My experience with Hooked on Towing (Soon to be "Diamond Towing") was excellent! AAA now has a system that is totally automated, which I do not like.   I prefer dealing with human beings. I received a personal response (call back) from José from Hooked On Towing within 5-7 min.  He was kind, efficient, and confirmed my need and address/directions. He arrived within the expected time and gave me superb service! He asked what make/model vehicle needed battery service and came prepared with the proper battery, in case I needed one. He had an Interstate battery, which is the one we prefer, so I was very satisfied with the quality and value! He tested my alternator to make sure that my old battery was not the only issue before leaving. I am grateful that my call was responded to by Hooked On Towing, which José informed me had been purchased by his company "Diamond Towing" José is an excellent Ambassador of his company! I don't write reviews but this one is my first after my experience today. I'm giving this place 2 stars only because of the guys I actually spoke to. The gentlemen working at the Ontario location, Eddie and Adrian, were very professional and explained everything as much as they could. Andrea on the other hand... I was on the phone with Eddie for about 10 minutes. Throughout our conversation, I can hear Andrea yelling at him explaining what to tell me. I let it go. Called again later on, since our pick up was at their new Fontana location. Adrian picked up this time, explained to him what was going on and again, I can hear the same lady yelling at him. At this point, I asked to speak to her since she knew everything and he didn't pass her to me. So I asked him for her name, Andrea. I am very upset at the behavior Andrea reflected through the phone calls. Her behavior was very unprofessional. I'd have HR take a look into the work environment with Andrea. I was very disappointed with Hooked on Towing. I called on a Wednesday afternoon and spoke to Robert asking him if I could set up a towing service for the following Monday from my residence to my nearest car dealership. Robert gladly took the call, appearing to take down my information, including my phone number, address, car make and model as well as the time of my dealership appointment. He then provided me with a price quote, which I thought was very high, but given the good reviews Hooked on Towing had, I was willing to pay the amount for good service. Five days later, on Monday morning, I called to double check that I am ready for my vehicle to be towed three hours from current time. The operator looked through her records and said there was no mention of my appointment and that no service was scheduled for me. I informed the operator that I had spoken to Robert and that he confirmed my appointment. To which the operator replied that Robert was indeed an employee of Hooked on Towing, but that he did not work on Mondays and should not have taken the appointment. Consequently, there is no service available at the time I need in order to make my dealership appointment. The only thing the operator offered was that Robert should not have made such an arrangement. The operator informed me that they can send a truck to my residence, but that I am not a priority so it could take anywhere from one hour to six or seven hours. Basically, whenever they can get to me, they'll get to me. While I understand mishap occurs, there seems to be a lack of training of employees based on this incident. If an employee were to accept a reservation, it should be in the system, regardless of whether or not an employee is working on the day of towing. Moreover, if there is an acknowledgement of fault on the business side, there should be a bit more effort to get the customer the service they need as opposed to offering "they'll get to you when they'll get to you". read more

When my car overheated on me, I made the call to AAA, thankfully they dispatched the guys over at hooked on towing! My main man Ernie was all over it! He gave a call when we was 20 minutes out, and another call when he was 5 minutes out, confirming my exact location. Customer service was great, he went above and beyond to make sure my lower sitting car wouldn't scrape and or sustain any dings or scratches. We had a long haul taking the car back to my house, thankfully Ernie was my guy. talk about a super nice, down to earth dude. The conversation flowed easily and effortlessly, and before I knew it, we had made it to my house. I would highly recommend this company to anyone because, from what i can understand, Ernie and his coworkers are all buddies and if so, they all must be a bunch of good people! Hooked on Towing was sent to me by AAA---our car would not start at the Haven/Baseline shopping center. I suspected dead battery. "Chris" from Hooked on provided testing of battery, and answered all of my various questions---very polite, informative, and professional. I ended up purchasing a battery from this AAA guaranteed battery towing service---the battery that was dying on me was also a AAA battery that lasted us 5 years. You may save a few pennies buying a Costco battery, but Costco does not install them and its a lot nicer to have AAA come out when you you really need battery serviice and AAA really honors their battery guarantee.
