We went here for a quick lunch while out on a shopping spree. It was the closest sushi place to where we were when hunger struck so we decided to give it a try. When we walked in the floor was dirty and the place was giving off mild discoteca vibes but the place was pretty busy so we decided to grab a table and give it a go. We couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised. The sushi was a home run. A+! All staff we interacted with were kind and radiating positive, happy go-lucky vibes. We were provided with complimentary edamame while we waited for our sushi rolls too! Such a nice surprise. Now, the sushi. We ordered two vegetarian rolls and two specialty rolls. We both had water and the total cost before tip was about $57. Well worth it. They did not skimp on ingredients and these were saucy and big, fat rolls. Made to perfection. My goodness are we glad we stayed and dined here. They also have all you can eat lunch and dinner options but the only sushi on the all you can eat menu are nigiri style (non-rice rolls). Looked like a few were taking full advantage of the all you can eat option so if you're a meat eater and feeling like a bottomless pit this might be worth a try.

We were a hungry party of four on a Sunday evening looking for satisfaction in the form of AYCE sushi & apps. Honkaku was over the top good. A few fried apps (crab Rangoon, oysters, soft shell crab) and a few healthy (seaweed salad, house salad, yakatori, shumai.) The shumai was served cold. All other apps were awesome, especially the soft shell crabs. The sushi was all awesome. I found the rolls without mayonnaise to have a better return value. Service was excellent.

Nigiri. Green turtle, sapporo, and crazy tuna rolls -- my favorites!!!

2nd time reviewing Honkaku on Yelp. 1st time Dec 2022. I wish I had friends who liked karaoke, because I would be here every weekend! YES, Honkaku has KARAOKE. You can call and reserve their karaoke room. So so fun and I love hearing people having fun when I'm there (it's not loud, but you can faintly hear it if you're seated close enough). We have come here many times and love the AYCE. Truly great sushi for the price (~$35 a person). Love all the variety you can pick from. The service is awesome and the manager is truly a GEM. Some of my favorite speciality rolls: Green Turtle, Mexican, and the Spicy Tuna. My husband said he would take a bullet for the Dynamite roll, so take that as you will lol. I thought it was too sweet for me. I'd rather come here than drop +$100 at some overrated St Charles sushi bar that has $20 rolls. Like, this is such an amazing deal and the sushi is so solid. Let's be real: we're in the northwest suburbs people. Chicagoland has limited spots with fish so fresh it waves a fin at you, so I'll happily scoot my way to Honkaku any day for the price, service, and quality. Hands down my favorite place to sit down or even pick up some to-go sushi from. Also, I wish every restaurant had a manager as attentive and charismatic as the manager. Makes for a great experience and something we love coming back to. When my parents are in town they always ask us to take them here because they love chatting with him

All you can eat sushi for $34 dinner price, not too bad. We tried a few appetizers, nothing special skip the Fried calamari not what you expect. The sushi wasn't bad just wasn't the sushi experience I had a taste for. The best roll we tried was the spicy 2 in 1, very fresh. We sat outside because it was a nice day, our waitress was very attentive never forgot about us. The cocktails were the star of the show, I had a lychee martini made perfectly. If you're looking to try out new rolls without paying too much I'd recommend checking this spot out.

Not worth $35. We still go to AYCE located in the city and while the menu is comparable, the price is not. Service was good and food came out on time. I'm also disappointed that shumai is deep fried, not steamed. I dined with w a 3yo and a 6 yo, and they both paid half the adult price. It was an "expensive" AYCE sushi meal. We weren't about to get green tea ice cream because it was located in the deep freezer and was not able to scoop.

Good place for all you can eat (AYCE) sushi! They disinfect the tables pretty well as I could smell the bleach when I first sat down. It was a little unappetizing, but the odor went away. $26 for dinner $20 for lunch There are lots of options on the dinner AYCE menu, including appetizers, nigiri, rolls and desserts. The soft shell crab and crab rangoon appetizers are pretty good. I also enjoyed the strawberry and green tea ice cream for dessert. Between the Crazy Kani roll and the Caterpillar roll, I liked the first more. .|\---/| | o_o | .\_^_/..2021

This was my first visit at this restaurant. It is larger inside than I imagined. They also have the bar. We came to try sushi. This restaurant has sushi buffet. However, they will charge the customer if they have any left overs. The rolls were mediocre. I loved the appetizer soft shell crab. It crunchy and tasty.

