Fast, delicious and good quality burgers! I was first introduced to Hopdoddy Burger Bar several years ago and have ate here several times over the years. I have visited their newest location in Stafford twice and both times we received great service and our food was both delicious and extremely fresh. I love that this place cooks your food when it's ordered, no cold fries or soggy burger buns here. If you're not a burger fan HBB has a large menu with chicken & vegetarian options. I've tried several of their burgers, chicken tenders, brussel sprouts, regular fries, truffle parm fries & sweet potato fries, all were delicious and I'm yet to be disappointed by this place. Despite the food being so good, the service at HBB stands out. Everyone from the cashier to the food runners are friendly and welcoming. I am going to be honest: this burger is way overpriced. Pretty lackluster flavors. But I have to give credit where it's due: their ingredients taste super high quality and fresh. The service and ambiance is awesome. The brussel sprouts taste so charred they're bitter. For the price, would expect more flavor out of burgers. Mediocre fries. If you want a nice, fun spot for a lunch date or cool workplace lunch, and money is no concern, then this is your spot. I love burgers, especially burgers with mushrooms in it. Thus, I definitely had to order the Magic Shroom at Hopdoddy. I also got the Parmesan truffle crispy brussel leaves as my "side". The Parmesan truffle crispy brussel leaves were crispy and delicious. I wouldn't share this bowl as a "side" with others! My burger was delicious too! The ingredients were fresh. The patty was thick and cooked to perfection. I loved the goat cheese in my burger. I thought it was a good complement. I tried some of the traditional fries, which I thought was hard than crispy. I was craving burgers and found out there was a location in Stafford so decided to give it a try. I came on a weekday around the evening and there weren't many people there. There are a lot of sitting from table, booth, and bar. The staff are nice and friendly. I got two burgers which were a classic cheeseburger and a classic burger. They were both well made and tasted delicious though for the price they are relatively small. I also got shareable hand-cut fries which were an easy fav as they nicely seasoned and perfectly fried to a crisp. My wife had been wanting to go here for a while, so I gave in and we swung by. I'd been to another Hopdoddy before, so I kind of knew what to expect-- an upscale place with unique, dare I say "trendy" burgers, but ones that really don't live up to the price points. You order at the counter, take a seat, and they buzz you when your meal is ready. My wife and I each ordered the Magic Shroom burger, which was served with goat cheese and a pesto mayo. The burger was large, decently seasoned, and well-cooked, but I've had better Mushroom Swiss burgers at a half dozen other places around town. We also ordered the green chile queso fries. The fries were well cooked and decently seasoned, but the queso is what made them worthwhile. For the price point, I wouldn't order it again. With all of the upscale burger places that have come up around the Greater Houston Area, this place definitely stands out for being unique, but unfortunately, it's the third, maybe even fourth, best burger in the complex it's located in. read more

5 star burgers, fries and a decadently tasty shake. Burgers and fries and a shake were all very good. The Classic Farmhouse Deluxe came with Doddy mayo, lettuce, tomato and onion,tillamook cheddar cheese, bacon, a fried egg and crispy onions was amazing....and gone in short order. The Roosevelt burger was just as good, a bison patty with goat cheese, cherry and fig jam, crispy fried onions and arugula...our son had this and it disappeared faster than mine. We shared a large order of chipperbec fries, very good as well. An order of chicken tenders was enjoyed along with an apple juice. I enjoyed an overflowing boozy brown butter vanilla shake with kahlua. We'll be back for more goodies. read more

We came back for lunch on Labor Day and the place was about 1/3 full. Barely got parking this time around as Snooze next door was packed. The level of service was much better this time around. Although this is not a full service restaurant, the workers were asking if we needed anything and were just much more attentive. The food was good once again, although my bride's mushroom swiss was pretty much room temperature. However, my wagyu smash burger and our kids' chicken tenders were perfect. This second visit was much improved from the first time around. If you are looking for a delicious premium burger, definitely check this spot out. read more

