This is a busy coffee shop where you place your order at the counter, then take a seat - they bring your food to you, or call out your name. They serve a large variety of coffees and teas, etc. and many people show up just for the drinks. They also serve a decent breakfast, though the options are limited, as well as soup, salad, and sandwiches (though we were there for breakfast) Still, for a coffee shop breakfast where you order at the counter, $40 isn't cheap, which is what ours ran to. My Hope Mountain breakfast came with scrambled eggs which were good with a garnish, the sausage (apparently deep fried), the potatoes (cubes, also apparently deep fried) were OK but not great, marbled rye toast of the kind of bread you'd get in a grocery store - nothing special. You can choose bacon or sausage, kind of toast, and scrambled, or fried as you like -- so perfectly adequate, not a special breakfast out. My partner got bubble tea and the mega breakfast sandwich - essentially a bagel with omelette-like egg, tomato, cheese, and avocado. Both the tea and the sandwich were fine. But I do want to be clear -- this is a coffee house, not a sit-down restaurant. It is busy, and you kind of fend for yourself. Latte was large and beautiful, but I didn't like the flavor of the coffee very much. The service was quick and delivered to counter facing window and park. Nice place to relax, clean with various places to sit. However, there was no public restroom, which was 1/2 the reason I went. read more

First of all, no line! And some soft music playing. I got a large iced americano. It was decent. It's kinda unfair bc I'm comparing it to one I had in the states a couple days ago that had an insane amount of shots (5?!). The nice employee here said theirs has 2 shots. So overall a good experience and I didn't have to wait in a line of 12 people at the Blue Moose. Great Place! Clean, from the outside, to the inside, to the food. We both got the Hope Mountain Breakfast and were not disappointed. Well, we were a little disappointed that we saw the breakfast poutine too late, it looks delicious. The eggs were cooked exactly as we ordered them, the potatoes were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, the sausage and back were cooked perfectly and tastes delicious. read more

Nice new coffee shop. Bring your food and drinks to the table if you're dining in and are friendly in offering and asking if anything else is needed. Medium latte was great. Not pictured is a turkey breakfast sandwich which was, disappointing. One slice of lunchmeat turkey for a $12 sandwich was a bit out there but the quality of the eggs, bun and sauce made up for it. Would still recommend they add more turkey slices for such an expensive sandwich. read more

It's always a good idea to have those who take orders to be able to tell you what you're ordering. We had a question about an item the helper had no clue what it was. On a big menu that might be ok, this isn't a big menu here. I ordered the breakfast special. Eggs, bacon, potatoes, and toast. It was ok. The eggs were a bit overdone. Over medium should have runny yolk and cooked whites. These had almost completely cooked yolks. The potatoes seemed like a frozen coated products. The bacon was good. The toast was un buttered, which may be the norm in Canada, not sure being my first breakfast here. read more

I really like this cafe. The staff are sweeties, the decor is nice and it isn't crazily busy. - If you arrive when the croissants have just been taken out of the oven they are excellent. - I am not a coffee drinker, but my husband seemed happy with his brew. - We both really liked their salads at lunchtime too. Just an extra note, the only thing we were not impressed with is the grilled cheese sandwich. It is super buttery, but with very average cheese and cheap white bread. I've gotten only coffee here expecting it to be different every time. I usually get sweeter coffees, same with my friend who was with me at the time. We ordered the iced caramel and vanilla macchiatos. Due to us knowing that vanilla and caramel stuff is sweet. When we tried our coffees they were bitter, my caramel more so than my friends vanilla. And there was no flavour other than the taste of bitter coffee, we stirred the drinks too, no luck. So I was let down to say the least.... at least the carrot cake stuff is good- read more

This is a lovely little spot to stop for lunch. I had the chicken salad and my husband enjoyed a panini and poutine while our kids gobbled up the chicken strips and fries. The patio is lovely, and service was prompt and friendly. read more
