Muskogee park makes a nice stop if your headed that way. We went last weekend to visit the Butterfly papillon but it was closed for the season. A little stream comes down different levels with rock steps to climb on. Lots of ducks and turtles in the lake. Took pictures of all the unusual stubb's along the banks. Would love to go back next year when all the flowers are in bloom. And of course Butterflies open. Do have a small playground area too.

Great beautiful park that I found on my road trip back to Texas from Iowa. Loved the butterfly house and The Five Civilized Tribes museum was neat. The only thing that was a disappointment was no soap in the park women's bathroom near the fountains and splash park. Other than that the grounds are kept up well and the animals and insects seem very happy hear.

Great for Pokémon Go hunting. A bucket load of Pokestops. Great for a cheap date with the better half or a family outing during the day.

I bring my binoculars and always spot a great variety of birds. The trees are absolutely stunning... there are over 100 species of trees. Honestly... it's a little escape from a hectic world. It's the perfect place to bring a book, find your spot, and just relax for a while. Whether you're looking to unwind, enjoy nature, or have a quiet moment to yourself...this park is a hidden gem that never disappoints. Perfect for getting in your steps too! I like to go early morning before it gets too hot or busy. Starting in May they have free canoe rentals!! They also have very good food. Love their fresh fruit cups which they prepare every morning daily, their sandwiches are fresh and very good! I've also had their ice cream and it's delicious. When you first walk into the main building, you can check out chess pieces and other games. Some of the tables have the chessboard design printed on them. Perfect for getting your chess game on. Every Wednesday and Sunday, you can bring your dog. Over at the boathouse on the bottom floor they have a little museum called "Drawers of curiosity." Hard to believe The Gathering Place doesn't charge an entrance fee!! It's just simply amazing!
