I went there 2 times and The bartender ( she said her name is Tink or Think) never smiles or says hi or thank you to me . She keeps having conversations with her friends at the bar outside while I m waiting for more than 5 min to make my order. I m really disappointed. Our waitress, if that's what you want to call her was Samantha. She had attitude as soon as we sat down. We ordered our drinks and thought she wasn't going to come back. When she did, again with attitude. After we ordered, she was gone for a long time, joking with coworkers. She finally brings us our COLD food. We ate it and was just wanting to get out of there. Food was really good nice and hot, the beer was nice and cold just about what you wish to see at hooters but I will say service wise the ladies up front were very nice telling us outdoor seating is open seating so first coming first serve was decently packed but had some open tables available was nice and clean. Food = Fabulous. Service = Horrible. First time dining at this location but we were headed to Clearwater beach and decided to stop in. This place was busy and every table packed. Definitely not social distancing here. Staff and guests required to wear masks. Greeted right when we entered and waited for a table to be cleaned off. First hostess said she'd have someone clean the booth but it wasn't until the second hostess asked if we were helped that she went and cleaned the table to seat us. Upon sitting we waited about 5 minutes before our server came over to even acknowledge us. She said she'd be by in a few to get our drink order. When she stopped by later we placed our order too. Ordered the Daytona style naked wings 20 pc for me and the hubs and a salad. My daughter got the naked hot Buffalo with tots. Never saw our waitress again until our food was delivered. We didn't even get the salad until the wings came out and typically that comes out first. She delivered the food, didn't check drinks for refills and forgot my daughter's tots. But given that she raced off we couldn't tell her. The few other tables that were near us that she was handling I could tell had the same slow service or lack there of. The other tables that had other waitresses were popping with getting food, getting refills and getting routine visits from their server. As she was flying by our table I had to wave frantically at her to get her to stop and tell her about the tots. She said oh yea, races off brings them nearly only minutes later and dumps them on the table. My hubs tells her that we need refills. Came here last night for dinner because I was craving some buffalo shrimp and their wings. It was wing Wednesday so they had a special for 10 boneless wings with fries or tots for $8. The buffalo shrimp is a little higher in price but so good! They offer it in 10 or 20. The boneless wings were really good and not all breading like some places. They have a lot of meat and were larger boneless wings. They have deals for $5 for wells drinks all day, every day. We also ordered two of their mini desserts which were $3 each. They were small but good for the price. I ordered the chocolate brownie and the Resees peanut butter. My favorite was the peanut butter and it was very rich and full of flavor! What happened? What happened to the hooters I know and love? For starters, the food was subpar at best. The hot chipotle bbq wings should have just been called "baby back bbq" cuz they were about as sweet as a spoonful of molasses. Food aside, let's talk about ambiance, perhaps the primordial concern of this establishment... nonexistent. I remember when papaw took me to hooters back in the day. An air of American heritage as you walked through those glorious doors. The women were eager to greet you with their bouncy racks and pearly white smiles. Now? Forget about it. What can I say, the service was awful. The bartender was really good at avoiding looking at you, avoiding you and speaking to you. The wings weren't very good at all. I was going to send them back but the bartender was busy ignoring me. There were 6 people at the bar. The worst part of it was the smell. It smelled like raw sewage at the bar. Yes, it's the original Hooters location, opened in 1983. They're still serving up wings, shrimp, oysters and beer, but have since added to the menu to include wraps and even little dessert bites. Our waitress, Momma J., who is expecting a little one, along with Assistant Manager, Pat, were on point in making sure the oysters, shrimp, curley fries and wings were exactly to our liking. I was craving something other than beer, so I got a Red Sangria. Icy-cold and refreshing, it was just what the doctor ordered. My Daytona-style Sweet-Thai wings were also just right. But, the two of them together--not a marriage made in Heaven. No one's fault, but my own. The waitresses STILL wear the little white tee-shirt material tops and the teeny shorts, just like they did it in the 80's. Back then, it was pushing the envelope, but pretty tame by today's