Everything was fine at first and our group of friends have been here a number of times. The kitchen was bringing out our apps and everything...we waited over an hour and when we asked about our orders, we were joked to and questioned who we gave our orders to...we get it that it's Covid and everyone is short staffed, but instead of apologizing or even saying "hey sorry we're backed up" he started to make us feel like it was our fault we ordered? It was very unacceptable and we only simply asked for the real wait time. Overall not a pleasant surprise for this stage of the pandemic. Zero excuse to be rude and condescending. Probably not gonna come back. He never apologized.

We went with our daughter and her friend and the service was amazing, so was the food. When they found out that our daughters birthday is coming up, they surprised her with a birthday song and ice cream in a separate room! We love sushi, and from the miso soup to the different rolls, it was really outstanding!

Rolls are nothing spectacular. But I love their potstickers. When I dine in I probably order a six of them when I do the AYCE.

I was in Addison for my kid dentist appointment search all around and saw all the 5 stars and good reviews. So I decided to make a try. The appetizer was good and fresh, but sushi I have the rice is hard, taste like overnight. Every sauce on the sushi too salty. By the way the services is great and very professional.

I have been to this location dozens of times over the years The price increases are completely understandable but $34.95 I'm sorry is very high for poor quality. Myself, two adults and 1 teenager had dinner last night. We waited 2 hours for our 5 rolls!!! A number of appetizers we ordered never came then we had to argue about 1 roll that was missing. The manager was completely disrespectful and lied to our face about splitting the checks. I felt bad for the guy who was also arguing with the manager in the lobby who was told it would be 15mins for his order to be ready and was still waiting 1.5 hours later!! I will NEVER visit this location and you should think twice too!

I went with the bento box B with the teriyaki chicken, and I can't really pick a clear standout. The teriyaki chicken was cooked perfectly and just hit right, but the fried vegetables were just as impressive. Light, crispy, not greasy at all. And yes, I said vegetables... I know, right. They kind of balance each other out, and honestly both were equally good for different reasons. I also grabbed a side of crab rangoon and yeah... those were crazy good. Crispy outside, creamy inside, just straight addictive. Only complaint is you get three. That's it. I could've put down 30 without even thinking about it. What I really liked is this place doesn't try too hard. The food is clean, fresh, and consistent. You can tell they care about what they're putting out. It's not some flashy, overhyped sushi spot, it's just solid across the board. The space is smaller and more on the cozy side, which honestly works in its favor. Easy to relax, not loud or chaotic. Service was friendly and on point without hovering. Overall, this is exactly the kind of neighborhood spot you want. Good food, good people, and a vibe that keeps you coming back.

This spot is pretty good for the area, and the fish tasted fresh compared to many nearby options. Prices are on the higher side, and the biggest downside is the service, which was very slow and not very attentive. If service improved, this place would be a standout, but it is still worth trying if quality fish is your priority.

I've repeatedly asked that they don't include so much rice in the chicken rice soup since it ends up more like wet chicken and rice, and yet they continue to do it. The flavor was pretty bad this time around anyway, so I will not be ordering it again. Strangely enough, the egg drop soup, which I do not normally care for, was quite good. So the quality varies, I guess. Speaking of quality, the vegetable eggrolls were over-cooked and dry, but the shrimp eggroll, which was part of a lunch order, was good. I also tried the fried rice for the first time and was not impressed at all. It looked like Panda Express fried rice, except Panda Express is better. Usually Chinese fried rice is much better than any chain. As for the main dishes, the sesame chicken and teriyaki chicken were good, but the broccoli chicken was just so-so. In the photos online it has a brown sauce, but it came with a white sauce. I'm not sure if that has to do with my special instructions asking to put garlic in it or not, though. I also asked in my special instructions not to provide utensils or any sauce but sweet and sour but they threw in hot mustard, soy sauce, and utensils anyway. So I still don't know if they can see the special instructions or just choose to ignore them. In any case, I will probably still order here occasionally since the location is convenient, but I'm not as thrilled with the food as I was in the past. That being said, they do pack the containers as full as possible which I appreciate as not all places do.
