Haven't been here in awhile, so earlier today we decided to pick up lunch here. We ordered the shrimp and conch dinner. It was delicious and the conch was really seasoned well, fresh and tender. We ordered 2 flops, which is sweet tea and lemonade. We also ordered crab salad. It had too much mayonnaise in it and just crab and scallions. I didn't like that. Been coming to hooks since they opened and tho i get a limited number of items, it's normally ok. The gizzards are really tasty. Always get lemon pepper on anything fried if asked. Fries are thick and are a hit or miss but mostly ok (even tho i dont like thick cut). Everything that's not a side item comes with fries. The few times i had fried chicken, it was a little dry. The fried conch is good but not like other fried conch I've had. Dont bother getting the conch balls. Just get hush puppies for much cheaper and the same amount of conch (get it?). The coleslaw is sweet and chopped very fine if u like that type. I think they offer one size now, but if not, make sure u dont get the 1-2 spoons size (literally). The cheesesteak is good tho its probably steak ems. You should pass on conch salad and fried mushrooms, trust me. Also, the banana pudding is not "real homemade". Just banana flavored pudding like the handisnacks with banana slices and vanilla wafers. However, its not always the freshest (turned slices) nor are the cakes (it's been a long time since I've tried either tho). They put 2 slices of bread underneath each order (i love it as a grease soaker) but ive never eaten it once (my bf said it was old tasting the one time he did).