standards. There are plenty of TV's all around with different sports on each, should you run out of conversation topics. It was close to 11pm. After scoring a deal at the Super Target for the polka dotted swimsuit, Ralph and I decided to wind down here. We started with the fried pickles, which we had before and it was a hit. What we also ordered was the buffalo chicken dip to go with their tortillas. I'm going to say, though, I didn't like how salty they were. The dip was enough for me. Drinkwise, I ordered the Hootercane and long legged Long Island and oh myyy, the first one already hit me when I finished it. Haven't been this happy-buzzed in a long time, but they tasted so good! Ralph's beer had a bit of a blueberry taste, but nothing memorable about it. Our servers were switching shifts as we were enjoying the appetizers. The 2nd girl came back to check if we needed anything else, I think it was twice or so. We got our check without asking for it first. It was getting late, I guess! The place was playing some oldies from the radio, so no jukebox here for you to selects songs from the app on your phone. Not crowded on this Saturday (5 nights ago). This is my second time visiting the OG Hooters & besides a couple of signs calling out original, you'd never know it was the original. & that's not a bad thing...that means that they uphold same standards at their other locations as their original one. I always hear the debate between what is better, bdubbs vs Hooters. Now having both in the past 2 weeks, hands down it Hooters. Their wing quality and cook are top notch. The only thing that bdubbs edges out Hooters is their sauces. Hooters hot sauce is barely a medium so that's a little disappointing. Our table also ordered some fried pickles and curly fries. The fried pickles had the perfect slice size as well as batter...doesn't get any better than that. The curly fries are just okay on their own but if you hit them with a few dashes of the Hooters seasoning they leave at the table, they are pretty bomb! The service here was great as well! This was my first time to the Original Hooters! It looked like the other ones. Our food was average. I think you go more for the atmosphere. We watched the World Cup game here and it was fun cheering along with the other customers. We got the chipotle chicken tacos. They weren't bad. The curly fries were good on the side. I passed a handful of disgruntled folks in parking lot. They said "it's fake!" Yep, got in and found out it was change to "buy ten, get ten". I left and went down the road. Me and my girlfriend are Sunday (cheat day) regulars here. These are by far the best boneless wings in our opinion. We always split an order or 20 (hot), and get an additional item (I know, it's a lot, but it's cheat day give us a break). My additional item of choice this week was the cheeseburger. The burger was good, not great, but good. I would probably order again at some point, but not my first choice. The boneless wings however, I could probably eat 3 times a day, every day, and never get sick of them. If your in the area and craving some hot wings, make sure to try out the boneless. I'm usually a bone-in type of guy, but with hooters I make the exception. Boneless alone would get 5 stars, but overall I give it 4. read more

Today I made a Easter Day visit to my local Hooters location the Original here in Clearwater. It's always a pleasure to have the opportunity to have one of the world famous calendar girls wait on me. I was fortunate enough to meet and be taken care of 2022 Hooters Calendar girl Samone. She greeted me upon arrival at the door with an enthusiastic hello and a smile. I believe I was one of the first guest in the store. I came prepared with my calendar of course and Samone was more than happy to sign it for me. She was very knowledgeable of the menu making great recommendations for me since I'm a vegetarian. I was made to feel welcome and my glass was very empty of my favorite sweet tea. Her service is like sunshine and I'd highly recommend any future patron to request her at the Clearwater location. I honestly cannot wait to see Samone in the 2023 Hooters Calendar and look forward to purchasing mine from her in the fall. She's a real asset to the company and a great brand ambassador. Living in the area, we decided to stop by tonight at the ORIGINAL Hooters and see what it's all about. To say we were disappointed would be an understatement. We started with the 10 piece Buffalo shrimp appetizer with medium sauce. When it arrived, you couldn't even tell it was tossed in the sauce. There was literally no sauce on them but a small pool of sauce in the bottom of the tray/ plate. When our entrees arrived, it was more of the same. I order the 10 piece boneless wings combo with the medium sauce and the Parmesan garlic rub. Once again, the wings that were supposed to have the medium sauce did not appear to have any sauce on them. There was a small pool of sauce at the bottom of the tray. I asked the server for more