    Glitter Glitter all over.....
    T. Anthony N.

Oh yeah....loud and pumping. Audience was so intense. Last night of the 3 night gig. Last night of the tour. My Fitbit registered over 7,000 steps - must be the dancing in the stands! My glutes were twerking the next morning. Good workout. All night party..... Pics are of me getting popped surprised with a selfie right when the fireworks went off behind the stage! I freaked and it was caught on the pic....! I plan to see Bruno in Vegas on NYE.....will be able to compare the two concerts. This homegrown heartfelt love for his hommies will be hard to top. From the heart. A special night. A special star.

For that alone, it deserves three stars. The problem, however, is what most people have noted. It's not that there are homeless people dotted along the way: there are. It's not that there aren't a couple of sketchy areas: there are. It's not that there is some debris on the trail: there is. The problem to my mind is that the city's solution was simply to create a half baked route and let it be. In terms of urban planning, like much bike infrastructure in Honolulu, there's much to be desired. To make matters worse, there doesn't seem to be regular, consistent upkeep throughout the entire path. So you often have broken glass and other debris along the path. More heinous is that there are places where there is 3" of pole sticking out of the ground from where someone cut the metal barricade that prevents motor vehicles from accessing the route so you now have a piece of metal jutting up from the ground that is poorly marked for any unsuspecting cyclist. And some of the bridges--mostly toward the stadium--look dilapidated (but they're still functional, for now). In other words, much like the homeless population in Honolulu, the city seems to have taken a laizze faire stance toward the upkeep and maintenance of the path. It's clear that whomever had the thing built is either no longer around or not a cyclist because no way would a politician who uses the bike path allow it to deteriorate like that. Ok, now for the good. As I mentioned, it's one of the few dedicated bike paths in the Honolulu metro area. It's about 5-6 miles *one way* if you're lucky. So a good running path but a poor substitute for a bike path. But, after you get past the sketch areas (mostly on the stadium side), you're golden. The asphalt isn't the best maintained in some areas but if you pay attention for debris and people, you can get some decent speed albeit for a short period. As others mentioned, I wouldn't come out here at night or in the early morning. I'd bring a buddy if you can during the day. On my ride, people I passed nodded, waved, or were indifferent to me as a rider. I didn't feel unsafe but I was alert. Protip: i had the hardest time finding the trailhead on the stadium side. If you're coming from Salt Lake Blvd, you have to cross over Kam Hwy so you're riding in the wrong direction. Ride along the Kam Hwy sidewalk for a bit until Kam Hwy crosses under Hwy 201. There's a sidewalk down where you can access the trail. I took some photos. Protip 2: if you need to drive & park, you *may* be able to park at the Best Buy as the trail passes right behind the store. Check the lot first. I'm not paying your towing fee! This would be awesome because the most maintained part of the trail is from Best Buy to the Waipahu portion.

The only 2 negatives I have is occassionally there are stray dogs (I got bitten once) and the homeless encampments. To their credit so far I have not heard of the homeless campers causing any trouble.

My husband and I usually get the steak and mushroom fettuccini and linguine with clams. The service and atmosphere is always great and we came here recently to celebrate Mother's Day with my husband's family. When it gets busy the wait tends to be quite a while but if you're there with good company the wait should definitely go by quick! They do have a waiting area inside and outside of the restaurant. There is a lot of parking right outside and in the surrounding area by Starbucks.

I'm a server at a big chain restaurant and I certainly don't treat my customers like this even when I'm slammed and busy. Usually I'd excuse bad service because I understand, but when I tell you it was not even busy and on top of that she would walk away in the middle of me speaking, rolled her eyes when we asked for the menu again, rarely checked in, never said thank you or your welcome back to us, and soooo much more issues. The busser and other server had to constantly jump in and help because this girl wasn't on her A game. So disappointing. Wasn't able to catch her name, but girl you know who you are. Praying for you!

