In fact, so happy was I, that my very next order came from this place. It's not overtly dissimilar (in my experience) to your standard Chinese take away, but truly, the salt n' pepper chips are something else -very spicy, but very very moreish! I ordered my standard, which is a special curry, special fried rice, and the aforementioned chips and was awarded a huge round dish of special fried rice. There wasn't perhaps as much 'topping' meat as with other places, but I've yet to have a heartier portion bestowed upon me. As for the curry, it was lovely, and tasted a little sweeter and a little more 5 spice (is that the one, or is it 7?) than other places. Regardless, I was finished before having gotten through a third of the food-so had plenty for the next day. Also worth noting, a little spicier on the whole, but this is fine by me. I'm getting less and less affected by spice as the days go on! I'm a serial re-heater, mostly as I order for one, and for delivery end up with gargantuan amounts of food. As such, there are a few choice places whose chips always reheat well, and I remember these things. Sadly, New Ho isn't one of them. That's not to say when arrived fresh they're no good-they're great in fact -but just didn't have the same zing after a turn in the oven. Perhaps as they're not so chunky as other places. Anyway, that's a personal preference, so not on the whole useful unless you're as mad as me. Regardless, they're another hit on the list, and well worth a try. Yum!

I was very pleased with the vegetarian selection on the menu and it took me a while to choose, after choosing and placing the order we were told it would take between half and hour and forty mins to be delivered. It arrived after about twenty mins and the delivery man was well presented and friendly. The food was lovely and there was a lot of it, well worth the price; I would definitely order from Ho Garden again as all the vegetarian options sound interesting and if lasts nights was anything to go by then it will be a nice alternative to cooking on a Friday night.

I'm so glad we decided to return and try this one out. It's quite a big place and can been seen from the roundabout.. of course we drove straight past it though because you come off the roundabout and the turning in is literally the first immediate right. When we go anywhere new we normally try the set menu to get a good idea of the food in the place and then if it's good we come back and try different dishes the next time.. also we tend to gauge a good Chinese restaurant on the hot and sour soup.. this was a good one. We had a mixed platter for the second course (ribs, prawn toast, spring roll and a kinda curry samosa) they all tasted wonderful. Then for the main course we got steak in a fruit sauce, beef in chilli sauce and king prawn massaman curry.. which again was great.. they are big portion sizes too so we didn't get chance to sample a desert. The service was excellent too.. we got a young woman as our waitress and she was delightful.. she engaged with us, was funny and attentive to our needs.. also we weren't rushed in anyway either.. they were quite happy for us to chat away at our hearts content even though it was getting close to their closing time. They do a pretty mean sweet and sour chicken, but it's hardly the hardest dish to cook, so maybe they shouldn't be praised too highly for it. My mate found their Cantonese dishes to be a disappointment in comparison to Jade City down the road, and, to me, the prices and portions were nothing special. Unique is OK. It does the job. But it is anything but unique.

The chicken in black bean sauce tasted nice and also the the won tons from the mixed starter to share were very good.. they did charge over £5 for a portion of bean sprouts and also the house special rice cost over £10. All in all I'd give it 3.5 stars but I though giving it three stars on here wouldn't be fair to knock their rating down. They also add on an optional 10% service charge onto your bill, so if you don't want to pay it then you have to check your bill properly, we chose to pay ours because in the end.. it was a nice evening out.
