As soon as I walked inside, I was greeted with an enthusiastic hello and a smile. The man who helped me was patient and friendly. I decided to go with the Iced Spanish Latte. It was scraggly pretty good, especially since the taste did not get water surrender due to the ice(they use coffee ice cubes), so you still taste the delicious goodness. The interior gave picturesque vibes for all the social media peeps. I really like their floral area, and it's a spacious spot to read a book, study, work, or just grab your drink and take it to go. True to their name I'm hooked on their coffee! I love their iced lattes specially because the ice cubes are made with coffee so your drink never waters down. The place is so cute and very inviting to stay and do some work, reading or catch up with friends. The customer service is always great and their cookies are delicious. Nice coffee shop in somewhat of a different location. Located in a strip mall close to the Norms on Whittier. I finally decided to try Hooked on Coffee after seeing it around for a couple of years. Came around 10 on a Friday morning and there were a couple other patrons there. They have a relatively small menu, but it makes making a decision easier. Menu overall seems like a crossover between a coffee and a boba shop. The shop is clean and bright with a bunch of comfortable seating and handful of outlets. It is a good environment to study and get some work done. They have soft jazz playing in the background. I ordered a Large Iced Spanish latte which ran me $6.35. The latte was strong yet balanced and the nice part is that it had coffee ice cubes in it which kept the coffee strong even as I kept sipping on it throughout my work session. Came here on a whim as I needed my coffee fix! I have to say it's a little hidden in Whittier Blvd, so can be easy to miss. Plenty of parking off to the side or out front. I got the Spanish Latte with oat milk. Loved their drink. The best part is that the ice cubes are coffee! So when it starts to melt it won't get watered down. Definitely a huge points in my book. I'm not from this area at all, and I'm only reviewing ONE drink and the service. I love hazelnut and I love toffee flavors. I asked if it's possible to get a hazelnut AND toffee frapp, and they said yes! Not overly sweet like Starbucks, not watery, and loving the nutty + toffee mix of flavors. Additionally, they only sell the frapp in one size (large cup with some lid), which is way too much for me. I asked for another cup, a flat lid, and a straw so I can split it with my friend, and it's such an annoying ask, but the owner(?) didn't seem bothered at all. He was happy to oblige. The barista was not well informed on the milk offerings for beverages. My son has a dairy allergy so I wanted to confirm what milk they used but she could not confirm if it was soy, almond, or any other milk substitute. I decided to order something with out any milk for my son to be on the safe side. for myself, I went with the strawberry matcha. The matcha was not the best. So I have passed by this place several times. Considering it's on my way to work. Today I finally dropped in. And I am so glad I did. Called in my order. Which is very rare, but I was in a rush and I was driving. Nice person answer the phone and took my order. I was immediately impressed because she was very patient with me. I order oat milk and less sugar type of person. However she still gave me some amazing recommendations and I was there in about five minutes. My drinks were ready. She was very welcoming and as soon as I took a sip, I knew this was the place for me. I ordered the latte with oat milk and 50% less sweetener. It was still super delicious. Wow where to begin! This spot is so cute! They have plenty of seating, the brightness inside is so inviting! The girl who assisted us was very nice and she even gave us samples for the passion fruit tea because we couldn't decide. I ended up ordering an iced white chocolate mocha with soy and it was so good! It was so smooth and their ice is coffee cubes which i find genius because then your coffee doesn't get watered down! The small touches like that that make me want to go back and keep trying the different drinks! My partner got the Spanish latte with soy and she also loved it! After trying this myself I would have to agree with the complaints it has received. Cold brew was pretty bitter and didn't have the best taste to it. The cubes were also overly large and it was hard to put the straw inside.. I would have to say that the coffee for the latte was also a tad bitter. Very cute inside and nice customer service . It is clean and they turned our drinks out relatively quickly . The drinks were sweet for me even at half sweetness , but that was my only complaint . They do not offer decaf espresso in their coffee drinks either ( which means I can't have them ). The presentation was good , the boba was fresh but lacked flavor . This place has terrible customer service. I like supporting local businesses so I would go out of my way to purchase coffee here even though there is a Starbucks with a drive through on the same street. However, they were very heavy handed with the creamer one time and my wife and I were unhappy with the way our cold brew came out so we politely asked if they could pour us a new cup. The manager, Sam, was rude and said "it was made properly" so she refused to replace our coffee or give us a refund. I'm really disappointed with how she treated us and won't be returning. read more

FOOD: I just moved to Whittier and I was looking to get my coffee fix so I came in to Corner Place. It's a little hard to find, but not too bad. I ended up ordering an Iced Spanish Latte, which is a customer favorite. What makes it special is the condensed milk + cinnamon. I was clearly sold right away and it didn't disappoint. It was made with regular whole milk so it was very creamy, whole-hearted coffee taste, and one of the best things about it was that their ice cubes are made of coffee. Huge plus for me. I didn't taste too much cinnamon but overall, it was a great drink. I would love to come back here! SERVICE: There was only one girl working there, from what I saw but she was super sweet and made our drink to perfection. It was a wonderful experience!
