I was lucky enough to find a parking right outside along the highway as I really didn't want to park inside with the assumption that is full it's an easy walk in. Love the foods they have there with spring rolls, friend chicken to braised pork noodles all at such reasonable prices it's like your transported to Thailand though mindfully it is very rustic but a great destination for something different...explore! There's a lot of parking but it gets packed fast. Get there early so you can find a spot. It was hard to get out though cause the roads are so narrow and some cars would be blocking the exit. We had to wait for them to move their cars before we could get out. There's pho, with a condiments station. A lot of thai food. The best part, papaya salad that's made in front of you. Ok, look. This is one of the few dedicated bike paths in the Honolulu metro area where you *mostly*…read moredon't have to worry about cars and/or tourists killing you on the roadways. For that alone, it deserves three stars. The problem, however, is what most people have noted. It's not that there are homeless people dotted along the way: there are. It's not that there aren't a couple of sketchy areas: there are. It's not that there is some debris on the trail: there is. The problem to my mind is that the city's solution was simply to create a half baked route and let it be. In terms of urban planning, like much bike infrastructure in Honolulu, there's much to be desired. To make matters worse, there doesn't seem to be regular, consistent upkeep throughout the entire path. So you often have broken glass and other debris along the path. More heinous is that there are places where there is 3" of pole sticking out of the ground from where someone cut the metal barricade that prevents motor vehicles from accessing the route so you now have a piece of metal jutting up from the ground that is poorly marked for any unsuspecting cyclist. And some of the bridges--mostly toward the stadium--look dilapidated (but they're still functional, for now). In other words, much like the homeless population in Honolulu, the city seems to have taken a laizze faire stance toward the upkeep and maintenance of the path. It's clear that whomever had the thing built is either no longer around or not a cyclist because no way would a politician who uses the bike path allow it to deteriorate like that. Ok, now for the good. As I mentioned, it's one of the few dedicated bike paths in the Honolulu metro area. It's about 5-6 miles *one way* if you're lucky. So a good running path but a poor substitute for a bike path. But, after you get past the sketch areas (mostly on the stadium side), you're golden. The asphalt isn't the best maintained in some areas but if you pay attention for debris and people, you can get some decent speed albeit for a short period. As others mentioned, I wouldn't come out here at night or in the early morning. I'd bring a buddy if you can during the day. On my ride, people I passed nodded, waved, or were indifferent to me as a rider. I didn't feel unsafe but I was alert. Protip: i had the hardest time finding the trailhead on the stadium side. If you're coming from Salt Lake Blvd, you have to cross over Kam Hwy so you're riding in the wrong direction. Ride along the Kam Hwy sidewalk for a bit until Kam Hwy crosses under Hwy 201. There's a sidewalk down where you can access the trail. I took some photos. Protip 2: if you need to drive & park, you *may* be able to park at the Best Buy as the trail passes right behind the store. Check the lot first. I'm not paying your towing fee! This would be awesome because the most maintained part of the trail is from Best Buy to the Waipahu portion.

At first, I didn't want to go because I'm spoiled by all of the concerts in Las Vegas and Los Angeles. Aloha Stadium (35,000 open-air seats), in comparison, seems less organized and more crowded than mainland venues. Jules was always positive about getting tickets - she was so patient and lucky - and had a great plan about parking for free in the residential area. She was smart about eating before the concert because the lines are long and the prices are on the higher side. Jules knew the layout of the stadium and where to sit to avoid the setting sun. The one thing we couldn't avoid was the line for merchandise. Yeah. Unbelievable. After waiting in a single line, people merged into a mass and pushed forward to a limited supply of souvenirs (because this was his final concert of a 200 concert tour). I pointed to the display which was a XXL black t-shirt and got it quickly! Turns out that it's not available online...wow! We inched our way from the merchandise tables to our seats. Ahhh...it was nice to finally sit down after walking a mile to the stadium, standing in line for an hour to get in, waiting in line for the restroom, and standing in the merchandise line for 1.5 hours. Haha! We were in the Orange Level in the L section on Sunday, 11-11-18 - we had a good view of the stage and jumbotrons. The sound wasn't too loud and we could see all of the fireworks! There were two Opening Acts: Common Kings (from Orange County) - popular songs include "One Day", " Lost In Paradise", and "Today's A New Day" - and The Green, a local band most known for the song, "All I Need". Both reggae bands were really good!!! The crowd sang and danced with anticipation! Finally, it was time for The 24K Magic World Tour! Bruno's clear, strong voice held out even though this was his third and final night in Honolulu. Bruno's dancing, guitar playing, and drumming were amazing. What a talented young individual! Seeing him in person made me appreciate him even more! Note: my eyes welled up with tears during the Opening video. He paid tribute to his mom and dad and his high school friends! I enjoyed seeing his childhood pictures - especially of his days of being an Elvis impersonator - and his high school portrait!

We came in from the North End Zone side and the two concert merchandise areas were all the way on the South End Zone side. We stood in line from 5-615 and once we got to the front there was not much left I wanted to choose from except for huge sizes or sweatshirts so Nadine got a 2XL shirt and I sadly put back a couple items I really wasn't interested in keeping. We went to the other line to see if there was a chance at getting something but the line was even longer. We got to our seats and waited just a bit for the concert to start. The opening performance began right at 7pm with Common Kings, a Reggae genre group. The sound is kinda loud (they're playing now as I type) but they sounded great. The stage is placed just before the North End Zone of Aloha Stadium and there are seats covering the entire football field. I'm excited to hear the Bruno Mars concert!
