly thorough, Dr. Kondrat is warm and amiable (like the rest of his staff), and the whole experience was a pleasure. Well worth the trip!!