This was more like a 3.5 kinda place. What I liked was that the tables were clean, the service was good, and the restaurant/bar itself was pretty. Most of the people who came were sitting outside by choice, which is weird to me, since we're talking Houston-area weather. The ideas of all the burgers are interesting. The ideas of the fries variations are interesting. However, when you taste everything, for instance, I had a burger called the Magic Shroom with goat cheese and basil pesto. In theory, this should be the best burger of my life. It just tasted okay. Not gross. Not amazing, okay. I had the fries with green chile queso. The fries were forgettable, and dipping them into the queso made them okay. And that's how the food is. Okay. It's not a nasty place, nor the best burger of your life. While I probably won't be running back anytime soon, I do like the fact that the service and cleaning were top-tier, so if a friend does want to come, I have no real objections, as okay food is still edible, just not my favorite. read more

It's been years since I've stepped foot inside a Hopdoddy, but their food is just as good as I remember. Their burgers and fries demonstrate that a widespread chain restaurant does not have to suck. I opted for the El Diablo since I was feeling something spicy. A bit on the smaller side, but it packed all the spice and savory flavor I was looking for. Their parmesan truffle fries stood out to me as well -- give them a shot. I also appreciate the pub decor over the walls. The other Hopdoddy locations probably have similar looking interiors, but it's nice having one here to break away from Stafford's somewhat monotonous establishments. Bonus points for the tables and floors looking spotless when my group stopped by. It's hard for me to determine the value I'm getting. The El Diablo comes in a rather small portion for $10 but hey, it tastes pretty good. The parmesan truffle fries cost a whopping $8.75 but can comfortably be shared amongst 2 or 3 people. I'll slap on the label of "reasonably priced", but maybe don't come here if you're off-the-walls hungry. read more

Staff is always super friendly. You can pretty much always find something within your budget. As far as burgers go I've had some amazing burgers, so this is just ok for me. But that's personal preference, I like thinner Patties with more crust. These are kinda thick and not as juicy as I'd like but the shakes and sides are so good and I've heard great things about the bowls. I definitely love that they have something for everyone. Although it's not my favorite burger spot it's definitely a place I'd go hang out and get a bite. Considering how busy they are they keep the place really clean. The servers were super nice and the place looked great. However, one of our burgers was literally raw, and the fries were horrendously seasoned to the point where it was inedible. I never complain about food to the restaurant, but this was the first time I did. The server was super nice about it and apologized, but when they brought the manager, she was extremely condescending, rude, and passive aggressive. She said things like "we season our food properly" and "we're a new location so we do things the right way" when I pointed out that none of the 6+ locations I've been to have made the fries like this. She then went on to say "next time just let us know you don't want your food seasoned" and then gave us two free burger coupons as if that would make up for her disgusting attitude. One star is only for the other workers and the other food we got (Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich and the Classic Burger). I have never been so disrespected by a restaurant manager before. read more

We took our dog to their dog friendly patio. Everyone was super nice. We were checked on by 3-4 different people regularly. That made the experience, honestly. Food and service was excellent. We had traditional burgers with mushrooms for one burger. Cooked Medium and delicious. Fries were ok. The mini Larry margarita was great and might order a big Larry next time! Our problem was with the dining room and restrooms. All the floors were slippery with either grease or condensation or both. Had the privilege today of tripping across this gem. I ordered the classic cheese burger and absolutely divine parmesan truffle fries. There are A LOT of fries. The burger was delicious with just a hint of pink ( just the way I like it). This is a juicy and a bit greasy burger. Perfect hangover burger IMO. The service was spot on , quick and friendly. Paid another visit at lunch time. Place was moderately busy for a Wednesday. sat at the bar met immediately by bar staff who proceeded to welcome me and take my drink order. We had a disappointing visit. First, there's a greeter at the door--but it seems unnecessary since guests seat themselves. Maybe it would be better to assign that person to keep the bathrooms clean. About the restrooms: if you're going to make them unisex, please keep them clean! As a woman, I don't want to smell the urinal and see a dirty toilet- no seat covers--There were no hooks for purses, which is inconvenient and unhygienic. I'm not a fan of shared bathrooms, especially when they're not well-maintained. On top of that, our table (Table 24) was under a vent that was leaking water. My kids got dripped on while we were eating. Service also left something to be desired. Our server took my son's plate before he was finished. And the bowl of French fries I got was noticeably small for the price. Overall, not a good experience. There are some easy fixes here: clean and maintain the bathrooms, fix the leak over Table 24, train servers not to clear plates too soon, and be more generous with portions. I hope management takes these things seriously. read more