sauce which she did bring to me but it seemed very watered down. It had practically no flavor to it. I am a wimp as far as hot sauces and heat is concerned, I couldn't tell there was a sauce on there. My girlfriend Ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich with the medium sauce and had the exact same issue. We had a gentleman go by our table and so I asked him if he was the managers and he said he was one of the managers and I expressed my concern to him about the sauce or lack of and he explained me how it comes prepackaged and some thing about heating it up but that's what happens to it is the end result of what he was trying to explain to me from what I was able to understand. When we get our bill, I noticed that they charge you for each ranch or blue cheese dipping sauce that you get with your meal or appetizer. I have never had that happen in a restaurant that serves wings primarily. They usually give you one or two per order but this is where it was not extra sauces..... it was EVERY SINGLE ONE. So they got an extra six dollars out of us for just getting dipping sauces to go with our wings. That left another bad taste in our mouth. So for one appetizer, 1 ten piece of boneless wings, 1 buffalo chicken sandwich, 1 beer and 1 tea was $57 plus tip of 20% (not her fault) it was a $70 meal for wings for 2 people. Ridiculous. I don't mind paying good money for good food but this did not fit the bill based on this one visit. read more

I have visited this location quite a few times over the years.  Even though this is "The Original Hooters" there is nothing special about it which sets it apart from any other Hooters I've been to.   I will say, the food is good.  It is the reason I continue to go back.  The variety of sauces and rubs for the wings means I can try something different every time! In addition, you can never go wrong with curly fries and a side of jalapeno cheese dipping sauce! Also, they do offer some good, local beers on tap, which I thought was pretty cool. Unfortunately, the service received is generally sub par. It is the main reason I'm giving a 2 star review instead of a 4.  As a former server, I am quite forgiving when things go wrong with my order or food takes too long. Over the course of the multiple meals I've had at this location, I usually end up feeling ignored.  Drinks go unfilled, I have to ask management for plates and utensils, I wait an excessive amount of time for the check, etc.  This is a convenient location for me and I would definitely visit more frequently if I knew I would consistently receive great service. read more

Hooters is a fun place to eat and meet new friends. One individual is Samone. She is my server. She is absolutely beautiful and should be in the Hooters Calendar if she is not already. She is just an all-around nice person to be around. She has an outstanding personally and will do well in anything that she focuses on. Way to go Samone. Samone, may be very nice but she is terrible server. I was sitting for at least 35 minutes and on multiple occasions I tried to get her attention and when she finally came over I asked her how is my grouper sandwich and her response was I don't know. When it finally came I had to ask her for silverware and napkins. I remember her bringing a plate earlier with napkins and ketchup and I asked where it was she replied "I took it". As the original Hooters, I am embarrassed for the leadership of this company. Let us call a spade a spade and recognize that the majority of customers do not go here for the food, but that being said you can only skimp on food quality and service so much before the magic of the skimpy outfits wears off. Recently the size of the wings has gotten smaller than the girls' outfits and they lack the flavor offerings of a Buffalo Wild Wings by a mile. With the servers being such a key part of their business, I am dumbfounded with the general lack of attractiveness and sadly have low expectations for the service quality. I did not know this location in Clearwater was the very first original Hooters until I looked it up on Yelp. So does it mean the food or the girls they have better than other locations?? The answer is no! I have been to Hooters only once besides this time. That was in NC...the food was much better (not saying their food was great....it was decent). The food I had in Clearwater was just disgusting. Now the service. Our waitress was nice to us but I think she just wanted to get good tips. Other girls who weren't serving out table were just terrible. They got no smile on their faces, no greeting and they do not even acknowledge your existence. One of my friends was going to fill an application for a waitress position here, but she passed. She said the girls were very bitchy and mean to her....so that's their real faces just so you know. But I am a girl and so is my friend. If you are a guy, you would probably get treated better. I just wished I would have gone to some other place to have a better lunch. read more
