Only come here if you have a lot of time to kill. I would come here all the time if the service was better. It's clear they are not staffed appropriately as it takes a considerable amount of time to receive your order. The last time I went it took over an hour to get waters. Stumbled upon this gem thru walking in the back. It's located downstairs of Three Palms! Went there for dinner and everything was delicious! We ordered catch of the day (Salmon) and Flat Iron Steak. Both came with mash potatoes, caramelized onion and seasonal veggies. Also, I tried the Coco Bongo mimosa (perfect for my taste -not sweet), margarita and a glass of red wine. Good food but yes it is pricey. I can tell you the crab cake is a good size. I had it on a sandwich for lunch and then again 2 days later as a dinner. Same size cake. Definitely filling. IMO the only thing that would make this food special is if they had a unique spice blend that they threw on their fish. The selection is good but could be awesome and talked about all over the island. Service is confusing and I think even the staff is confused too. Why why why do I have to have sit so long to be greeted at the table? Get a drink in the guest's hand asap and then worry about who's table it is. Or.... Take the table and make more money. Figure it out!! Don't forget guests have been walking around and we're hot and we really just want a cool breeze and water and/or beverage of choice. I could make so much money here!! Step up staff! Came here for one dinner and a post diving trip lunch. Had a tuna entree for dinner and a blackened tuna sandwich for lunch. Also had mussels, calamari and popcorn shrimp appetizers. Menu with wide enough selection to please most palates. My family of five all ordered different things and enjoyed the food, everything was great, fish fresh and not overcooked. The service is exceptional for the island and the ambiance on the patio overlooking the marina is great yet still casual. We've had breakfast twice here in our trip, it's so good! Friendly service and a nice view of the marina. Coffee is pretty good (I'm picky when it comes to restaurant coffee, and this holds its own). My husband got the classic breakfast both times which he said was great - fresh eggs, crispy bacon, seasoned and crispy potatoes. My chocolate chip pancakes were so good- light, fluffy, thin, but still gooey with chocolate. The next time, I had the special for the day of stuffed French toast with guava jam. SO good- very fresh taste, the guava was excellent. We will absolutely be back! read more

We came here on our visit to the island earlier this month twice because we had such a great experience! We came with a bigger group and everyone loved all of their meals. The fried tomato eggs benedict was so good! My fiance also loved the crab cake eggs benedict. Service and location are also great! This was a very disappointing experience. They are trying but there execution and food choices are quite off. We had mussels for an app, which were extremely undercooked (mussels may have not been the best choice on my part on USVI but if it is on the menu it should be edible.). I ordered the fish and chips, which came out frozen in the center. (I could understand if this was some pub and it was a medium priced item that the kitchen gets it wrong every now and then but this is advertised and priced as a premium plate option.). We also ordered the fish of the day, advertised as grouper, and it came out as salmon, which was very strange, as salmon wasn't even an item on the menu. The staff was extremely apologetic, and I understand times are hard with COVID, but if you have a limited time in USVI and want a decent meal, I might steer clear of this place until they can fix their operations. read more

This was a little gem, tucked behind all the street front restaurants. Ambiance was perfect for January weather, with a nice harbor breeze. Good views of the docs. Drinks were good. Limitted beer selection, but as expected during COVID times. No draft beer available. Fried calamari was as expected for Fried Calamari. The tuna lettuce wraps were delicious. The crab cake sandwich was also very good. Did have a slight fishy taste, but again, as expected for seafood. Wait staff were also great. Very pleasant. Cash Only. So I would have given five stars to Doug E Fresh for his suggestions. They didn't have calamari. Even with the yelp menu pictures dated from last year showing they did. We came specifically for calamari but even when they didn't have it - glad we still had the catch of the day! Started with mahi bites. They could have been a meal! I think I could have rather had them. We then had the wahoo (catch of the day). I love fresh fish and you could tell this was a decent fish not frozen. However,. Mine unfortunately was a little over done but my hubby and daughters were cooked fine! Mine was blackened. With the mango salsa. My daughter had hers blackened with the garlic butter. I wish I had that instead. The mango salsa was a little bland. The garlic butter was so tasty. Get the plantains! They are goood!!! Ended the meal with a chocolate mouse to share. Good thing we did. - we were all full! And eating one each would have been over the top! So much better than the easterly down the street. I will continue to say it! Read the reviews before going here. So we were excited for breakfast. We got there early and we knew they opened at 8am but since it was raining we just ran into the covering to avoid getting wet. Once there, one of the girls says, we don't open until 8am we knew but we figured we would wait since it was only about 7:45a and it was raining and we didn't want to run in the rain back to the car and wait or go elsewhere. About 5 minutes later this same girl, tells us, "Lattes in Paradise is open if y'all are really hungry." My husband then asks her, "do you not want our business?" and she said "it's not that but I still have a lot of things to do." Ok we get it but there's a different way to approach paying customers. Hopefully the owner cares enough to read this review and not just brush it off. Can you imagine how many people they turn around just because people are 10 min early before they're open. How about you get there earlier to do what you gotta do or have more employees on hand to help with setting up all the things you had to do. Btw it was the girl wearing a leg brace. read more

Dropped in on Hook'd by chance and loved it! The seafood soup had a great depth of flavor and the portion was perfect. The absolute star of the menu was the seared Yellow Fin Tuna. Make sure you get a bite the all of the flavors together WOW! read more

Can't speak to the food as we didn't eat but they have an outdoor patio area and a covered indoor section (in the event of rain) with a view of Vessup Bay. I imagine the food would be mediocre bar food anyways but a perfectly fine spot to grab a beer or cocktail before hopping on a boat. read more

This is by far the worst customer service I have ever had. I ordered an appetizer and an entree for my son. When it finally came, the order was incomplete. I had since ordered two entrees. I waited another ten minutes and no additional food. When I asked the server she said she would go ask. She retired saying the order had gotten lost. Lost. The manager came over after my complaints that I had waited for more than an hour and many people had been served before us told me that she would cover the food on the table and "to leave her f-king restaurant." This was the first restaurant we ate at in Red Hook. We came in for lunch and to enjoy the outdoor seating. The food is good, but do not expect for the service to be accommodating. For example do not expect get any side orders, or modify any meal in any way. Their staff is obviously trained to advise the customer "the menu is designed to make it easy for the kitchen, not the customer." for instance if you want a couple of tortillas with your meal it becomes a very big deal. When you spend $120 on lunch I would not think asking for two tortillas would be a hardship for the kitchen. No other restaurant on the island limited our choices of requests. The good is good, but you can't have it your way. read more
