Not able to buy samples I truly miss being able to buy sample packets.. But I understand order cost of packaging and growth of businesses.. Well I am here to visit and looked up where the main store was as they aren't at a farmer's market near me but the store was.. The store if not looking for it you will miss it.. Tiny little store but most part looks like a warehouse with a tiny room to have an open door front while the magic is worked in back.. Dude behind counter very pumped I knew my teas they sold and said he job was just made easy.. I'd like to say I walked out of there with 9 teas with my 5% discount for schecking in on Yelp!! 9 teas under 100$ well worth it..

[Review #294] 2018 Yelp 100 Challenge (59/100)…read more During this visit to Westwood Farmer's Market, Zen's Tea House caught my attention with samples. Charismatic salesman, Arturo, ran through his spiel of the available teas/drinks, touting all the health benefits of each. Hmmm... I'm a bit skeptical but I also grew up drinking my mom's brews (though I'm not sure if I benefited health-wise of her tonics). ;-) Golden Milk ("high quality" blend of turmeric, Vietnamese cinnamon, & pure ginger) caught my attention because of the health benefits of turmeric & ginger... though I use both for cooking (turmeric for curries & ginger for veggies), not to drink. :-O I was a little concerned about tasting turmeric since it's often used in Indian curries. Since their samples were blended with vanilla almond milk, the milk masks some of that turmeric & ginger pungency. In fact, it was quite smooth & tasty! =) Arturo touted the golden milk's benefits such as digestive discomfort, anti-inflammation, pain relief, cardiovascular health, weight loss, etc. I suffer from joint pain/discomfort due to old age, added weight, etc. so I'm hoping this miracle milk will ease some of that. He seems confident that I will be returning soon... well, let's wait & see. I plan to taste a daily dose for 2 weeks to see if there's any difference, & let you know in a follow-up review. According to their website, turmeric is "famous for anti-inflammatory & detoxifying properties, wonder remedy for injuries, joint pain, & toxin build-up." Vietnamese cinnamon is generally safe when used in amounts commonly found in foods, according to MedlinePlus. Cassia varieties of cinnamon -- including Vietnamese cinnamon -- contain significant amounts of coumarin, which is linked to potential liver damage. :-O So if you have liver disease, it is recommended to avoid dietary supplements containing cassia cinnamon, but using cinnamon for seasoning should be fine. When using herbs or supplements, it's best to talk with your doctor before consumption. Well, it's been a couple of days & I have yet to notice a difference... too soon to tell. But I do enjoy my daily cup of Golden Milk each morning to start my day. :-)

I love coming to the Huntington Park Farmers Market every Wednesday! I always leave with fresh…read morefruit for the week and coming here always makes my day. Everyone is so welcoming and it is such a great time supporting vendors. There are tons of vendors to choose from, and so many healthy and delicious options. Did I mention that some vendors also offers samples of their delicious fruit? If I am not mistaken, they accept EBT vouchers or have a system in place for those who do receive it. There are some vendors selling food like pupusas and sandwiches which I have yet to try, but the line is always long which is definitely a good sign. Definitely recommend grabbing a bag (or many) of popcorn from the vendor who sells them. They are delicious and always a wonderful snack. I really like how there are healthier options being presented in my city and wish there were more of these farmers markets in Southeast Los Angeles. It does get a bit busy around 10 am and most items like the baked goods are gone by 1 pm so be sure to plan accordingly. I think visiting the farmers market and having a picnic at this park after would be a wonderful idea! Definitely worth checking out.

It's fairly small, but there are plenty of vendors with ample supplies of fresh fruits and vegetables and some flowers. My FAVORITE part though, is the fact that they don't have a BUNCH of other vendors selling stuff that, in this reporter's opinion, belong in a Farmers Market. Some places have people selling music, books, etc. and they should go to the swap-meet instead making it harder for people to get to the stuff that belongs there. I'll be back! Probably every week now that I'm retired. More photos next time.
