I came to Honeytree Meadery for trivia night. Our group had fun playing and the slow pace of the trivia gave us plenty of time to talk. There wasn't any table service and we picked our drinks of at the bar. There is a very thorough drink menu focused on honey and meade. Inside and outside seating is available. We always love coming to the Honeytree Meadery. The staff are always incredibly kind and willing to explain the menu to you, and they allow small samples of the mead before you commit to a full glass. I typically order their sampler, which includes all three of their seasonal meads. Also, I just love the wooden glass holder. The ambiance is very welcoming. Most of the furniture is made of wood with their logo fire branded onto it (along with honeycomb designs). There is also an outdoor area, both in the front and back of the meadery. The front has some picnic benches and currently hosts the Bad Luck Burger food truck, so you can enjoy a burger while you enjoy your mead. The back patio area is spacious with a large stage and plenty of gigantic tables for seating. The mood is very chill, and they even sometimes host events (like fire dancing). It is dog friendly, but parking can admittedly be challenging at times. read more

The ancient honey-based mead comes in a variety of sweetness, from dry, not too sweet and super sweet, but if it's not sweet enough for you, Cameron knows his stuff and will find the right one for you. I went with the basic piña colada, which is dairy free. My husband went with the sweet baby ginger and the spiced blood orange. This place is super cute and has plenty of seating. Honeytree is such a unique spot, and I'm so glad they're located in my neighborhood. Before my first visit, I'd tried mead at a Renaissance Festival and liked it enough ... but that experience couldn't have prepared me for the awesomeness that Honeytree had in store. If it's your first time visiting, and you're thinking you want to try a few different flavors, I recommend taking a taxi or rideshare. Not only is it safer if you plan to drink, but parking nearby is PRICEY because it's right across the street from Basement East. The lot next to Haraz does offer the first hour of parking for free ... but Honeytree is so cool, you'll want to stay longer than one hour. Honeytree has a gorgeous and expansive patio out back with plenty of seating - and the inside is just as vibey. There's all sorts of space to spread out with your friends, and if you get hungry, Bad Luck Burger Club is permanently parked right outside. I've tried a handful of their offerings at this point, and it's hard to pick a favorite. If it's your first time, I recommend a flight, or asking your bartender for their recommendations! Prices aren't bad for a small pour, and there are plenty of other beverage options for anyone's taste or mood. They even have Maypop on tap, which is fun for non-alcoholic friends, or folks like me who just love sparkling water. You can even take a bottle to-go for around $20, which is a great gift, and way cooler than just bringing a bottle of regular wine to your friend's house. read more

I really wish we would have spent more time in this area. The honeytree meadery had such a relaxed vibe. Outside their front door were some firepits inside they had music and anime playing. Me and the man were about to leave to go back home to Memphis, but we checked out this cute little place because my bf LOVES mead. He's only had meridian hive so him trying this place gives him more knowledge about it. The interior is adorable and the server was helpful with a good attitude. The second I walked in to Honeytree, the cozy interior, vibey music and board game shelf told me I was going to love it! A very kind bartender, Lily (?) greeted my partner and I and gave us the rundown for our first visit. They told us about the mead and let us sample some, I don't have any experience with mead but we loved it! We each ordered a flight and settled in with a couple of board games to pass the time. This might be my favorite place in Nashville! The ambiance is very chill, low lighting but fun cozy seats inside with the burger food truck right out front! The mead itself is phenomenal! They have a variety of sweet to dry. Gluten free, no additives and low sugar with all natural and local honey (aka no hangover for me)! Flavor(forget the last one) There is Other cool one is with 9 different glasses. I also got lil batch. It is only 6% so overall super fresh feeling. Like sake. This mead is so good, I bought 6 bottles to take back on my 5 hour plane ride from Nashville to San Francisco. I don't usually drink alcohol but mead is an exception because it's sweet and doesn't burn. Since the Bay Area doesn't have traditional mead (there's only 1 Meadery 1 hour away and they use a champagne refining process which leaves the mead sparkly, but not sweet), I spent $30 on Lyft to get to Honeytree Meadery when I was in Nashville for a conference. When I arrived, I was transported to an environment that reminded me of medieval tavern, but more modern and chique. I was immediately helped by some amazing guys who explained the various flavors they carried. When I arrived, they had 3 basic meads, and 3+ flavored meads but their website offers even more variety. The 3 basic ones were made from just yeast, honey, and water with differences in citrus notes and sweetness levels. The flavored ones included a ginger one, a fruity one (Bouquet), and a floral and more earthy bottle made with ryze mushrooms and local teas. There was also a unique bottle that I had to get- it's similar to mulled one and comes with a pack of spices that you add to your mead and you cook it together and drink it hot. i wish i had something like this in jersey. first off, the branding is ON POINT here. props to that! the flow and theme of the honey bee and meadery follow throughout, its warm and welcoming too. very thoughtful design and creative. This isnt a place id come and kick back drinks and get wasted, for me its more about chilling and sipping. i love all the mead, but its an acquired taste for sure. that being said, i enjoyed every style i tried and can appreciate the experimentation in flavors. staff is so friendly and very helpful with many suggestions. ps there is a food truck outside. read more

