When I first called I was told they were scheduled to be out of town that weekend, but Moriah called back to let us know they postponed their trip so they could cook for us! What company does that? Food was served hot and ready. Three servers arrived and had everything out and ready to serve when we arrived at the reception venue. They stayed and served everyone, cleaned up and packed up our leftovers. They even provided take-out containers for our guests! I look forward to using Just Right Catering again soon! When we started looking a year ago for a venue for my son's wedding in 2023 (this year), we chose this venue because it was small, charming and very affordable- it was under a different name and ownership. In March of this year (2023) it was sold, and purchased by Southern Grace Event Center. Our wedding was not going to be until June and honestly I had no idea what to expect- from renovations to change in ownership. Let me say, on June 3rd, we could not have asked for a more beautiful setting for a wedding! The venue was BREATHTAKING. The changes and upgrades included an open chapel with beautiful architectural design, new bride and groom suites, a completely renovated indoor reception hall with exposed beams on the ceiling, new chandeliers and floor to ceiling stone fireplace, a covered patio w a fireplace and a passthrough window from the bar (we used this as a cigar bar patio) as well as stunning gardens that included a waterfall, blooming roses and hydrangeas. IT WAS AMAZING! And, the new owner John was a joy to work with--so delightful and accommodating. He honored everything in our original contract and more. It was such a lovely experience and an unforgettable, gorgeous wedding.

An excellent state park. The park is well mai rained and there are a variety of ways to stay in…read morethe park. They have a very large lodge that includes a tavern and an Italian restaurant and a very nice gift shop which is on the third floor. You can also choose from two types of cabins, glamping tents, treetop platforms, good old fashioned tent camping sites or RV/Trailer sites. I did five nights in a tent and then treated myself to a cabin for the last two nights to be well rested for my return trip. The trails are well maintained and have excellent trial signs. There is a beautiful lake and streams for fishing, swimming, paddle boating, and canoeing. There is even a zipline course for the adventurous souls. At the welcome center there is a large manicured lawn with chairs and a fire pit for large gatherings, volleyball nets and a playground for the youngsters. They even offer a free bag of popcorn and have a game room and small mountain wildlife museum. If I could give the park 10 stars I would.

We kept our clothes and luggage up on tables after that. Later that evening a palmetto bug appeared on the ceiling and skittered just high enough to be out of reach of anything thrown at it so we just had to watch it...both nights we stayed we had to leave lights on to dissuade the bugs from coming out and getting on us or in our bags. So! A lodge. There will be bugs (biiiiig big spiders on the buildings) inside and outside I guess. The room itself was fine, the bed was comfortable and clean and the bathroom was modern. The front desk was very friendly and helpful! I also liked how the building we were in had a common area you could light a fire in and watch the big tv if there was a game on you wanted to enjoy with others. The center area has swings, benches, a nice overlook and a fire pit. I enjoyed being out here in the clean air and nice view! Not a bad place to stay, but not as clean and modern as we personally like - if you're good with more rustic and nature being in your space (bugs!) then this is a nice place, nice price, easy ride to Helen and very close to Anna Ruby falls!

The hotel rooms seem reasonably priced but after fees, taxes, etc, the rate was 25% higher, just a basic motel room

This was about…read more10-15 minutes from campus (downtown Dahlonega) I attended a wedding of my friends Katherine and Chris at the winery - honestly I didn't taste any of the wine (yes I know, bad) but enjoyed myself. The venue is pretty spectacular with great views of the surrounding hills and valleys along with the vineyards as the hang of the side of the mountain. There were two aspects that pushed my opinion down a bit, neither are really the fault of the venue or business so I've stayed with the 5-stars. The wedding was held in an outdoor pavilion with great views, but during the first week of August quite hot. There are ceiling fans but they didn't help too much - I was sweltering in my jacket and tie by the time the ceremony ended (just be aware if you book something here during the hot season). The second, there are a lot of stairs as you are on the side of a mountain. If you have a hard time traversing a lot of stairs, there are other means of getting around so once again be aware. The main "hall" has windows with fantastic views. I thought the food was exceptional and wish I had taken more photos, but there were a lot of poor lighting (I was seated next to the dance area). My apologies for the missing check in and the lack of photos but I didn't want to be obnoxious at a wedding. Overall I love the rustic charm of this place and plan to return and more fully explore the wine offerings. I thought the service was exceptional with very accommodating staff, especially the bartenders.

Sadly, I arrived 30 minutes before closing so I had enough time for a glass of wine but not a time for tasting. The building and property is expensive with beautiful views of grapevine's leading up to the main building. There are several outdoor areas from which to choose to sit. The top one is covered with ceiling fans. With the threat of storms this afternoon, I chose to sit there. The view here is absolutely stunning- I can see several other mountains and the storms in the distance. The friendly host us at the register reviewed some wines with me so I chose the Plenitude. It's a blend of steel aged Chardonnay with voignier. It's crisp and perfect for a hot summer day. If you are in the area for an event or a weekend or an overnight, I highly recommend visiting both Mountain Vineyards and Winery.