So it really does pain me to have to steer clear from now on. The last 3 visits have almost over taken every positive visit I've had prior. While we appreciated the willingness that they accommodate us with reservations (party of 5-8) the irritation sets in that we are normally always there for a average of 2 hours with it being barely busy and they rather prioritize takeout orders. Although I had advised my Mom we should maybe find a different eatery on Mother's Day, she was absolutely certain about dining here. I will include the obvious that it's a special day.. it will be chaotic.. blah blah blah. They were simple unprepared. They also were fully staffed. In fact, that was the most FOH staff i've ever seen them have at once. No Bread for 20 mins.. you guys just opened, we were at the first sitting, how do you not have bread?.. we even made it more easy!! no Appetizers, just entrees! we had a party of 8 and 6 dishes bc the kids were sharing, We sat there for 1h 30m until we got to eat. Practically every table around us got served and left before us. Couldn't even expedite the kids spaghetti. terrible. When the bread was ready, all the smaller tables were served first, but not the party with a 5 year old and 7 year old audibly saying they were starving. Cherry on top.. what really sealed the deal to never be back, was we decided to pack up our food and leave bc we were just over everything. They had the audacity to drop the bill, my brother ask for a bag and the Server literally reopened the bill to add on the bag haahah. y'all keep the $0.15 Not a lost at this point. Go anywhere else. Plus, my lasagna and my Husbands Seafood pasta was swimming in liquid. Grimey

And once, we saw my hubby's cousin having dinner with friends there. Little did we know that it was a popular place for those living westside. Ricado's has been opened since 1993, serving delicious pastas and Italian cuisine. It offers: * Appetizer. Calamari, cheeses, shrimp piccata, salami, veggies, garlic bread. * Salad. House, Italian, Caesar, chicken, antipasto. * Soup. Minestrone. * Pasta. Bolognese, linguine, penne, carbonara, ravioli, tortellini, lasagna, fettuccine, chicken, eggplant. * Poultry. Chicken piccata, parmagiana, marsala, saltimbocca. * Veal. Marsala, piccata, saltimbocca, New York steak.= * Seafood. Shrimp, calamari, fish. * Dessert. Gelato, sorbet, cheesecake, tiramisu, mud pie. As we live in East Honolulu, let's see what we've been missing out. On a recent dinner visit, we ordered the following: * Shrimp Sorrentino. House specialty of mushrooms, eggplant, mozzarella cheese, marsala-wine butter sauce served over linguine. A very filling meal with a delicious generous portion of breaded eggplant and large shrimps over cheesy linguine and toppings! A new favorite for me! * Lasagna. Meat with ricotta cheese, Mozzarella cheese, and tomato sauce. Creamy and cheesy lasagna that meits in your mouth in delicious generous portions! Hubby's choice, and he loved it! Complimentary hot baked bread with generous slices of butter was served. The bread was crispy on the outside and fluffy soft on the inside. A serving dish of fresh Parmesean cheese was provided to allow use of the Parmesean cheese as toppings and as much as we wanted! Staff was friendly and attentive, refilling water glasses, taking timely orders, assuring that requests are taken care of, and that boxes are provided for leftovers. They all had smiles and were willing to please. They allowed you to take your time in ordering. And once you're done, they will thank you for coming as they appreciate your patronage. Hours of operation are Tues to Thurs 5:00p to 8:00p, Fri to Sun 4:30p to 9:00p, Mon closed. Long gone are those lunches, as only dinner is served. We elected to have an early dinner on a Sunday instead of fighting traffic on a weekday. No reservations were necessary for an early Sunday dinner, as we noticed large family dinners had special occasion celebrations, and that we were early enough before the dining rooms got crowded. The dining rooms appear outdated, but the lights are dimmed to create a date-night ambiance. With delicious pasta, large portions, good value, a pleasant ambiance, and excellent customer service, the dining experience is one to remember! We would definitely return for our favorites or try the different menu offerings. Sure wish there was a Ricardo's in East Honolulu. Support local!