We knew little about mead before coming here, but our bartender was all the more excited to tell us about their process, their meads/products, and letting us try a few samples before getting started. We had the flights and also ordered a few more pints afterwards, and it was all VERY delicious. The vibe is a little hipster (the only downside...), but even w/ that, it's still very welcoming and cozy on the inside w/ plenty of board games and places to sit. The back patio area has a campfire and plenty of picnic table seating. Taco truck on the outside is run by one guy and makes DELICIOUS tacos, tortas, etc. They go incredibly well w/ the mead and make it very easy to tuck in here for the whole night for food, drink, and conversation. This was an awesome find on our trip. We managed to come up the weekend of one of the snow storms, and the more the 6 of us tried to find places to go, the more we found places closing up for the afternoon. We called Honeytree and Cameron said he was going to stay open so we made our way over. Man are we glad we did! Atmosphere here is awesome and Cameron is fantastic! He was more than happy to talk with us and even came over to our little seating area at one point and sat down with us. We were there for nearly 3 hours that evening and loved every minute of it. Although we are allowed to take our food inside when ordering from BLBC - if you're just there for the food (perhaps you don't drink for personal reasons) the bartenders will give you an attitude. And won't try to hide it. It's one thing if the food truck wasn't involved with the establishment, but you cannot have a food truck in your front yard and be upset when people come inside the doors to sit and eat. Drinking alcohol or not. Ambiance? Uncomfortable stares and dirty looks from the bartenders UNLESS they're on track for tip money from you. read more

A hard U-turn was made upon passing this joint on the way to dessert. You know that's some serious mead loving. We parked in the lot labelled for them next to an amazing Y'all wall art. The open space was very cool and filled with hanging plants & macrame. Two little pallet bench nooks and a raised section with a bar table & seating. We got flights of their signature, bouquet toss (hibiscus), and ginger. The signature was definitely the group fave. Most of the mead uses wildflower honey. The whole mead making operation is right behind the tasting counter and there's a great outdoor section with picnic tables & stoves. Found this place by chance outside downtown Nashville. Beautiful place, atmosphere and people. The two bartenders were welcoming, patient and extremely knowledgeable on their mead. Their mead is not as "syrupy" as most, they use more water to help alter the taste and it's by far the best mead we have had in the US. The place is cute to boot! Honeybee prints/art all over plus honeycomb style wall shelves etc. the outdoor patio is beautiful and like a scene from a garden party, white lights, picnic tables, greenery. You can tell the owner(s) put a lot of heart and soul into this place. We tried a flight of mead and ended up taking a bottle home of their seasonal mead, which was a flower blend. We also tried their ginger, the "house" and now I can't remember the third, I didn't like it-tasted like wine. Worth a stop if you are a mead drinker or enjoy sitting outside having a nice glass of mead and a quiet-ish setting. I think they have love music throughout the week but I'm am unsure on the days, we were there on a Friday.
