We have eaten here perhaps a dozen times. Typical USA Oriental buffet fare w/ many choices, none really authentic and none highly seasoned. We went again & just got home. One big CAVEAT: On occasion, they offer special seafoods like king crab legs. There is a mandatory surcharge for this, even if one doesn't eat or even see the items. I feel this is very unfair and a deceptive practice. This is why we quit going. We are going there now, to see if it has improved. I plan to ask up front re surcharges. The problem is not the amount of the surcharge; but the DECEPTIVE way it is applied. We had zero notification and never even SAW any crab legs, but we were forced to pay. Update: No "surcharge" tonight. Foods all highly sugared. One more warning: the men's room floor is often wet & very slippery, take care ! The waitstaff has been very nice & helpful. I wish I could give a zero for thiis review. Since they have changed owners, this place has gone drastically downhill. The wait staff is very slow and have no desire to speed up. The food is atrocious. I say that because we used to come here all the time with the old owner and the food was cooked very well and the presentation of the buffet was exceptional. I wish I could just give a zero or a negative review for this restaurant. We used to eat at this restaurant all the time, sometimes 3 to 4 times a week. Rachel was a great business owner, and she took care of her business well. First of all, the food was excellent back then. The wait staff was prompt, courteous, and friendly. The atmosphere was awesome. When Rachel sold the business, we noticed that the place was starting to go downhill. The food was lacking in taste. We decided to go there today, after maybe 4 months of staying away, and give it a try (benefit of the doubt). The place was deplorable. Rachel would get her crawfish from Breaux Bridge, and they were always at least medium size and the cook that was there was on point with Louisiana seafood. The crawfish today weren't much bigger than your pinky finger and they tasted horrible. The boiled shrimp were not very tasty, and they were hard to peel. The wait staff is lazy and were sitting down and not checking their people. This was never allowed in Rachel's restaurant. The food on the buffet looked like it was dried up from the heat lamps. The mac and cheese, for example, was crusty and brown. The grilled chicken was so hard and tough, I almost broke a tooth. We will never be eating at this establishment again. It looks like from the reviews that we were not the only ones that saw this bad state of affairs. For a Chinese buffet the sushi is really good and fresh. The boiled seafood is worth the price by it self. All of the other buffet items are pretty typical for a buffet but the quality is a bit above most. Restaurant is usually always clean and servers are attentive. read more

Shrimp several different ways, small crawfish, ice cream by the scoop, sushi, baked fish/salmon, fried seafood, along with many Chinese meat dishes with vegetables. If I could give this place one star, I would. The food is not only left out for a considerable amount of time, but the staff is also very rude. They've had the police called not once, but TWICE. I actually was kind of torn while deciding on my rating. Well, here's the story of why I gave it four stars: Just this past weekend, on Saturday, my boyfriend and I , and his parents, went to eat here before seeing a movie. I had no complaints about the food or the setting. What's not so good as our waitress. She outright flirted with my boyfriend's dad, and then had the nerve to start on him. Order ahead or sit at a table to order and eat. Skip the buffet which is heavy on the grease--unless you want crab legs, which are plentiful. Their dumplings are strange looking, but actually very tasty--but only order them steamed, as they don't fry them in a pan, they deep fry them (which perhaps I should've guessed when the waitress didn't recognize the name "pot-stickers" when I initially ordered by that name). I had the worst experience ever tonight at Hong Kong! I had fried ric, general tso chicken, sesame chicke, and an egg roll to start. The rice was cold and dry. Both of the chickens I had were cold and old looking. Lastl, the egg roll tasted like i was eating a spoonful of salt! My daughter stated that her macaroni and cheese was salty. My mother also tried a fresh egg roll and she immediately spit it out into a napkin as I did! I spoke with the person at the counter as I proceeded to leave. My mother and stepdad were behind us. They gave my mother a full bill even after she had spoken with a few different people about the dissatisfactions. When all was said and done...she was still charged for two adult entrees and all of the drinks. I will NEVER RETURN to Hong Kong! Complete utterly waste o time and money! So to be completely honest with everyone who will somehow read this, this restaurant is one of my favorites now to me because the food is so damn good, the prices are reasonable, and the staff is friendly!
