Great food, service (thank you Danielle) and you can't beat the surf-side atmosphere. We'll be back!!

There's only one restaurant at the Marriott resort, and it's this one. It's a beachside bar and grill-and you pay for the view, not for the quality of the food. We had two meals here-more out of convenience of location than a superb experience. The service is pretty slow and if you're dining after the sun goes down, the hanging lights above the tables may not work-half of them were out. I ordered the teriyaki chicken rice bowl and it was not good at all. The second night that we ate there, I had a salad, which was much better. We did not order any drinks, besides water, so I can't attest to those. If you're in a jam and don't have time or desire to travel offsite for a meal, this is an option, but I'd recommend making time to go into town and find something else.

This is Honu Bar, sunset's are amazing and just a really awesome place to see the beautiful views and great food, drinks and atmosphere.

Literally my favorite Bar restaurant on a beach. Great food, drinks sunset's, absolutely beautiful spot, you have to check it out . Enjoy!!!

Review is based strictly on us having a few drinks and enjoying the view. It really is a pretty spot, and sort of what you want when you're thirsty and crave some ocean views. We only ordered a couple of very nice mai tais and a couple of Longboards. Everything was good, and our server was awesome. I can't speak to the food but we plan to try it next time we're on the island.

I love this place. You can't beat the view, excellent food and drinks, great service, and friendly staff. I had the Kahlua Pork Tacos and Mango Tango Mai Tai - both delicious!

Location on beach

Great food, great drinks, location is amazing and friendly service. It's not fancy, but a place meant to kick back, chill, relax and enjoy the view. Look forward to this place every year.

Only restaurant on Marriott property. Food and service were good. Keep an eye on your food. As soon as it was served the sparrows were already on my basket! Great access to the beach. Beautiful views and sunsets.

End cut prime rib but not dried out. Perfect!

This review is based on the Friday night special-Prime Rib dinner. We stay at this hotel but don't typically eat here. Thought we'd give it a chance. Our dinner was spot on and the price was really awesome value. Our server was a "ten!". Can't beat the view. And live music.

My sweet Honu on beach in front of Honu bar!

I live in CA and the Ahi Poke Plate is better than any poke bowl I've ever had in my area. I highly recommend it.

The chicken had a nice flavor and was nice and hot when it was served. The food was good, but not worth waiting over an hour in my opinion. You can make your own judgments, depending on how much time you have. We stopped by Leong's in Coconut Marketplace on a Sunday, which may have had something to do with the service. Plus, Kauai is a very small island and I was not expecting big city service speeds. However, it did take over an hour for us to get our food. That seems long, even for a small restaurant on a small island. We got to the restaurant and had to wait about 10 minutes for a table; not an issue. Once we got seated, we got water and coffee very quickly; not an issue. But when a large table (that was seated since we got to the restaurant) got their food after we had been waiting for 30 minutes, we started to get a little worried. The whole restaurant experience lasted about an hour and a half, and only about 20 minutes of that was eating. There were only two human waitstaff (and one robot which seemed kind of cool but mostly like an inconvenience to the workers), so I can understand somewhat. We also may have felt more pressured because we had to be somewhere after lunch.

We sat on the patio by the pool and luckily the umbrella was large enough to block the sun! The food all tasted great. The crab dip with 6 or 8 pieces of toasted focaccia was high quality with real crab not surimi. We ordered the flatbread with chicken instead of pork and it was also very good with a nice crispy crust and moist chicken chunks. The wedge salad was a large piece with crisp bacon, candied pecans, grape tomato halves and a tasty dressing. It only needed some red onion to make it perfect. The calamari were crispy but the portion size was too small and the pieces of calamari were too small so the ratio of crust to fish was too high.

We were told that the pupi portions were large and could easily be shared. This was true and we split the calamari and my husband found it to be too salty. We both had the fresh catch. He had ahi tuna and I had mancha which I was told was like halibut. It was thinner than halibut and reminded me of mahi-mahi. It was suggested to have it pan seared to make sure it was not overcooked. Well, it was a bit fry from being overcooked. I had a double portion of green vegetables which turned out to be 4 pieces of asparagus. My husband's ahi was served a bit more than seared and rare. His sides were 2 pieces of asparagus and a piece of carrot. In essence we each had a small piece of fish and a small portion of vegetables. This was a mediocre meal in a beautiful setting. They need to step up their game.

This ended up being one of if not the best meal we had all week in Kauai and it's right around the corner from where we are staying at the Sheraton Kauai Resort! We only managed to get a photo of one of our four meals because we hounded the food so quickly, but you can imagine how good the rest of our food was when the pineapple combination rice looked like this. If we are ever back in town, you can guarantee we will be back at Koloa Thai Bistro! PS: a quick note for the management - get that sign at the bottom of the stairs changed because you don't need hibachi to get people in the door anyway!

The windows were open, so a breeze did come through although it was quite warm in there. They have several tables on the skinny balconies that wrap around the restaurant. Our main server was devoid of any emotion whatsoever - rather strangely robotic. There was another gentleman that was wearing an apron who was either a cook/manager or the owner and he was running around filling in the gaps. Of course, as is the cost of all food in Kauai, the prices were really high for the quantity given. They charge $14 for four potstickers so we did not get those. We opted for the Larb chicken and the Thai basil chicken which we requested spicy, actually very spicy and it came out totally mild. They brought us some garlic chili oil which was nearly rancid. The flavor of the Thai basil chicken was really good though with lots of wok hay. The quantity of the larb chicken was at least twice as much as the Thai basil chicken. It was milder, but it was still tasty. They also serve sushi rolls however I'm not quite at the point of feeling comfortable paying $25 for one roll of sushi. Maybe in a few days after I'm used to It!

The front desk staff guided me to the elevator. This trip was for my birthday. In every reservation when asked about a special occasion, I put birthday. This was the first restaurant to acknowledge my special day. The check-in staff wished me well as did the server. We had been to several restaurants prior to Eating House that didn't say a word. Kudos to the staff for its kindness. The restaurant is open air and very comfortable. It has a rustic feel. We were seated by the window on a cool, rainy night but were perfectly dry the whole evening. On top of that, our server was very helpful in guiding us to order the right amount of food. He brought us a serving of edamame which is always on the house. The shrimp & pork potstickers were very good. I had the ramen which was tasty, filling and a great choice. Our server was terrific to put the spicy oil on the side which made it easier for me to eat. My husband had the butterfish which is the best I have ever tasted. It is a signature dish and always a pleaser. The only real downside is the limited menu. We were told that because of a staff shortage, it wasn't the typical menu. This was disappointing. But they did have the best of the Roy's dishes. So far, it has been the best experience that we have had in Poipu.

Unfortunately, the pastry chef was not there that night but there is a great ice cream shop near by! This restaurant is great for hosting large parties as there were several including our own. It was so good and the serving size was very large, I would definitely order again!!
